  • so you have to open it somehow? or it just plays, im not sure what these are but they are kind of.... mystic, im a bit scared.

  • what the name of the song it plays?

  • I have never desired something more in my life than what I see before my eyes right now...... I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive!!!! the economic times has affected us all you know......

  • was that the origanal box or a replica you guys make?

  • Did some looking around for Hellraiser inspired puzzle boxes and found these instead. Very cool music boxes. Great design and amazing sound. Surprised I have not seen these more, figured the horror convention would eat these up.

  • I know i'm totally lame and it's probably ben asked before but what's the melody that this box plays?

  • i hope you guys get done with The Sorrows of St. Valentine and the bleeding box soon

  • is that the music that they originally played? isn't there any other gloomier music for it?

  • they skipped the scene where pin head jumps out of the box and starts chain raping people

  • Its actually called Lemarchand's Box of Grief not mourning.

  • Solving that thing is the gate way between heaven and hell. People dies, no joke..

  • In that movie , if you open the gates you'll die. No matter where you go, where you run or hide. They will find you..

  • damn... makes me think of Hellraiser

  • do you know where can I buy one in NY?

  • good mourning

  • I'm not sure about the music, seriously and is the reason why I haven't bought 3 already... are there videos of all available boxes and their music? Something creepier perhaps? :(

    Best

  • @TheEngarPresence I think it'd be awesome if the boxes played the actual tune (the theme when Frank is resurrected) from the movie. This sounds like the Arabian Dance from Nutcracker....I agree, not necessarily creepy enough for me, either, but still very awesome that they implemented the musical movement. I ordered the Innocence puzzle, so I'll put up a video of that and its music once it arrives!

  • truthfully, i expected chains to shoot out

  • damn... that's some creepy ass shit hahaha

  • I need one to scare my sister

  • is there a way to order one that plays a different tune, like "resurrection" from hellraiser?

  • When the song ends, do chains with hooks shoot out? haha

  • The Cube

    Merkabah

    Inter-dimensional jiggery-pokery

  • wow creepy :)

  • we have such wonderful sites to show u

  • nice box

  • wow, where did you take this cube? but playing is wrong (different song)

Can I get this box with right playing song? (right song is in first Hellraiser movie, scene: hospital, Kirsty openning the box)

  • That was weird. Mine never cut to a horror movie sequence. All mine did was ask me to deposit another quarter in the box so it would continue to play. Of course I had a different kind. It was a peep box LOL

  • where can i by one

  • @teddybear4422

The boxes are available at the Pyramid-Gallery website. You can find the web address under my Profile information.

  • @Lichtor how much

  • @Lichtor Do you guys have a Lament Configuration model with the music box theme from "Hellraiser"? I really wish you had a model of the exact movie replica with the same music. I would definately buy one (or two!) :D

  • you should make a box that when that circular dial is turned a certain number of times then skinny springs pop out to scare the shit out of someone.

  • I wonder how the boxes get their names... supposedly each one invokes a certain emotion based on its design and inner workings. A "Mourning" is to show respect and honor for the dead. However, I wonder if each box was frivilously named, or if the symbology on the sides attracts the name.

  • haha, it looks like someone has watched hellraiser a few too many times.

  • whats so evil about this box? why is he wearing gloves?

  • Posthumously credited as possibly one of the most prolific, if undiscovered, mass murderers in the history of the modern world, Philip LeMarchand first became known for his creation of bizarre, intricately designed music boxes which quickly became the rage of Europe.

The boxes, known in some circles as LeMarchand Boxes, were each one of a kind creations which were also puzzles, with the answer to one's ultimate hearts desire as their solution.

  • It is gallery policy that gloves be worn when handling any of LeMarchand's creations or replicas.

  • so his hands won't melt from evil

  • It would be complete when it would play that one piano Hellraiser song.

  • My mistake, i ment the

Hellraiser Soundtrack 07 - Seduction and Pursuit

song (intro of it), i once heard it as a piano version but this one seems like it really comes from a music box.

  • isnt it called the lament configuration?

  • Yes. It has also been known as "The Box of Sorrows."

