It ain't that important. Anything that suits you. Everybody should find a good pair of gloves to himself and not to buy the same gloves that your idol wears. Professional players have different needs and demands for their game.
im 13 and i play for mk dons acedemy and the 1 thing i really have trouble with is getting up - i always sit on my arse and it takes that second longer also do u have any sites for good roll fingered gloves im looking 2 spend about £30 on a decent pair
hey jay i was wondering is der a certain height to be a goalie?? kuz im 5'4 and i can say im an ok goalie...i want to know if u could give me some tips on how to improve ma skills on how to become a better keeper...thanks
Well, basically anyone can play any position in the pitch. Of course taller keepers have advantage in crosses and dives to the corners...
There are also great keepers who are around 180cm tall -Jeremy Janot, Victor Valdes(great keeper...? so and so..), Tim Howard etc etc.
If you don't have a lot of jumping power you just need to practice that. Your coach should be glad to help you in that. Just go and ask it's his job to help you!
Just keep practising and work for your own goals!
thxs for da advice.....playing soccer and goalie is wat made me get out of da gang i used to be in...its better to be playing sports den doing bad things...thxs
Well, the basics of the dive is that you 1.Keep your head forward. 2. Point the pushing foot towards the direction (to the ball) that you want to jump 3. Hands are straight and lead to the direction of the head. 4. Catching the ball 5. Landing on your side. I prefer keepers to land so that they are facing to the pitch so they are more aware what is happening in the game...
It depends how old you are. Like with those little keepers you saw on video we start from lower position. Then you get used to hit the ground. Then you start practising falling, diving etc.
More your body gets touches to the ground the better your nervous system gets used to that.
Just keep practising with your coach and in time you'll get more confidence!
yea thats true, i used to be kinda afraid thinking it would hurt at the begining of my season, but now im diving on cement and roads, itz really just a mental barrier that yew can get through with what Jay just said ^^ Good video keep it up
When you dive high and with maximum power the momentum just makes you roll over. What we are practicing in this video is the right angle when touching the ground and also the shape of the body.
When you keep your bodylinen straight on the direction of the dive you are less likely to turn yourself away from facing the pitch.
its that i need more practice on the rolling part. its that it doesnt matter at what angle or power or anything, i never roll at the end and sometimes i land pretty hard, it hurts but i dont really care as long as i dont lose my view of the ball..
its funny cause he forwarded it.

I think you'll find the gloves easily.
Take care!
