  • My dad told me that he remembered watching the game on tv where Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's homerun record. I wouldn't remember because I wasn't even born yet. Haha!

  • @pytko3 .....great story....

  • I wonder how many roids Hank Aaron ingested during his looooong career. Dam hipocrits...you going to sit there and tell me Hank Aaron never took anything during his entire career??? nothing? not even amphetimines? ..something to help him get through a game or a double header??? ROFL...yea right!

Wake up morons! Baseball has been tainted since the 1800's...Ty Cobb...OMG can you imagine the shit he ingested? ROFL

Hall of Fame...WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!

  • Baseball fans are such morons. You're all probably atleast 35 arguing over your "heroes". Is work slow at the cubicle today? Probably a bunch of suburban white guys with goatees and a gut too. LAME

  • I wish I could have experienced this amazing moment.

  • FACT: up until 1931, ground rule doubles were considered home runs.babe ruth played until 1935. Talk about tainted statistics!

  • 1. Hank aaron

    2. Babe ruth

    3. Willie mays

  • how did aaron hit all those bombs without the juice? maybe a little sumpin called talent and sheer will. i was a 15 yr old white kid from texas on vacation when i saw him hit # 610 off steve carlton in atlanta. never had another sports moment to equal it. thank you mr. aaron.

  • @jr55ful

And time. Big factor. He had a very long, consistent career.

  • @jr55ful It was talent. Unlike many power hitters, Aaron also hit for average. From looking at his career stats, he wasn't really considered a threat. Aaron only led league in intentional walks once, which suprises me.

  • i ment eye doctor lol

  • One of the fans that ran onto the field and pated hank aaron on the back is my dentist

  • @ballin648 shut the fuck up asshole you just sound fucking dumb go kill yourself

  • HGH has no place in the HOF

  • i hope bonds is never in the HOF, that would suck

  • @jesse0576 bullshit he was clean

  • barry give hank his record back, you don't deserve it...

  • And Aaron did it by being steady...naturally. 755 HR despite never hitting more than 47 HRs in a season.

  • Aaron is the true homerun king, he did not use steroids

  • I will say if people could knock Hank Aaron off they would do that to rether you people wanna say it or not the only reason people is on Barry Bonds case is because he is black yall would not be doin this is he was white. Big Mac from the Cardinals dont get talked about and i bet you losers think he is great and he said he used them but yall dont pay attention to that noooooooooooo you gotta pick on the Black man and those of you that dont like what i said go fuck your self.

  • Great trivia... besides hitting #715 off of #44 (Downing), Henry also tied for the league lead in homers one year with one of my other all-time faves, Willie McCovey, #44 of the Giants... and they each hit 44! I used to have a bat with Willie Mac's signature, and he signed it "Mc44"... way cool! If Wille Mac's knees hadn't been a disaster, HE would have hit a lot more.

  • Aaron was born on Feb 5, the Babe on Feb 6! Hank was the most underrated player in the 50s-60s. Even today he isnt mentioned as quickly as he should at the top. Wasn't big but his wrists were powerful, and his batspeed was frightening. Looked effortless. it's why he was underrated. Took a lot of racial crap and showed big time sack. I watched #715 on NBC (off Al Downing... also #44!), cheered and cried. Had a poster of the shot on my wall for the rest of my childhood.

  • Da true home run king

  • Hank Aaron is the man, Baseball (and sports in general) could use more guys like him today.

  • he was 160 lbs??? dag

  • February 5, 1934. Happy 76th Birthday Hank! Seems like it was just yesterday that he broke Ruth's record televised on NBC's Monday Night Baseball. May you keep slamming them high, far and gone! A great man!

  • alteast he did this record wihtout steridos.

  • And that record of 755 still stands today after over 35 years.

  • Cheater or not, Bonds did break it. And I hate Bonds.

  • True gentleman

  • Pick up a ''textbook'' and maybe you'll know.

  • Everyday when I go to school I read about White history, shut the fuck up, you big baby.

  • Bonds is garbage...The babe, then Aaron, Bonds will NEVER be in the hall.

