My son is schedule for surgery next month and doctors are just going to install and not as invasive as this video. Is this video for real because I never heared from the doctors that syrnixc be removed.
Syrinx can't be removed. When they do the surgery they try to make it smaller or go away for a short time. but a surgery is very dangerous and should not be until the suffer is too hard for your son. For further information please contact me. I am a member of the german syringolyelia organisation.
@subwaytome dear, my sister suffer this. she cant move her two arm, fingers, and hands, eventhought she got a surgery last year. once her backbone was sick but it is ok now.
@kissmko I hope your son is recovering well. It appears that surgeons used to drain the syrinx with a syringe in the past. I imagine it took some time for them to realize that the results were not worth the risk. A shunt is more effective as it continues to drain the syrinx, but over time it becomes clogged with scar tissue.
