  • i really look up to marina nemat for being soo brave and sharing this terrible experience of her life....thankyou marina

  • this is a truly one fucked up woman ...

  • oh yeah, and propaganda i might add

  • lies.

  • I left Iran over 2 decades ago and I thank my parents for taking us away from those blood sucking monsters who attacked our country and our innocent children, accusing and stamping, torturing for no reason whatsoever! I feel terrible for Marina, I never went to Evin, even when I was so close at the age of 12 because of having nail polish! Thank you Marina for writing this book and I just can't believe anyone who opposes this act! They must be ashamed of themselves!!!

  • I hope every one who rapes and kills inocent people in iran na evin prison suffers the unthinkables.

I have an special connection with GOD nad anything I ask Will happen PROMISS

  • most comments here r from israelis who hide behind other nationalties. one of the tactics the zionists do to build a country which has took the life of many innocent Palestinians and resulted in many refugees as well. Normally a propaganda should be made against israel not iran

  • screw them, and her and him. hahaha

  • What happens in Guantanamo?

  • god bless her for giving us her compelling story

i was so taken by her book and her honesty i could not put the book down

i wish her all the best, shes a beautiful soul

  • Fuck ISlamic Republic and Khamenei

Soon the Rage of IRAN will Burn you

Khamenei i hope you stay alive so we can HANG you soon you NAZI Savege

    LONG LIVE IRAN

  • God IS love - and when we have love - we want to express it to others - love does not kill when someone does not have the same belief!

It seems that the truth hurts and does not want to be exposed! - Exposing the tuth does not mean a personal attack on individuals but it's about the leadership of the Country whose citizens' life is not valuable and respected.

Very few experience the true shalam.

  • akhan62 - reading your comments is really sad - Why? because there is more to life than following a man who had less than a holy life - One does not have to wear an out garment to express a belief.

  • first off I am all for freedom in Iran but I am very dubious of this woman and how the media deals with this subject!

  • To akhan62: you better know that hands of your fellow muslim extremists is in blood of Iranian people. Torture and rape is common in Iran prisons which is in fact tradition left from prophet Muhamad.

  • Why she didnt say anything before?

Ive read the book, good book but some part doesnt make sense to me.

  • liar

  • I have read the book, its amaizing!! i hope they make a movie out of this story and the oscar is garanteed!!!

  • islamic republic sucks.iran for iranians.

  • BEAUTIFUL WOMEN. Wonderful Heart. Thank you Father Son and Spirit God for YOUR BLOOD on the Cross. Praise the God of the Bible and no other Book. Jesus Christ may your Holy ministering Angels Defend and Protect this women. AMEN to the WORD.

  • Who? yr mother?

  • mother is that u

  • shut up fucking paki, marg bar islam

  • if u stuck up with your country's islamic revoloution, it doesnt mean that you have to swear at islam, ediot!!

  • sorry but this is Islam. our revolution proved it.

  • @akhan62 Idjiot!

  • I am soooooooooooooooo sorry that you are not in Iran to be able to kill innocent people. cause seems you are one of them!!!!!!

  • Why would you make such an ignorant statement? She's a mom - would you appreciate your mother being called a whore for expressing her views? I really hope you're not a Canadian. I wouldn't want to be on the same soil as someone so ignorant and hateful.

  • Tolerance & acceptance of each other's differences is a beautiful thing. Try it some time. You'll rid yourself of the hatred in your heart . You reap what you sow, young man.

  • see there is no proof that jesus ate pork, gambeled, slept around and got drunk so if i write a book saying that he did all that should that be considered as freedom of speech or lie

  • If you read Marina Nemat's book (have you?), it's simply a memoir of her experience. I have no idea what you're rambling on about. There are biographies out there of young men who were abused by priests in the Catholic church, there are accounts of children who were abused in various religious sects...it's not about bashing that particular faith. These stories including Marina's, are about survival, hope & the human spirit. Again, you reap what you sow, kiddo. Your hatred = being hated.

