Why is it that people conveniently forget that Celestia didn't send Luna to the Moon? She sent Nightmare Moon, you know, the pony that wanted to bring eternal night all over the world which would cause untold damage to the environment and eventually death? Tough decision, but it had to be done, and Nightmare Moon was probably in suspended animation not noticing the time passing, while Celesita had to live with the guilt for 1000 years. Yeah, Celestia is the one at fault here.

The tyrant banished her younger daughter to the moon because she wanted more attention. I personally think it was unfair for Luna to get the time when it's most boring in the first place.
