Right now, in the states where rodeos operate, rodeo/livestock are specifically exempted from animal cruelty laws and that needs to change. All animals should be protected.

I heard it said, that God gave man dominion over beasts. How exactly is rodeo cruel, a 200 lb man is not hurting a 2 thousand pound bull by trying to ride it, the bull usually wins anyway and always leaves the ring on his own feet, unlike some poor riders. I've never seen a bull cry, or care about animal cruelty to cowboys. Roping contests, I've never seen a critter not get up and run around afterwards. Rodeo is not bullfighting, or worse than processors who kill and can your food for money.

while i agree with what you are doing (bringing to light the harsh reality of rodeo) i do have to question the validity of these calls. though its quite possible that the same person called twice((second person in call 6) only listened to call 5 and 6) im not sure it makes much sense. but i could be totally wrong *shrug* but i do agree the harshness/abuse needs to be brought to light so i thank you for that. i have 4 horses of my own and would kill someone if they hurt them.

@clevelandty - I don't doubt you spend more money on your horses (the ones you ride at least) but what about the ones that are used for rodeo? How does their journey to the butchers look? Can they smell and hear the horses before them being butchered? Are they scared when they are in the ring? Do they hurt themselves? They try to communicate with you, "I submit", they try everything, running into the fence, bucking, licking their lips. They are terrified. Where's all your love then?

But my entire family is involved in rodeo and every single member of my family holds at the minimum a bachelors most hold masters or higher. We are not uneducated we love our animals, I spend more money taking care of my horses monthly then I do on myself.

I heard it said, that God gave man dominion over beasts. How exactly is rodeo cruel, a 200 lb man is not hurting a 2 thousand pound bull by trying to ride it, the bull usually wins anyway and always leaves the ring on his own feet, unlike some poor riders. I've never seen a bull cry, or care about animal cruelty to cowboys. Roping contests, I've never seen a critter not get up and run around afterwards. Rodeo is not bullfighting, or worse than processors who kill and can your food for money.
