  • wonderful...probably this one is the.. i hundredth time that I am listening to this piece!

  • Hi,awesome performance!

By the way, what about the size of the Bass Sax?How long is it and how much does it weigh?

    Dominik,Czech Republic

  • Hello Dominik,

Bass sax is somewhat shorter than 1 and a half meter I guess.

    Weight is about 10 kilo.

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • OOOOKKKKK It finally dawned on me that the guy with the bass sax is the one who posted this video, Mr. Brandsma. As an old sax man I compliment you, Mr. Brandsma. I've played the bass in the past, but not nearly as well as you. I stuck mostly with the tenor or alto. BRAVO.....keep 'em coming. Thanks from the USA.

  • Thanks for the nice compliment! Always good to hear when collegue sax players like your work.

I also started out on the alto and in fact even spend 2 months a year as lead alto in the Cologne Opera house.

But since I started to double on bass in 2004 I loved it and am happy that this band allows me to play it so often.

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • That fellow knows his way around a saxophone......What a smooth, clean attack his has....not always achieved with a bass sax. I've heard some players whose bass playing was little more than a tugboat foghorn. BRAVO !

  • Obrigada por ter aceite o meu video

    como resposta ao seu:D

  • Amazing. Did you make your own arrangements? It's impeccable how well you covered all of the voices with just bass alto and tenor.. though your trumpet tends to go as high as soprano sometimes.

  • We had years with over 200 gigs, so we developped the arrangements during time.

    Thanks for listening.

    BB

  • Exelente todo,me encantó la trombonista!!

    Gracias.

  • Has anybody seen my gal??

  • Yes, that are the correct lyrics of this song. As far as I know there is no male variaton of this song. If you know them, please let me know.

    BB

  • @ticks4ticks4 Sorry, nobody has seen your gal.

  • BASS SAXOPHONEE :D

  • Just found you on You Tube-Fantastic Band.

    Greetings from the UK!!

    Pete

  • Hello Pete,

Thanks for listening. Alas we are fired on the funparc, so that is all history now, but we continue to play elsewhere!

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • @ABrandsma Why were you fired?

  • amazing!! haha love this song, very tight, well played!!!

  • What a great band! I'm a comeback trumpeter, playing again after a LONG absence. Well, the trumpet player in a local dixieland band just quit, and I'm it, for better or worse. We're doing this tune. Thanks for the "lesson" and best wishes from Vermont, USA.

  • has anybody seen my girl?

  • I stumbled upon the One Step video and checked out the rest of the videos and loved the Dixieland Crackerjacks. This is my favorite video from the rest. My high school is actually starting its first dixieland band with me as trumpet but then it won't sound near as good as you guys, we don't have a wide knowledge on music as you guys have but the Dixieland Crackerjacks sure inspire me to be!

  • He, thanks for the compliment! The skills of the band were acquired during a long period, we started out back in 1994. It didn't sound as good then as it does now. We'll hear you guys in a few years!

    Keep up the good work!

    Bert Brandsma

  • I really loved this. Thank you posting it.

  • Whoa!!! I saw a video that a guy was playing this song, but i could not hear it very well... So I found this video and I LOVED YOUR BAND!!!

I am from Brazil, and I didn't know this song...

I have a ska band here, I play drums, and I was searching for a jazz band... And then, I found you!!! Congratulations... I loved it!!!

  • OK, thanks for watching!

    Happy greetings to Brazil,

    Bert Brandsma

  • excellent j'adore :)

  • This is a great band and colourful to watch. Are you going to issue a DVD? The Youtube videos are fine but a bit blurry.

  • There is not that much demand yet to make it intersting to issue an official DVD. Hoverer, I can burn the videos in a better quility on CD-rom or possible DVD.

We ship CD's and CD-rom's worldwide.

    Kind regards,

    Bert Brandsma

  • I found this video because we played this song at a jam session and i loved it so i found you guys and saw your other vids I was wondering do you have a CD i could buy? oh and what kind of banjo is that? Thanks!!
