thanks, i heard this on the radio in december and have been trying to find this ever since. i mean a lot of people did this song but i couldn't find who sung it so thanks again.
I fell in love with this song when I first heard and it is very calming to me to know that Jesus came down to take the sin upon himself, When I was younger I almost attempted suicide on christmas morning but this song came on and thats pretty all I can remember of that. So thanks for posting, thanks for saving my life. May God Bless you from me and the rest of the marines all over the world!
Idea: is it even a good idea to attempt to spread hate under a video with a song about the Prince of Peace, one who showed compassion to even those who got "religion" wrong? I mean really Christ wasn't into hate AT All. We really should just need to comment on how wonderful the video is, not have to correct hateful assumptions about a group of people who are our brothers and sisters in Christ; fellow sinners and saints. For that matter, lldoolj, this is a wonderful video, thanks for posting it.
@Gilrohir Hoo-fucking-rah! thanks for speaking your mind like that and the true meaning of christmas and the real reason that Christ was sent. GOD bless you and merry Gilrohir from me and all the other marines out there.
My point is you can't have a go at Catholics, or anyone for that matter, without looking at your own faith tradition and acknowledging the problems it, itself, contains. Besides no one has the right to judge others; that belongs to God alone, disagree and debate, but to call something completely heretical is not our right, when oneself is flawed. Most Catholics and other Christians have an honest desire to serve God and that is enough, one should not judge what they do to do the serving.
As a Protestant I can say that the Protestant Churches have made huge mistakes, as bad as the Catholic Church has in the past. For example social darwinism, banning dancing, singing, directing witch hunts (Salem Witch Trials for one) and so on. Also every church has and adds traditions. Yes we can debate over ones that can be seen as erroneous, but every church has that problem, not just Catholics who have done a remarkable job in doing critical reflections on their faith in the last century.
@Gilrohir Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm not simply talking here about "erroneous traditions", I'm addressing the unfruitful WORKS of DARKNESS, which, as true beilevers in the Bible, we are commanded to EXPOSE.
HERETICAL teachings, which lead to ETERNAL DAMNATION of souls, should be exposed and rejected, regardless of whether it's source is Catholic or Protestant. True Christians should ONLY be following what the BIBLE teaches, and not any particular man-made denomination.
@shiphrahhopeful Jesus taught that there are other messengers besides him that have equally true messages. He taught us that we should judge a message as a tree is judged by the quality of its fruit, for a good tree does not bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
Christians follow what Christ taught. That's what the word "Christian" means.
@bumbro07 "other messengers"?What Bible are you reading? Jesus said "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE,NO MAN GOES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME" Jn.14:6 As far as fruit goes, the monstrosity of the Inquisition stands before mankind as the ultimate evidence of the inherent Satanism of the Roman Catholic Church. For those who have the courage to examine this ultimate "rotten fruit", they will see the truth of the Catholic Church. The Bible tells us that a Leopard does not change its spots. Jer.13:23
As the "Word of God made Flesh" said, "it's not me, but the Father Who sent Me." Most of the prophets have said the same thing and prohibited statues or drawings of themselves, reminding us that even if they were called "Son of God" or "King of Kings" they were still just the messengers for the Highest Power.
All religions are branches of the same tree, each given to Humanity according to its need at the time. They all have the same, fundamental, and universal truth.
Love is the message that Jesus brought to Earth for us crazy, messed up people. That's what Evangelicals are supposed to be spreading. Love for God and for your neighbour are the most important tenets of Christ's message (and arguably for the whole of Humanity).
@bumbro07 Repentance is the message that Jesus brought to Earth. He showed love, by confronting and warning sinners to "REPENT OR PERISH!" Luke 13:3.The BIBLE is the authority, not man-made religion and rules, which Jesus rebuked and spoke out against. Roman Catholicism ADDS tradition, salvation through ceremonies, purgatory, popes, and councils, etc., which CONTRADICT the Bible. Christ is now in heaven (Heb.10:11-12, Acts 3:21), not in a wafer.
what *I* don't get is how people seem to think that this song in and of itself is giving glory to Mary. Look at the lyrics for goodness sake.
---This, this is christ the king,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The babe, the son of mary! ---
Just posting the chorus for this purpose. The reason it puts in "The son of Mary" isn't because it's giving GLORY to her, it's because of the fact that it is TRUE that he was born of the virgin Mary.
@UsagiArwen - in continuation...I'm an avid believer that we should not worship Mary. We should worship God because he had the power to use Mary as the mother of Jesus. But I absolutely adore this song because of the beauty of it. Because it's true that This is Christ the King, whom shepards guard and angels sing. It's just stating a point about who his mother is. I don't worship her just because I enjoy this song. Lighten up a little people.
I am not condemning anyone. I'm simply informing you, as a warning, of the spiritually lethal beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic institution. I'm presenting the truth. If you choose to turn away from that truth, that's your fault, which God WILL condemn you for, if you do not repent.
@shiphrahhopeful Maybe you haven't heard of it but a little reformation called Vatican II took place within the Catholic Church during the 60's. The effect of this reformation caused the church to turn its worship much more strictly on Christ than anyone else. Also, becky221 shouldn't have to defend her beliefs from your constant attacks. And yes, you are condemning others.
