Layne's life fits the very definition of irony. He wanted to be a celebrity just so he can see his father, who left him when he was just a boy, and when he finally reunited with him, his father pretty much ruined his life. They did all those drugs together and when his father kicked the habit, Layne was left struggling the rest of his life trying to get clean. It's sad really...
