I'll stick with Ben Lawry, Nigel Foster or Brent Reitz (depending on my goal) for forward stroke instruction - this guy has good intentions, but I used to paddle like that and it really wastes energy. You need energy for later in the trip...
You guys are dumb. He wasn;t saying to watch your blade he was saying to watch your blade to learn turning because turning your head naturally turns your body. Same as spinning in the air while snowboarding. This video is for newbies. If you are such a great kayaker, wtf are you watching this anyways?
Power on the stroke all the way back? I don't agree with that. No need to power past the hip. Some say the knee. Keep the stroke and the power up front. rotate from the hips. Pull the boat to the paddle. Push the boat with the legs.
Utter rubbish, body rotation a good thing. looking at your paddle Never teach this it will take months to get out of this kind of habit, Alex got it spot on above. exept the bit about ok for beginners. start the right way from the beginning is better
Punch forward with the non business end of the paddle not pulling with the business end, everyone to their own way I guess but I certainly would consider doing that way, seems like a lot of work
the blade isnt supposed to come past your hips at all, and after that bit demonstration peope would think you have to come right to the stern of the boat with the blade. also its generally better to look where your paddling to rather than where your paddle is else how will you see obstructions etc??
Nice nutcase.... it took me two months to get my gf out of the very novice habit of looking at the "business end" of the paddle.... Great kayak and audio for his demo :)

After a full day of paddling my arm muscles are ok, but I get deep pains between my neck and shoulders. What am I doing wrong?

Well, you have to let your arms bend to some extent, and you can combine torso power with some arm power.

It seems every expert village video they have gives away false info, its getting old

This is exactly the type of poor technique that takes me months to cure with my students. Please don't post this kind of misinformation.

Lets be productive.
Terminology is a little,,, off.
Torso rotation is pretty cool.
The bent elbows will make for more effort than I put in.
Choice of demo boats seams strange at first blush but there are more rec boats out there than NDK Greenlander Pro's or Explorers.
Legs braced, explaining pushing the boat with your feet and perhaps a skirt would add a little.
I suspect this is for beginners and is fine for that purpose.
Advanced??? no.

This is one of the most lame examples of the forward stroke I have ever seen. I am speechless. Two words: Ben Lawry.