@dgray51001 Roman Catholicism has not, and in fact cannot change her gross errors regarding salvation. The Vatican II Council did not remove the more than one hundred anathemas (curses) pronounced by the Council of Trent on the Protestant churches and beliefs.
It matters not whether the mass is said in Latin, English, or Swahili.Changing the language doesn't change the idolatrous teachings of the Mass and the required worship of the wafer-god, the cookie turned into Jesus, or Mary worship.
@shiphrahhopeful you really need to work on your evangelization skills. Even if there is truth to what you say about the Catholic church (which I'll probably catch hell about for using the word "if") you're not going to get anyone to change that way. Evangelization, which is the mission set upon all Christians, is about compassion which literally means "to suffer with."
My point is, don't spit out all your historical knowledge and expect myself and others to actually leave the Catholic church.
@shiphrahhopeful There is no wafer worship, or Mary worship in the Catholic Church. Worship is reserved for God/Christ alone. Catholics reenact the Last Supper during Mass because Christ asked that believers do it in memory of him.
Catholics do not worship Mary, they ask her to pray for them. Much like prayer circles common in other denominations. Mary was known for having spoken beautiful prayers for people in need while she was alive. So, Catholics as her to help them out with their prayers
@bumbro07 Mary was the mother of Jesus AS A MAN.He ALWAYS existed as God. (John 1:1-3;8:57-58).
Mary was a virgin at Jesus' birth (Mat.1:23, 25, Luke 1:27). Later, Jesus had brothers & sisters (Mat. 12:46; 13:55-56;Mark 3:31; 6:3, Lk 8:19, Jn 2:12). These were NOT spiritual brothers of Jesus. She is no longer a virgin.
Jesus did NOT encourage glorification of Mary (Luke 11:27-28, Mat. 12:46-50, Mark 3:31-35).
OBEY MARY'S ONE COMMANDMENT! "Whatsoever HE [JESUS] says to you, DO IT" (John 2:5).
Ok I don't understand how you think this is Christian!! The whole song is giving glory to Mary!! and Mary was just the vessel to bring Christ to the world this is 100% catholic. I have proof if anyone wants to learn something new.
Plus look at 0:30 and how mary has the light around her head that is pagan standing for the egyptian sun god.
1:37 is 1000% catholic look at all the sun gods around their heads.2:41 as well.
Halos are not specific to Christianity but it's a bit silly to claim that they're specific to paganism either. Halos, as used by Christians, are not pagan. They're certainly not exclusively Egyptian in any case...
@mitherhobo16 If you were acquainted with the teachings of Roman Catholicism and the message of the Bible, you would know of the IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES between the two. I encourage you to watch the video which is on my favorites list on my channel titled, "Catholic Truths".
@serenityluvsgod I watched your video on "Cathoic Truths." Does God want us bashing on other religions? No. Does God want people to fight over different religions? No. "There are so many religions and each one has its different ways of following God." -Mother Teresa. I am happy as a Catholic. Who are you to judge me and say that I will go to hell for practicing this religion? Look up Matthew 7. That clearly puts your video under a category that goes against what the Bible says.
@becky221 Warning others about the false, idolatrous, Roman Catholic institution, is not bashing. You shouldn't follow Mother Teresa, you should ONLY follow Jesus Christ. Jesus said that He is the ONLY WAY to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the door: BY ME if any man enter in, he shall be saved" (Jn.10:9). Notice He didn't say the Roman Catholic Institution is the way to be saved. In fact, Jesus openly and harshly rebuked man-made religious systems that teach contrary to the Holy Scriptures.
@becky221 "Now while (the Apostle) Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to IDOLATRY. Therefore DISPUTED he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market DAILY with them that met with him." Acts 17:16-17
The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, DISPUTED BOLDLY against other religions concerning the truth of God, and exposed IDOLATRY. See also Acts 19:8.
@becky221 In case you don't know, "idolatry" is worshipping anyone or anything (Mary, statues, etc) other than Jesus Christ, which includes praying, bowing before & kissing images, Popes, so-called "veneration", etc. IT WILL SEND YOU TO HELL, UNLESS YOU REPENT AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST ALONE. Read Rev.21:8, 1Cor. 6:9-10, Exodus 20:4-5.
@becky221 I am not condemning anyone. I am simply informing you, as a warning, of the spiritually lethal beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic institution. I'm presenting the truth. If you choose to turn away from that truth, that's your fault, which God WILL condemn you for, if you do not repent.

@becky221 If you read Matthew 7 verses 1-5, you will understand what Jesus was teaching, in CONTEXT. He was teaching against hypocrisy. If you FIRST remove the beam (or sin) in your own life, then you can see clearly enough to help and judge others. In fact, the Bible teaches us to be fruit inspectors. We are to judge, which is why Jesus taught us to be LIGHT in this dark, sinful world. But darkness doesn't like to be exposed. "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light..."John 3:19

Reasons NOT to ASK Mary for things, or pray to her:
Jesus said, "This is how you are to pray:"...Our Father" (Mat.6:9)
Jesus is the ONLY mediator (1 Tim.2:5-6). He puts us directly in touch with God by taking away the sins that separate us (John 14:6).
Jesus did not grant everything Mary asked. (Mark 3:31-35).
Mary HERSELF offered a sacrifice for HER purification (Lk 2:22-24) just like other Hebrew women. (Lev.12).

@becky221 I am not condemning anyone. I'm simply informing you, as a warning, of the spiritually lethal beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic institution. I'm presenting the truth. If you choose to turn away from that truth, that's your fault, which God WILL condemn you for, if you do not repent.
