No, no people. This guy must be stopped. First Jeff Buckley now this. Can't he just stick to schmaltzy pop tunes? This rendition has none of the rhythmic urgency of the original. Liz Fraser owns this tune. Her vocal style is so distinct and unmatchable, just leave it alone please!

I kind of agree with you, though I am a big fan of Jamie (you heard High and Dry).
Saying that, Newton Faulkner has a good go at it.

It's called a COVER. It's not about topping or being better at a song, it's about being different and giving people your own version. In your opinion, this version sucks, but others might feel differently. Personally, I like both versions and I don't see why they can't coexist and both be good.

guyfidelity, I just wanna say I agree with FoxCityFilms.
I like this version almost as much as the original. The original is nearly perfect, but personally I don't like the "distinct and unmatchable vocal style". I agree that it's unique and all, but I just don't like it....
Many people will disagree with me, but let the ones who have a different taste in music have their interpretations of great songs too :)

Well any style, any vocal, is going to be
"distinct" and "unmatchable". So yes the original singer has a unique voice - so does every singer on the planet. Including Jamie - and this was a nice interpretation. .