This is a special all black etched version of The Lament Configuration made by Pyramid-Gallery which goes by the name LeMarchand's Black Box of Mourning.

  • That's the best thing I've seen in years. However, I have an issue with the winding mechanism. As we've all seen in the Hellraiser movies, one rotates the central disc counter-clockwise to open the gates. This music box works by winding it clockwise.

Granted, a clockwise wind is standard for nearly everything, however, I really feel it should be wound counter-clockwise. Is the music box-like tune in the movie copyrighted? Otherwise, a tune closer resembling would be creepier :-D

  • When the light dimmed a bit before the segment with the actual box ended, that just creeped me out! I thought it was going to suddenly burst open and chains would come through the screen and grab me!

  • Is that all it does?

  • I want one, i want one, i want one.

  • Why are you wearing latex gloves?

  • It is gallery policy that gloves be worn when handling any of LeMarchand's creations or replicas.

  • badass

  • so amazing. i want to knwo more of this.

  • I dont imagine Pin head plaing with that...

  • from what movie is that last sequence ? thx !

  • happy feet ! :)

  • What is the song it is playing?

  • Tchaikovsky's Arabian Dance

  • @404FatalError Thanks.

  • What exactly is it? I've only seen this in hellraiser, and no quite sure....is it just a puzzle or something more?

  • majewda. this is an ancient music box. i am not sure if it was created bye lemarchand himself . but.... im going to have to look into it

  • you do realize it was all based off a movie series? nothing paranormal, pretty much a movie prop

  • @majewda if you solve the puzzle it opens a gateway to hell and summons the Cenobites. In the original book they let you decide to go with them or not... in the movies they just drag you ass with them.

  • @Jagonath Show me.

  • I've never seen one like that available for purchase. Did you make it yourself?

It's much better than the "screamin" model kit.

  • Thank you for your compliments, Phantomzone! Pyramid-Gallery has been producing variations of Philip LeMarchand's Lament Configuration since 2001. You can visit our gallery at:

  • Thank you! I appreciate it very much.

  • you can get puzzle boxes that actually open when you press buttons on the sides in the right order. how cool would it be if these did that

  • That isn't the same tune from the film. Why is that?

  • I would love to acquire the rights to do the Christopher Young theme someday. Another problem beyond the copyright issue is the cost of having a particular piece of music made into a musical movement. You usually have to order at least a thousand pieces at the setup. This is not something that is feasible for me at this time. Baby steps...

  • Understandable. All that red tape is quite a pain.

  • Are these just musoc boxes,or actual puzzles?

  • These boxes are truly superb! The best i have seen yet. This man is an artisan comparable to LeMarchand himself. Or mabye its him and hes still alive?

  • I recently got one of these and they are gorgeous. Very beautifully made. If you are a fan of this movie or just the box itself this is definitely a must have. Thank You Lichtor!

  • do anyone here think its possible to build the lemarchandbox on garrys mod?

  • ummm creepy.

    just evil and creepy...

i just read up on lemarchand..lol

and now i feel creeped out..

  • That box is gorgeous. Been a minor fan of the movie, but for some strange reason, have always been fascinated with the box. I'll have to wait til after the holidays though as Christmas has wiped me out.

  • I wonder if a box could be made using hydraulics and really small motors? In the movies they have to press it down after pulling it up and turning. hydraulic pumps could create resistance giving the person the feeling of having to press it and not just drop it down. hmm.

  • It would have been better with the puzzle box theme. that would make it creepy and entertaining at the same time.

  • I'm back! This is the coolest box ever!

  • $180.00! I guess raising Hell isn't cheap :-p

  • You can make your own offer through Pyramid-Gallery's eBay auctions.

    "What's your pleasure, Sir?"

  • can I get an url for their ebay store?

  • woot! fancy! *"gotta catch'em all cubes" activated*

  • i want it! ^_^

  • Lovely! The rubber gloves are for not staining the brass, I wager...

  • That is soo damn cool. Hope it's not too expensive

  • ohh... believe me, they are.

  • Why does the person wears gloves for?

  • must be expensive....fragile. i want one too!

  • or maybe to help the latex "grip" the little disk?

  • The box can be found online at Pyramid-Gallery.
