Had a '72 LeMans...my first car. It had the Endura front end and the Ram Air hood option on it, so it looked like a GTO. Man...I miss that car. This video makes it worse, but very cool that GTO was rescued. '70 was one of the best looking years for the GTO.
@RacerJ35 Which car? The one in the video or mine? Didn't say mine was a GTO...I said it LOOKED like a GTO. The GTO became an option on the LeMans again in '72. I said you could get the Endura bumper and hood option in '72. I have the PHS documents on that car and it's listed on my paper work. It's was a D37(LeMans) car. A real GTO will have 242 in the beginning of the VIN...except for a '64(it was an option then) and after '71 ('72, 3, and 4). So mine was not a clone.
One year and at least $35K to do a complete frame off restoration on that GTO. A base motor automatic will never return the investment in costs. Gotta restore them for the fun!
well, its clear that wasn't Ohio ! must have been a nice area, still had all its glass !! What you don't realize is that for car people, time doesn't move at the same speed as it does for everyone else, what seemed like 10 yrs to the owner, was 30 in real life :)
i got a 68 roadrunner that the guy gave me bucause he thought it was rotted out cuz it sat in his back yard with no rear so it was on the ground but when we went to put a rear in it to get it out not a spot of rust the quarters were perfect and so were the floors front clips beat up from his tractor unfortunatelt but i have a perfect front clip off of a four door

What did the owner say, why did it get left behind? Also, when do we get to see the trans am one :) great job guys, nice to see people restoring not wreckin!
cool video glad to see ppl still care and restore cars instead of taking the to your local junkyard for scrap money wish i had alot of cash I would do it all day !
I loved seeing the front end raised up where you could see that the grill still said GTO in bright white lettering and also the GTO fender decals were awersome to see. I dig the shit out of a diamond in the rough. On the other hand I would be realy pissed if you took that from my neighborhood lol, I realy would miss it.
my first car was a 1970 lemans sport witha goat hood, bought it for $800.00 in 1986,it was a chicago car,had a lot of rust, its got to be gone now, wish i kep it any way but thatsilver 77 red in t/a i traded for was good to,you cant keep em all,ill find another sporty lemans 70//one day..!
@pattycat100567 i found another 1970 lemans sport 2nd owner 101000 actual, jan 2011,been driven it ever week end now!john delorean you made history wit this one1!
THANK GOD FOR YOU GUYS RESTORIN THIS PIECE OF JEWELS I WISH I COULD DO DA SAME IF I HAD ENOUGH MONEY TO DO SO KEEP UP WITH THE VIDEOS AND IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU COULS SHOW SOME OR THE RESTO JOB DONE TO THOSE CARS AND FINAL PRODUCT OG IT
I always liked the 64 ford Galaxy, especially the convertible. I orginallty saw it on I dream of Jeannie before they switched to GM. Others say they never used fords. whatever. I really liked the 70 pontiacs and yes, especially the convertible. But I do still like the 69 Grand Prix....even though it's nose reminds me of a Cicada
I'm glad to see it saved, those '64 - '70 GTOs were some of the best muscle cars ever made and should be saved if they're not too far gone.. It is rough and will require a lot of time and money to get it right. When completed, I doubt if they'll be able to sell it for much more than what they've put into it , but if they're lucky, they may get something for their time and labor.
is it at tv, it looks like so simple producer, but that is awesome!! i just love this now!! thank you men! i think like you! thats a since do this tipe of thinks with this beautys!!
@Shoknifeman I am torn, i like the old rotted cars, i love the historic car, the rust and all, as long as the floors are good, and you can get the original motor going that was in it from the factory. I would rather cruise around in the original. The restored cars, yeah they are cool, but they loose something in the process and no longer are what they were. Rat Rods, Old Trucks, Old cars, just something about them that is lost in restoration.
@TheManInDboX Well, I don't mind a car in original condition if it's in good shape, but, if it's falling apart, then I prefer restored...what I hate is "Customs"; they are what I call automotive vandalism, taking away the true history of rare cars forever,
After the rust is removed, all the metal will be too structurally thin and holed. Will it be original with every panel replaced?Think condensation rust under the vinyl top. Total mouldy interior? A dollar total close to $100k is more realistic. How many people will pay that much for this car that is more than likely a base 400? Hope its a RA4 for that expense. The frame is soft, the door wouldn't close! There's lots of stripped '70 GTOs that need a complete car parts source. Very scary.
Once this show takes off (and why wouldn't it...great concept) you're gonna get deluged with unbelievable "digs" from around the country. Man, you're gonna get some unreal OLD finds in the sticks of Kentucky and Georgia and Vermont, etc... Wanna see the rebuild process especially...will that be part of the show? Maybe you could have segments where you show several jobs in various states of repair. Would keep a nice "thread" going on so guys could keep track of their faves.
Keep the the good work on going, don't crush them, restore them.
I also suggest to visit boneyards, to check all car, to get the VIN and other informations in order to check options and colors to see how many were built. Many of these need to be saved as rolling witness of your automotive past. A driving cart is always better than something catching dust in a museum. They're doing a good job with warbirds, why not with automobiles, I think this is a good idea.
loved the opening. Great. This is what I look for on Youtube. Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for posting.

Hi, I want to know, did they bought the car to the owner or they just keep it?
I'm French so I don't know that.
