  • US$40 billion development for boring circuit in a boring country...

  • is this in slow motion??lol

  • This f1 based on Arrow 1998 modified version

  • fuck up cunt

  • It would be nice if the cars in the game f1 2010 had this kind of deep "full" kind of sound.

  • @Blain1971 it's because he's driving slowly

  • @mouloudo Maybe, still would be nice though.

  • This is the single most horrible race track in F1.

  • Yas Marina: The most boring circuit in Formula 1.

  • А мне нравится))) Yas Marina the best and abu-dhabi forever

  • needs more up and down . its just flat the whole way

  • sounds like ayrton's 1994 car.

  • I want 5:09 minutes of my life back.....

  • it's bruno senna!

  • whats that for a f1 car?

  • mmh

  • this sport is completely new to me and i know this is probably a stupid question but what is the difference between F1 and Indi?

  • Formula 1 teams design and build their own cars from scratch according to the regulations set forth by the governing body, unlike Indy, in which the teams race the same specification cars. The races are only held on road courses which turn left and right (unlike most Indy races). The regulations between Indy and Formula 1 are completely different and they are not affiliated with each other in any way.

  • Indy car is designed more for top speed, whereas an F1 car is designed for the fastest acceleration. Whick simply means that its always on the limit. So F1 is not the fastest formula in the world, instead its the fastest accelerating formula.

    Cheers!

  • I was walking there yesterday

  • Great design, but I've a feeling that the amount of sand and dust which will always be off the racing line will prevent the overtaking that the track design is meant to encourage. Here's hoping I'm proved wrong in the next few years...

  • This track looks dull to spectators but an amazin challenge for the cars and drivers who actually race it..

  • @JackRABBITslim27 doesnt seem like such a tough track, not close to the challenges of Suzuka, no progressive radius / double apex corner, no elevation changes... although it looks quite hard to pick visual reference points for precise braking...

  • I agree its not as technical as suzuka but lookat 2:56 -3:00 its a long right hander which im sure after 20 laps ur forarms and neck what be feeling the greatest. Then 3:18 - 3:37 will put stress on the engine and brakes after so many laps. Then 3:59 - 4:00 which is a Left, Right, Left, again very stressful on the driver, Though not as bad Suzukas S-Curves. All in all when u put ur self in there shoes its not cake walk

  • @JackRABBITslim27 You do make great points. In that regard, it seems to me that the challenge in F1 racing, is not so much driving the car, it has so many capabilities (like generating its own weight in downforce below 100kph), but to do it with such quickness while supporting tremendous g-forces. Very different from stock racing, v8supercars would be my favorite, where the challenge is the car itself, its weight, high CG and massive torque on limited tire surface.

  • I bet at least half the field will go straight on on the first lap instead turns 5-6 before the hairpin.

Actually, that's what they should've made the default.

  • é o bruno senna?

  • There was a report the first GP2 race about 4 days ago was stopped. Basically the barrier control err "person" left his post and 2 indian drivers drove their truck onto the track during the race.

The race was stopped immediately and ADMM were fumming.

Has this hit the press anywhere yet?

  • @mydusty4x4 dont think there has been any press coverage of this. but since i was a flag marshal opposite to the 'open' barrier, ive seen it happening. the barrier was not been assigned control by a marshal and since it was the first race, a construction truck driver (a man from pakistan or afghanisatan, not INDIAN!) drove into the track to get into his next assigned 'job' a little ahead in the track. And the correction for the nationality of that person is because i am Indian. =) sorry.

  • @mydusty4x4 ADMM was sure fuming, but it was in their own way, their fault in not assigning guards at the open barriers. After the incident, all the barrier openings were tied chains across and manned by security. so, All is Well! =)

  • So many different layouts.

  • im pretty sure those cars are Paul Stoddart's old 2 seaters he built while he owned Minardi, if memory serves they are based on the 1998 Tyrrell car

  • Really dull track. Unless you're into flashy, showoff, bling nonsense instead real driving excitement. Give me Spa or Suzuka any day.

  • Did u see the F1 Race today..Not at all dull..Its a drivers track..Not a spectators track..It was the whole Talk during the F1 Race

  • Stop and go track to me :(

  • typical hermann tilke design

  • How much did they pay the workers who built the track? Not that much, I would guess

  • Lewis Hamilton pole and in pit...one hole lap with fuel rig on!!

  • The pit exit needs a little booth like you pay your parking fee at in a garage, and a stop arm (that would be for the parking booth's benefit and Lewis Hamilton too).

  • I think there will happen a accident in the pitlane. the sharp corners under the bridgde are very critical. and drivers, who are pushing, will maybe make some mistakes

  • tooooooooo many, especially at the marina part!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is a veeeeeeeeeeerrrrryyyyyyyyy looooooooong pitlane

  • That pitlane looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

How many times do you think Grosjean will crash this weekend?

  • jajajaja hell Yeah

    its not nesesary

  • wow the average speed through this thing must be really low... there's barely any long straights

  • It seems like it. They say it has the longest straight in all of F1 though... Also, estimated average speed is supposed to be about 120MPH and top speed is supposed to be just under 200MPH according to the Yas Marina circuit website.

  • I'll have to convert that to metric. I am uneducated in the imperialistic propaganda ;)

  • Its got a lot of corners because tis a short wheel Based track

  • i actually like it alot better than most other tilke tracks. Runoff areas are ALOT smaller than other new tracks

  • Bruno must have been under orders to drive like a sissy with people onboard.

Not very interesting, if you ask me, as this is only good for seeing the tack itself , and nothing else

  • Although I think this is just another example of new Tilke designed (and boring) track, lets say that probably being new it,s surely very dirty and has no rubber at all on it. For sure it´ll get faster along the weekend as the cars pass by.

Being the pitlane exit the most exiting part of the track just shows how boring it seems to be.

  • the track looks pretty lame because the car is going so slow. Once the f1 cars get on it it will look pretty beast.

  • ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz

  • el pit lane no es demasiado peligroso?

  • i love how the pit exit goes under the tr5ack.n they just seem like they build this so fasttttttttttt.didnt it took 2 years? they they had a lot of workin ants buildin bulding n build but itz a OK track

  • Amazing footage. Thanks!

  • Altough this circuit looks pretty unique, i dont see any memorable corners? Old hockenheim and Spa Franchochamps forever!!!

  • Another boring circuit by Hermann Tilke? All circuits should be designer with passing chances as first priority.

  • Yet another soul less new circuit in a country with no real motor sport heritage. Boring.

  • Agree 100%

  • And they're trying to take out Spa or Nurburgring of the 2011 championship...

    Really, really cool (y).

  • i do agree that it hasn't got as much to it as traditional circuits like monza/spa but it takes time to for things like that to build up, this track has alot more to it then bahrain/turkey/china, passing under a hotel that will be lit up come race day will look pretty sweet.

  • so they should build circuits in places where they already have circuits? maybe after 50 years they'll talk about the heritage of the yas marina circuit! as an f1 fan you should be more optimistic

  • hey insulinius, it still hasn't been decided yet, we will see it in November in the race event

  • At least the track makes it possible to have quite a lot of different layouts... chicanes everywhere... i just wonder which of them will be driven and which are just for security purposes...
