@mik32526 thats not true... you don't have to make large amounts, there are plenty of online tutorials for making homemade dry ice. Although it isn't recommended because of the use of carbon dioxide and potential for getting frostbite, plus it is much cheaper to just buy..

@lorikuqi ACTUALLY it can be done, you buy an industrial cooler (Can run you about 500 dollars) a few cylinders of pure Co2 (8 dollars each) and put these under a large amount of pressure, and presto dry ice!

(Or, you can go to a walmart or a kmart and buy it for eight dollars)

@lorikuqi A fire extinguisher that is fueled by carbon dioxide should do the trick if you spray it through a cloth filter into a bowl or something like that, it would probably be much cheaper just to buy it at a supermarket instead of buying a $40 fire extinguisher

dry ice is from what i understand is liquid co2 sprayed in a chamber that forms ice chips and the ice chips are compressed to make what we know as dry ice  ( its easier just to buy the stuff) the liquid co2 is extracted from the raw natural gas when it comes out of the ground thats why big plants usually only have it or big grocery stores because they are able to buy it in bulk just look around at local ice companys they should have it

@TheHolyMarshmallow There are such companies... Companies that mass produce large quantities of ice and other frozen products like dry ice which is frozen co2 which makes the gas from a liquid to a solid. Heating it up again quickly makes it back into gas. Simple science.