  • @lmckeel1983 what about Sadaharu Oh?

  • @awesomecdiperson Amazing...but Ruth wasnt even a full time hittr the first five years of his career...and played against arguably better talent...Josh Gibson too that guy was a hitter...but there wasnt much pitching in the Negro Leagues

  • @lmckeel1983 I couldnt agree with you more!!! Cheaters like Bonds, Mcgwire, A-rod shouldnt be rewarded for cheating!

  • @lmckeel1983 He could have been in without 'roids.

  • wtf

shouldnt there be a white history month?!

    they made the country

they wrote the GREAT rules that now blacks are using

    -freedom of speech.

    -freedom of religion.

    wtf

and whites fought for this country from day one.

    no in 1863.

    whites fought too....they were there

  • Well, if you want a 'white history month' then write your senator, start a petition...something. Stop whining on youtube.

  • ALSO!

it all matters on who has a higher home run hitting percentage...Which i belive is...BABE RUTH!

  • yes ! im also roberthaterproof but yes he did. highest in history

  • ya also

    roid king

  • YES!

    FINALLY YOUR SO RIGHT!

THERE WERE LESS GAMES IN BABES SEASON.

    your right

  • And to think of all the death threats Aaron received in his pursuit of Ruth's home run record—not only because it was Babe Ruth, but also because they didn't want a black man to break Ruth's record. Aaron himself said it best in his Hall of Fame induction speech: "I never wanted the fans to forget Babe Ruth, I just wanted them to remember Hank Aaron."

  • hey u guys i have a hank Arron baseball card (1975 record breakers), Reggie jackson (collectors edition1967-1980) and jack aker '70

any1 interesting in buying? if so contact me i live in ny

  • i <3 bonds.

    flame me =]

  • Hank Aaron should still be considered the holder of the coveted home run record. The fact is Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, all of those clowns were roid freaks. Now, Ken Griffey Jr. would have eclipsed the 800 home run mark if not for all the horrific injuries he suffered.

  • Aaron is the 3rd Greatest player every.

Behind Reggie Jackson and the Best Player ever Babe Ruth

  • I am a Reggie Jackson fan but he no way the 3rd best baseball player ever. Heard of Wille Mays, Mickey Mantle, Frank Robinson just for starters that imo way better than Reggie.

What you can say about Reggie Kings, is that he probably the best post season hitter in baseball history in terms of getting the big hit or home run though.

ie the 1977 world series performence.

Back to Aaron he still the carrer home run king in MLB and not that jerk Bonds.

  • not to mention Iron man Lou Gehrig Ted Williams ect

  • Gotta love the people congratulating him while he ran.

  • doesn't anyone find it odd that we integrated baseball but still segregate history via "black history month"?

  • Yeah, Bonds just takes steroids. Let's go Hank Aaron!

  • Hank Aaron is my all time favorite Homerun King

  • ya it just shows that he has longevity. To hit as many Home runs as he did over such a long time is amazing

  • he had 3966 more at bats than babe ruth and played 795 more games than ruth

  • and the babe played pitcher when he was on the red sox

  • True, but Ruth may have had more games and at bats if he wasn't such an overweight slob and womanizer/drunk.

  • WOw dont even diss babe ruth he changed the sport and why even bring up that hes an overwight slob womanizer drunk... Why compare his outside life with his baseball career, and when u bring up mroe games and at bats he spent like 6 years pitching with a 2.00 era. SO he is considered the greatest player of all time

  • ABSOLUTELT the babe was UNDEFEATED AS A PITCHER against WALTER JOHNSON....BAbe is the best we will ever see, if he wouldve been a full tim batter his firt 5 years........I would HAVE to think he would have had at LEAST 850

  • stop hatin

  • I'd like to see babe hit against real pitching. in the 70's 80'sand so on. Theres no doubt that the pitching he face was inferior to what aaron faced.