  • Just from that single ignorant comment of yours, you have demonstrated that you are no prize to your own faith. Full of hatred and ugliness. Thank God that I live in Canada: where women are free to choose, to receive an education, dress however they want, date to their hear'ts content! Mostly to be free to speak their mind! That's the way it should be for everyone on this planet. Right Akhan62?

  • Like I said earlier, I feel really fortunate for where I live, You certainly have it in for women...and you take it upon yourself to twist around what is being said in order to justify your hatred. I really feel for you bud.

  • I thank Marina for having the courage to share of her own experience - The World DOES need to know how people are being treated in secret!

  • @akhan62 idjiot!

  • @akhan62 Idjiot!

  • @akhan62i have doubt that you are not a bastard of dirty arabs and your mom woule be ashamed to have a misbirth like you !islaam of yours and the satanic regime and many of you F would be muslim arabs is just worth for sheating on it and flushin down.

and your name says also you are a stupid pakistani ! pakistan is a failed state ! source of islamic terror, and terrorists !

Pkaistan will be dissolved and recaptured by India,Afghanistan and Iran and bitches like you ? Hell !

  • @akhan62 Idjiot!

  • This reality story should be read by every one in the world no matter what their political side is this is a story of a very young girl being tortured, almost send to execution and being forced to a, In my view repeatedly rape (as her marriage was a force to save her family) Love you Marina Nemat. We are proud of you as an Iranian fighter woman

  • i just always wonder what Arash looked like, im just curious, what Ali looked like , hamhed looked like the book is so amasing and sad god bless you and you friends and all other prisnors

  • Amazing book!!! A must-read book!!! I could not put it down. I read until the early hours of the morning just to finish it!!! Absolutely unbelievable what she had to go through!! It "sheds light" on the enslaving Islamic faith and the economic unrest of the middle eastern countries.

  • As a Persian person I really admire your courage for coming out and tell the truth. People like you make the difference in the world. Thank you for your courage and let us know your suffering. I am glad you decided to share it with us. If it was not for women like you we still had to live believe barbaric Islamic law and stay home and only raise kids and no education. You thought us to be strong and outspoken, VERY proud to see Persian women like you around.

  • Marina, thank you for being so brave!

  • Brave brave brave woman.....we really proud of you Marina.....

Thank you ,thank you and thank you

  • He story is not unique. I know entire families with kids as young as 12 that were imprisioned. So many brave young hopeful Iranians have been killed, and their families committed to change in the early 80's. Please don't forget that many brave Iranians, millions in the streets in 80 and many have continued the fight for 30 years. Resistance is not wrong. Resistance is not a group of terrorists. Support all forms of resistance, and all Iranians willing to risk to end mullah rule.

  • I can´t writte english well. I try understand her life. I dont understand that in the seccion of gratitude are not to name the family of ali. I thinck it´s the first.

  • To the so called people who claim this does not happen in Iran, it does and to bintHussain1 what Ali did was for himself and not out of love or anything else.... the girl should have never been in prison, arrested or anything.... I think you lot warp Islam or anythign to fit your own aegndas...

  • Right on devoneh! NO reason for arresting young people who sell papers, demonstrate, speak up... today young iranians are brave and likeminded. Hundreds, thousands of young women like Marina were in prision under this regime. Today many of these woman are still fighting for freedom including the women in camp ashraf - talk about bravery... these women have kept up their opposition for 30 years! Help protect them so they too can tell their stories.

  • I think going off to a different topic and subject is amusing, so what are you hiding? Second my family were killed in the 80's so I have no clue WTF you are on about Showdiva99..... Many others are oppressed but this woman is selling a book.... What happened to all the other stuff people wrote which are backed by documents of torture and execution! I think you have a romantic view of this woman and book!

  • Now that you have calmed down, re-read what you have written. You proclaim yourself to be a willing would-be rapist and murderer. You should be ashamed of yourself in front of Allah for expressing your internal hatred in such a violent and psychotic way.

  • yTO ALL READERS THIS forgotmyuzer is A FANATIC MUSLIM RADICALIST LIVING IN CANADA , HE HATES CHRISTIANS HE ATTACKS HRISTIANS VIDEOS AND INSULT , HE INSULTED LEBANESE GIRLS IN A VIDEO ABOUT LEBANESE BEAUTY JUST BECAUSE HE KNOWS THEY ARE CHRISTIANS

    HE LIVES IN CANADA ,

IF YOU ARE A REAL MAN YOU TELL ME WHERE IN CANADA YOU LIVE !!!!!!!!!!

