dont for get to drain it before the winter if it frezes it will split that copper great job looks good 2350 im not sure if you wil ever recoupe that but good luck
@iwantosavemoney pipes don't freeze around here mate...and with the tank hooked up to all taps two toilets, two showers and the washing machine...I'm pretty sure it will pay off...I mean the maths aren't that hard so i don't know exactly how you have based your claim that it may not "recoup"
@cyber8000 Australia is the driest continent on earth mate...therefore, good old Aussie insight has determined that large rainwater tanks in backyards are a must...cheap also. We don't have silly rain barrels like you Americans....we go the whole hog!!!!!
@cookamidgera if you only use it to water plants and fill the pool i would just thinking it would take a long time to pay off but, if you are using it for the whole house you should be able to recoup it preatty fast do you have to filter the water and how does it do with fixtures do you have a softer or do you need one ?
@iwantosavemoney No we do not have to filter the water. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a "softer" but if you are thinking that the water is hard water and will not lather soaps, then this is not the case....rainwater is softer then our town water supply.
@cookamidgera well that is good to know im thinking about building me a tank to do the same thing you are doing after i get a little more information i also want the wast water to drain back into my garden im just not sure if we get enoff rain i need to research it more to find out how much rain we get a year and the square feet of roof i have to find out how big of at tank i will need to build any ideaa where i can find this information?
@cookamidgera no im in the us i live in oklahoma it is in the middle of the us i have started looking for more information on this it is cool to know that some stuff you can provide by your self with no in put from the city my goal is to be 100 off grid and with the help of people like you that are helping people like me do all things that thay need to do to get in that mode of retiring
What a Beautiful Job! Not only does it do a wonderful job of holding your water, but it LOOKS fantastic too. I would be so proud of one that looks so nice. Most don't take that into consideration when they want to collect water. Congratulations on a Job well done!
These can also be used in an emergency for putting out fires. Nice setup, been working on something similar to that.
