I fell in love with this song when I first heard and it is very calming to me to know that Jesus came down to take the sin upon himself, When I was younger I almost attempted suicide on christmas morning but this song came on and thats pretty all I can remember of that. Idea: is it even a good idea to attempt to spread hate under a video with a song about the Prince of Peace, one who showed compassion to even those who got "religion" wrong? My point is you can't have a go at Catholics, or anyone for that matter, without looking at your own faith tradition and acknowledging the problems it, itself, contains. Besides no one has the right to judge others; that belongs to God alone, disagree and debate, but to call something completely heretical is not our right, when oneself is flawed. Most Catholics and other Christians have an honest desire to serve God and that is enough, one should not judge what they do to do the serving.

As a Protestant I can say that the Protestant Churches have made huge mistakes, as bad as the Catholic Church has in the past. For example social darwinism, banning dancing, singing, directing witch hunts (Salem Witch Trials for one) and so on. Also every church has and adds traditions. Yes we can debate over ones that can be seen as erroneous, but every church has that problem, not just Catholics who have done a remarkable job in doing critical reflections on their faith in the last century.

Luke 13:3.The BIBLE is the authority, not man-made religion and rules, which Jesus rebuked and spoke out against. The effect of this reformation caused the church to turn its worship much more strictly on Christ than anyone else. Also, becky221 shouldn't have to defend her beliefs from your constant attacks. @dgray51001 Roman Catholicism has not, and in fact cannot change her gross errors regarding salvation. The Vatican II Council did not remove the more than one hundred anathemas (curses) pronounced by the Council of Trent on the Protestant churches and beliefs.

It matters not whether the mass is said in Latin, English, or Swahili.Changing the language doesn't change the idolatrous teachings of the Mass and the required worship of the wafer-god, the cookie turned into Jesus, or Mary worship.

Even if there is truth to what you say about the Catholic church (which I'll probably catch hell about for using the word "if") you're not going to get anyone to change that way. @shiphrahhopeful There is no wafer worship, or Mary worship in the Catholic Church. Worship is reserved for God/Christ alone. Catholics reenact the Last Supper during Mass because Christ asked that believers do it in memory of him.

Catholics do not worship Mary, they ask her to pray for them. Much like prayer circles common in other denominations. Mary was known for having spoken beautiful prayers for people in need while she was alive. So, Catholics as her to help them out with their prayers

Jesus said, "This is how you are to pray:"...Our Father" (Mat.6:9)

Jesus is the ONLY mediator (1 Tim.2:5-6). He puts us directly in touch with God by taking away the sins that separate us (John 14:6).

Jesus did not grant everything Mary asked. (Mark 3:31-35).

Mary HERSELF offered a sacrifice for HER purification (Lk 2:22-24) just like other Hebrew women. (Lev.12).

Mary was a virgin at Jesus' birth (Mat.1:23, 25, Luke 1:27). Later, Jesus had brothers & sisters (Mat. 12:46; 13:55-56;Mark 3:31; 6:3, Lk 8:19, Jn 2:12). These were NOT spiritual brothers of Jesus. She is no longer a virgin.

Jesus did NOT encourage glorification of Mary (Luke 11:27-28, Mat. 12:46-50, Mark 3:31-35).

OBEY MARY'S ONE COMMANDMENT! "Whatsoever HE [JESUS] says to you, DO IT" (John 2:5).

@becky221 If you read Matthew 7 verses 1-5, you will understand what Jesus was teaching, in CONTEXT. He was teaching against hypocrisy. If you FIRST remove the beam (or sin) in your own life, then you can see clearly enough to help and judge others. In fact, the Bible teaches us to be fruit inspectors. We are to judge, which is why Jesus taught us to be LIGHT in this dark, sinful world. But darkness doesn't like to be exposed. "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light..."John 3:19