TO SHOW US HOW REALLY COURAGEOUS YOU ARE FACE TO FACE

  • i really cried when Ali died, i know that in some ways he is wrong..but the way he loved Marina could at least make those wrong things blurry...

    the book really inspired me

    God bless you!

  • Nor could I. I am only twelve years old, and I have just started reading the book and I am finding it most challenging to put down. It is been the most touching and powerful book in my life, and the voice of these women should definetly be heard; this a great start. Check out Zarmina's story on google; watch the footage of her execution and read the story, as the book has, it will reach out to you.

  • If Ali wouldn't have been killed, with your strong and enduring mind and his understanding it would've change situations better. But I nor you have that power to bring the past and adjust it how we want.

I wish you good in live with your long time love and the happy family you build.

IF you still have fear of Islam, I wish you could see it the right way being in a free country where everyone is liberal in their religion. I pray that God's guidance be with you.

  • Moving on chapters after chapters, when I've reached the part where Ali wants to married you and you'll become a Muslim; I personally was glad but knowing the fact it was under a pressure. I was a bit disappointed that Ali and his family wasn't given much credit. Your life could've been different if your answer was 'no' to him. but no one knows how different. I was in tears reading the part when he saved you the night he was assassinated. It was out of love!

  • I've read this book. It was the first book I read cover to cover and first memoir I hold in my hands. I couldn't let go, I want to read on and on. Its is an amazing road you've been through in live. You gain experience and without your strong and brave mind I'm sure you couldn't be here as today.

I did believed most that is said. Of course, you must write in a way to make a reader's thought tense and eager to go on.

  • I've just read this book. Its a true inspiration. Marina is a brave woman. This was the first memoir I read, in fact a first book i read out cover to cover!... May God Guide Us all!

  • Lastly, can't wait to see a movie out of the 1st memoir I've read.

  • I wanted to know! This was an amazing story without a heroine who was a victim. She was a survivor and an amazing person. It was a wonderful eye opener for me to see how alike we were before the revolution. I was the same age and watching Little House on the Prairie and listening to the BeeGees also. Thank you for sharing!

  • brave, brave woman

  • I just finished reading the book. Marina is a brave, amazing woman.

  • Marina is soo strong!

  • once i started reading this book, i couldn't put it down. she's an inspiring woman and i'm glad that she shared her story with the world. she's very brave, and her story is unbelievable. amazing

  • I have read her book and it's really shoking for me, because I grew in Europe where the principles are different, I am a woman and I am considered valuable and important! I couldn't immagine myself as an islamic women. I feel very sorry for everyone who experienced beeing prisoner in Iran.Marina has given a worthful testimony of what is happening in Iran's prisons. I reccomend this book.

  • @szmataty

I'm a muslim woman, but I have a very good life. not all muslim have the same life. not all people have the same experiance.

the problem is in IRAN and not in ISLAM.

  • @19941994555

I agree , I am an Egyptian Muslim , and IRAN ruined the reputation fo ISLAM .

  • If you think she is not "expressive" enough then you must be incredibly shallow not to be able to see it.

  • I do not mean her facial expressions. Can you not even see the anguish in her eyes? So shallow... That's sad.

  • Wow, You are the only one getting defensive and taking it personally. You're really getting upset and throwing a tantrum just because ChrisSunHwa dared to disagree with you directly... lol. (And she said nothing about the "color or shape" of her eyes. I don't know where you're getting that nonsense. Maybe it's just a language barrier.) Sorry if that bothers you.

  • In suggesting a possible language barrier I was making an excuse for you (defending you) because I thought you may have simply misunderstood. Thank you for showing me I was wrong to defend you. Blessings.

  • very interesting,thanks

  • I love you marina and your book....you are an exemple to the world.

