I would just like to say this is sick! Also we as horse owners would have the humane society after us if we did not take care of our horses properly in thier eyes, but they will allow this to go on. Cattle, fowl, ect. are raised for consumption. It is not USA custom to raise horses for meat much less eat them. Horses, for many people are companion animals. Why don't we just ship our dogs/ cats over to Korea? No animal deserves to suffer, but, I like many others, hold horses in a little higher regard then animals raised for meat production. I want to see horse slaughter stopped for good, both in this country as well as transporting over the border where they suffer a worse fate.

It is irrational to compare the treatment of animals to the treatment of people. Horse slaughter & consumption is illegal in the US. Its not immoral or wrong. These horses are used up amish horses, lame show horses, or sick an sufferin trail horses. They aren't the beautiful, gallopin horses on your calender. Nobody wants them, and it justs costs money to "rescue" them and prosecute owners. The owner gets money out of the horse, the buyer gets the horse, the truckers have jobs, and a slaughter house has workers. It costs 4000 dollars to take care of a horse a year.That would be a good way to stimulate the economy.
