I have never desired something more in my life than what I see before my eyes right now...... I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive!!!! the economic times has affected us all you know......
Did some looking around for Hellraiser inspired puzzle boxes and found these instead. Very cool music boxes. Great design and amazing sound. Surprised I have not seen these more, figured the horror convention would eat these up.
I'm not sure about the music, seriously and is the reason why I haven't bought 3 already... are there videos of all available boxes and their music? Something creepier perhaps? :(
@TheEngarPresence I think it'd be awesome if the boxes played the actual tune (the theme when Frank is resurrected) from the movie. This sounds like the Arabian Dance from Nutcracker....I agree, not necessarily creepy enough for me, either, but still very awesome that they implemented the musical movement. I ordered the Innocence puzzle, so I'll put up a video of that and its music once it arrives!
That was weird. Mine never cut to a horror movie sequence. All mine did was ask me to deposit another quarter in the box so it would continue to play. Of course I had a different kind. It was a peep box LOL
@Lichtor Do you guys have a Lament Configuration model with the music box theme from "Hellraiser"? I really wish you had a model of the exact movie replica with the same music. I would definately buy one (or two!) :D
I wonder how the boxes get their names... supposedly each one invokes a certain emotion based on its design and inner workings. A "Mourning" is to show respect and honor for the dead. However, I wonder if each box was frivilously named, or if the symbology on the sides attracts the name.
Posthumously credited as possibly one of the most prolific, if undiscovered, mass murderers in the history of the modern world, Philip LeMarchand first became known for his creation of bizarre, intricately designed music boxes which quickly became the rage of Europe.
The boxes, known in some circles as LeMarchand Boxes, were each one of a kind creations which were also puzzles, with the answer to one's ultimate hearts desire as their solution.
Yes. It has also been known as "The Box of Sorrows."
This is a special all black etched version of The Lament Configuration made by Pyramid-Gallery which goes by the name LeMarchand's Black Box of Mourning.
That's the best thing I've seen in years. However, I have an issue with the winding mechanism. As we've all seen in the Hellraiser movies, one rotates the central disc counter-clockwise to open the gates. This music box works by winding it clockwise.
Granted, a clockwise wind is standard for nearly everything, however, I really feel it should be wound counter-clockwise. Is the music box-like tune in the movie copyrighted? Otherwise, a tune closer resembling would be creepier :-D
When the light dimmed a bit before the segment with the actual box ended, that just creeped me out! I thought it was going to suddenly burst open and chains would come through the screen and grab me!
@majewda if you solve the puzzle it opens a gateway to hell and summons the Cenobites. In the original book they let you decide to go with them or not... in the movies they just drag you ass with them.
Thank you for your compliments, Phantomzone! Pyramid-Gallery has been producing variations of Philip LeMarchand's Lament Configuration since 2001. You can visit our gallery at:
I would love to acquire the rights to do the Christopher Young theme someday. Another problem beyond the copyright issue is the cost of having a particular piece of music made into a musical movement. You usually have to order at least a thousand pieces at the setup. This is not something that is feasible for me at this time. Baby steps...
These boxes are truly superb! The best i have seen yet. This man is an artisan comparable to LeMarchand himself. Or mabye its him and hes still alive?
I recently got one of these and they are gorgeous. Very beautifully made. If you are a fan of this movie or just the box itself this is definitely a must have. Thank You Lichtor!
That box is gorgeous. Been a minor fan of the movie, but for some strange reason, have always been fascinated with the box. I'll have to wait til after the holidays though as Christmas has wiped me out.
I wonder if a box could be made using hydraulics and really small motors? In the movies they have to press it down after pulling it up and turning. hydraulic pumps could create resistance giving the person the feeling of having to press it and not just drop it down. hmm.
so you have to open it somehow? or it just plays, im not sure what these are but they are kind of.... mystic, im a bit scared.

you should make a box that when that circular dial is turned a certain number of times then skinny springs pop out to scare the shit out of someone.
