Still prefer Adam Pascal's version. I like it done in a more "rock" voice I suppose. I can appreciate that he's a fantastic singer though......those are some killer notes he's producing :) ...but......what is he wearing?! Dear oh dear. It looks like a cross between a chef's jacket and the painting smock my mum made me wear when I was wee.
Take away the Daryl little things he does and this really is the type of voice that character has to have anything operatic just seems so out of place.
Thanks! I saw this on that Saturday in November 1996 and it's stayed with me all my life. The best rendition I've ever heard of a song so difficult, it can make even the most gifted singer sound amateur. Daryl Braithwaite makes it look easy.
Very nice rendition of this song. Performed with genuine feeling and honestly expressed without adding a load of un-needed vocal gymnastics like so many modern singers seems to add (and ultimately ruin the sentiment of the song). Thank you for sharing.
Do you have the Plucka Duck segment to this????

This is indeed a complicated song in its timing. It would take some practice to get it right, and Daryl nailed it. Well done.

He should issue this as a single.
