Neurologically, you can get some various activity with this movement but there is no such thing as working the outter or inner chest. Isolation is a myth but that's what bodybuilders live by. Also if you arch your back too much you go into hyperextension thus loading the discs of the L4-L5, which can over time become irritated unless you have a pre-existing injury then it will give you a lot of problems.
i dont like this trainers advice, this exercise is a complete chest movement, since incorporating this exercise into my routine my chest has fulled out and my upper chest has become fuller, stronger, and more defined. i start off with this exercise also to pump my chest up before flat and incline, then return with heavier weight (80-100lbs) to finish my chest off, feels great. quick way to warm up and finish off. and i have gottn great results with heavier weight 6-8reps
@JD12111211 also, my gym has fully adjustable crossovers, so incline, shoulder height, and finally decline. so about 6 sets to start off 10-12 reps. 9 sets to finish with 8-10 reps. three at each .
HELP PLEASE, when i do cable crossovers feel it in the shoulders, and i did what he said don't go to far back but i still feel it more in the shoulders not in the chest and it's pissing me off
Your elbows may not be bent enough, or it's possible that your shoulders are lacking strength and behind your chest. In this case your shoulders need to catch up.
i did not know about the last one. I'm gonna do it the next time I work my chest. thanks :D

when u take it lower it works the outside and lower chest as u said. the first movement works which part ?

When he does the exercise in front of him, rather in that lower position...it will focus in the inner contraction right?

Yes, it will hit the inner chest when you get a good squeeze directly in front of the chest.

@lokrenzo This is an isolation technique so don't worry so much about weight. Pick a weight you can use proper form for about 10-12 reps