  • Ruth did hit against real pitching. He hit against hit against the same pitching that everyone else hit against from 1914-35. and he dominated the game like no one before or since. Aaron was fantastic and i rooted like hell for him to hit 715. But #715 in Yankee Stadium, or Cleveland, or old Shibe Park, is a double or an out. And if the Babe had gotten 12000 AB's...

  • c he did all this wit out stroids he is still the homerun king and i sux at spelling

  • Hank Aaron Is Still The Home Run King (FUCK BARRY BONDS) God Does Bless Hank Aaron

    GO BRAVES!!!!!

  • @Ballplayer300th your just jealous cause bonds is a better hitter with or without steroids plus you cant compare hank aaron to bonds because they played in different eras

  • @Ballplayer300th Aaron is HR king only because back in those days there was no steroid testing. Roids were easily and legally obtainable. All baseball records in from the 70s until the mid 90s should be met with suspicion

  • @veryslyfox You gotta admit, though, at least he was dog-gone consistent.

  • @veryslyfox...lol does he look like he took steroids to you?

  • @Ballplayer300th I wonder how Heyward will do!?

  • baseball should not put any of those steroid using bastards in the baseball hall of fame that will send a message to all the future players that fans of the game and sport writers will never again allow these cheaters to break records and be recognized as baseball heros its bullshit in my opinion roger maris and hank aaron records were never broken how can baseball reward cheaters .

  • Happy Anniversary Mr. Aaron! Still the home run champion in my mind.

  • Happy Anniversary Mr.Aaron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes Happy Anniversary Mr.Aaron I watched history on this day thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hammerin' Hank....STILL THE KING

  • i still say hank aaron holds the record. bonds is a cheat and a joke

  • yeah, a friend of mine who doesnt watch baseball asked me what the record for home runs was and without even thinking I said 755.i dont even know or care how many bonds has.

  • true

  • Well what Hank Aaron did was amazing, and that's really all that matters, so I don't really even worry about bonds.

  • the question is.. where are they?

  • Who were those two white guys in street clothes who ran up and patted him on the back as he ran the bases?

  • sweet vid

inspiration to all black ppl and all ppl

  • My grandpa was right there when it happened

  • my dad was at the game when it happened but he was in the bathroom

  • haha that sucks

  • It makes me SICK, after all this man went through, a black man in a Southern city at a time when race was as prevalent as it ever was, breaking an icon's HR record, that a CHEATER and an outright BRAT now holds his record.

    Fuck Barry Bonds.

  • hes the best................

  • amazing, he and babe ruth are the best hitters there ever was

  • ted williams was a far better hitter than babe ruth.

  • Great Point!!

  • Good Gawd.... That swing is prettier than a kitchen full of naked cheerleaders ;)

  • very similar... =)

  • If I had a time machine, this game, this moment would be one of the first stops I made going back in time. No joke.

  • people really need to relize that pound for pound he is the greatest home run hitter ever steriods or not if bonda weighed that much with out steroids he prolly couldnt hit 300 feet

  • Barry Bonds' Dad, Bobby Bonds, hit only 332 Career Home Runs. Talent runs in his Blood, but NOT that Clout! God Bless Hank Aaron.

  • All time home run champion.

  • The All-Time Home Run Champion... Hank Aaron! Barry Bonds cheated. He deserves NOTHING! Hank Aaron did it with pure skill and muscle. Same with Babe Ruth. Bonds, he did it with pure HGH and needles!

  • hes the best, after the babe

  • The white guy in the white suit standin' next to Aaron is Craig Sager. The guy who wears all the crazy lookin' suits on TNT for the NBA.

  • The outfielder jumping the fence is bill buckner (715th homer)

  • haha. buckner. i always laugh when i hear his name.

  • he's still my home run king

  • mine too and ever

  • one of the greatest moments in baseball history

  • 44 is my fav number

  • The funny thing was, when he first came up, he wore #5. He asked for a double number and Donald Davidson, the longtime Braves' traveling secretary, thought it wouldn't look good because he was so skinny. After Aaron hit 44 homers after changing to #44, Davidson said he wished he could have worn #66

  • hes the best baseball player ever to live