  • The book was amazing and im ashamed to have so a life

  • im really proud of u Marina as an Iranian. you showed accurately what was going on at the 1980s in horrible Evin prison. u showed to the world how iranian people have suffered and still are suffering from the murderer regime. im sorry for my innocent brothers and sisters who got executed in those harsh days. They made a revolution to make our country a better place but in turn, it became the hell itself.those murderes killed and raped in the name of god, and they will pay for it one day..by god

  • the only thing i can tell is that i read the book in only a night....i just couldn't close it....it was like been there...you are an amazing woman Marina...really wish you the best...

  • Marina, es uma mulher com M grande. Admiro a tua coragem...

  • I loved reading your book.

  • I applaud and commend this woman. I read her book - remarkable! She is elegant and graceful!

  • Dear Marina I peoud of you as an Iranian woman. you're reall tur Brave iranian lady.

When I read your story still sometimes I see nightmare and I can imagin myself in Evin however I can't fell onethousands of suffer that you had there .All my body cells was trembled when I read book and your book talked to me word by word. I wish one day I see you and talk more.

Besides It's very good and complete interveiw I like it very much.

    Viva Iran and Iranian

  • You explained your feeling in a very good manner. We all love her and we will win. Viva Iran.

  • agreed

  • weren't you listening to what whwe was saying?

  • i'm speakless.... she's so amazing. i wish her all the best for her life. her book is awesome, i think it's really necessary to read it.

  • Thank you so much for sharing!!

  • The second version of Betty Mahmodi her books is different from the pervous version, she was a marxist not a chirsrian that publisher likes, her husband never was in Shah's prison she never in her former book said my husband was in Shah's prison

  • This interview does not get to the heart of the story. Marina was honest, saw the good in people, wanted to read and learn, and now tells her life story. She has a comples understanding of life that does not come across so well in the interview.

  • Marina, u are a little bit phony you know!

  • Based on what? Making such statements without giving examples is unfair.

  • Marina Nemat never let your voice be silenced!

  • It is people like you hashmakh33 who perpetuate evil on this planet

  • im looking forward to waste another 10 min of my precious time aGaIn.

  • errr... nobody is holding a gun to your head to watch this... not unlike if one criticizes their own gov't and get shot... and please, it is well documented and well known that it occurs no matter how much vile propaganda is spouted.

  • There are acceptance problem in some western countries for iranian. Soulution: some iranian say" Look ! we are like you . we are not like other iranians!" and begging for acceptance.another iranian snitch with lack of personality and self confidence.

  • Leave the rest of the world to deal with their ignorance about who Iranian people are. To say that a person cannot talk out against a government and the way they handled its critics, then you are saying that there is no freedom of speech left. Iran can't call itself a democracy and still try to silence any critic. For the people in these posts to be so vulgar and say that she is betraying Iranian people, it is these comments themselves that are putting the reputation on every Iranian to shame.

  • If not being a "sell out" means keeping silent about gross injustices done to yourself, your friends, and fellow citizens, I'd say keep "selling out" Marina!

  • well u r one too i guess...ignorance does that... send u in to evin and gets u killed... it's cuz of ignorance

  • And you need to do humanity a favour and shoot yourself in the face. And your own country Iran has already been sold out by the motherfucking yatollah and the other religious right fuckers.

  • no kuryamtl iran was actually sold out by the american fascists.i don't expect u to know this, but back in the 50's Iran was a democracy wiv a moderate pro-western president Mossadq and wen he tried to take his countrys oil bac from BP the US toppled him and put in the Shah dictatorship-ALL of todays problems in iran can be traced back to this

  • sure.... you know I am very well aware of how much America has fiddled in and interfered in other countries affairs, resulting in things that blow up in their face. But you know people have to take responsibility for their own actions and not blame everything under the sun on America. the theocracy in Iran are the ones who are commiting atrocities like stoning people to death and even hanging teenagers because they are queer and dont conform to some stupid interpretation of religious texts...

  • ohhh jeez, to survive that oh she must possess great strength. And I hope people dont stop talking about that... the gov't and system in Iran must be gotten rid of, but not through an outside force like US, it won't work.

  • I'm looking forward to her being back!

  • im looking forward to buying her book!
