Dave,i got that same gold top 1991 she is real heavy, sounds sweet and warm but i still like my teles and strats for the comfort and they sound pretty good also. You are a great teacher you really get your point accross.
A motive may not the same thing as a guitar lick. Consider a psychology of sound going on and the way the brain interprets that sound. In a vain attempt, the old masters label this thing a motive.
If I hit one single note, that essentially is a motive.
You are mixing up what is called a musical motive with what is called a musical phrase. A motive does eventually become a phrase, and then a musical sentence.
However, Fractional units of melody and their appropriate labels do vary, accordingly.
Dave. you are an amazing guitarist in all the extension of the word.
Your playing is awesome, you also know how to fully produce yourself, you have your particular sound also, and not to mention, the excelente tutorials you post on youtube.
Dave, you really help me out so much you don't even know....I really appreciate you taking your time to show me and (everyone else who watches) these things....Peace
Thanks dave :) great lesson as per usual, i was wondering if you could do some acoustic lessons mabey some druming on the guitar and DADGAD tuneing PLEASE ! :)

Great lesson as usual Dave!
I wonder, how often would you change your strings and do you change the strings on all your guitars yourself?

at home I change them when they're dead. Yes I do my own setup. On tour, I have a tech and they're changed every 2- 3 shows.

Very helpful, especially since our band leader puts me on the spot a lot to take a solo in the middle of songs.
Hey, do you do play with a slide? It might be interesting to have a couple of ROTWs with slide.
