Things have moved on since the 70's. Googoosh, bless her, is an extremely talented artists and her work of the 70's will never be equalled by anyone, however, she herself has changed a lot since then. For instance, when she sings this today -- it can be read as an ode to her and relationship with her public. They (the public) in essence killed her/career with the revolution, but then ressurected her (dobare zende kardi) 21 years later... :)

My mother tongue is Urdu and I'm from Pakistan. I can understand some of the lyrics of this song as Persian words are part of our language. My ancestors originated from Kerman some 400 years ago and I have always liked Persian music. I saw Googoosh for the 1st time on Pakistan TV before the fall of the Shah and liked her music very much.
