  • am i the only person who thinks this was targeting apple's iphone with the multitasking

  • "DROID" lol...

  • GET'`:A;.,FREE:;:DROID:`.PHONE:.,

  • Look sir, Droids!

  • Funny, everyone here mentions Mass Effect or Modern Warfare~

...am I the only one who still sees Henricksen as: Bishop?

  • General Shepherd has a droid? C001 B34N$.

  • Lance Henriksen FTW!

  • The narrator in these ads is freakin badass.

  • @JrgrimWoW

He just happens to be the same voice actor that did General Shepard's voice in MW2.

  • Duly noted, Admiral Hackett.

Or General Shepard, if MW2 is more your thing.

  • @mechanixis I KNEW that voice sounded familiar!!! He also did the beginning Sony PS3 ads as well.

  • Look exactly at the app the finger is pointing at 0:07.. Abduction! :D

  • @hettbeans It's no problem for me to root, because I'm a savvy Droid user. However, most Droid users are "end-users" and have no idea how to root and now that 2.1 has been released, it's even harder. The fragmentation issue might actually be a non-issue if said parties stay consistent with releasing OS updates. However, like I said, games will never be good just as long as Android devices are limited to the internal RAM on the phone.

  • @Chrisfromlehigh Yeah, I saw that! Flippin' awesome!!!

  • The other voice over person was much better. This guy sounds so lame. What the hell. Why did they replace him???

  • @Vux911 Are you kidding? Listen closely. That voice is the fuckin voice of Admiral Hackett from Mass Effect!!! FUCKIN AWESOME!

  • about time they make new commericals

  • I am glad to see Verizon making more Droid commercials.

  • Droid is great, and it can stand its own with upcoming Android devices. Google is working on fixing the fragmentation by pushing 2.1 on most,if not all, current android devices.

  • Who directed these? It's beautiful

  • These adds are awesome. But, I'm still not going to buy one. Because I have no money. :D

  • Yes, the iphone is an awesom device and so is the droid. They are just different.

  • ppl yall need to seriously chill. there just showing how amazing it is(: okayy iphone and droid are both amazing now shutup(:

  • But this is a cool commercial and I'm a PROUD Droid owner and Android user. Just offering a bit of constructive criticism. :-)

    Apple is gay.

  • And what about being able to save apps to our SD cards? The games and apps on Android will never be as good as Iphone's if this isn't implemented. Oh, and by the way, Google/Android better get this fragmentation s**t under control. You're doing nothing but fostering and breeding in-fighting and jealousy between the various Android device owners. Do any of you fucks have brains in your heads?! My goodness.

  • @Chrisfromlehigh You sound like a pretty angry guy.

FYI, if you haven't rooted and solved every complaint you've just mentioned, you deserve to be having them.

  • @Chrisfromlehigh Most game do not store the whole game on the internal memory. They store just the launcher and all the game files goto SD. Try it install a game launch it and swap out you SD you will see it redownload the game files.

As to fragmentation it is no worse then the Iphone. Have an app that use the compass? Only good on the 3GS. GPS based? Guess no one with an Ipad or Ipod Touch will get that one. Speaking of the Ipad all those apps being designed for it will only be ran on it.

  • @tagon42 In fact I do not have a single app on my Nexus One that my buddy can't run on his G1 the original Android device. The only people left behind are those that are running phones with custom overlays from the phone manufactures still on 1.5

  • @tagon42 Good reply! Thanks! In terms of fragmentation, I meant both apps and O.S. However, since all Android devices will soon be on varying versions of 2.1 (even the G1 I believe), it's not that big of an issue (as long as Android and phone manufacturers stay consistent with releasing OS updates to all devices).

  • And why the F**K didn't we get FULL 2.1. I want a 3D app drawer, dammit!!! And 3 home screens? Are you serious?

  • @Chrisfromlehigh The 3d app drawer is unstable on the droid because we have a keyboard that opens up and puts it in landscape. If you want the next best thing to the 3d app drawer and more home screens get the "helix launcher" in the market for free.

  • @Zbreter Thanks buddy. However, the 3D app drawer works fine IF you are rooted and use certian ROMs (NextBeast, Cyanogen, BB v0.9). I've used the 3D app drawer when I had the NextBeast and Cyanogen ROMs (works in landscape too and is very stable). However, you're right that if you're not running a custom rom, the app drawer is not stable at all.

  • @Chrisfromlehigh 3D app launcher is now available for download for STOCK android 2.1-update1 DROID works great for me so far...

  • @flip5621 That was directed to you

  • @flip5621 If people don't have it, download helixlauncher.

  • It's about damn time they came up with a new commercial. Geez. Who gives a f**k about doing a search for "human"?
