There is a safety training program by the ADAC in germany where ppl learn to behave if they loose control of th car and/or sliding around which is called "Fahrsicherheitstraining". The driver suggests the boy passes that program first.

The Mk3 GTI was very mediocre unless its 16v and the MK4 GTI is even worse than that. However a good Mk3 VR6 or R32 is a pretty special car.
