Would it work in water sports as well, for example surfing, because the wave is moving closer and closer to the photography (who's on the beach) and I'd think that the wave of the closest layer would cover the person in the furthest layer...
I really want to do this but it wont work. i open up the first photo then open the rest as layers but when i try to paint over the images to make the others come through it doesn't work :( any ideas? thanks
Software doesn't make the shoot. good job Dom, the only think I would have try to do is bringing some fill in light to the skier. Sb-900 with battery grip would have worked. Chase Jarvis has a great example of this type of photos. thanks for sharing
@edelosada depends on how fast the person is moving but i shot at 8fps and usually depending on how fast your subject is i would say 4fps is not too bad. 3 is a bit too slow
@subjectwork Not true. Most people that buy PS only use about 1%, and that 1% is to be found in gimp. So if you want to waste hundreds of dollars for something you can get for free, than go ahead.

Thank you! GIMP can be so confusing, but this was very helpful, very simple and gives great results :D

@subjectwork and it costs 600 compared to this which is free, and a lot of people do use gimp.

@Dombowerphoto
Its very cool that you use GIMP and not PS. As a hobby-photographer you want to pay 600 ore more Euro for a program so GIMP is you choice :).
I hope that we will see much more GIMP tutorials from you, Dom ;).
