  • great video. thanks for sharing

  • Congratulations, idiots, for assuming everyone in the world has the luxury of microwavable food and McDonalds, where as to people in places like this actually need food to survive, whether it's an animal or not.

I suppose you're going to persecute carnivorous animals too for eating other animals right?

Besides, she's buying them as pets.

  • Rachael U got Awesome pets xDDD

  • poor animals

    well done for helping them

  • I want to go there... I think it's not illegal.

  • awww they're babies. i would not release them in a forest. they're babies. raise them, show them how to raid anthills i guess im not sure how one would do that though. Once they're all grown, then release them into a forest so they'll know what to do. Since you're raising them together, they'll become close and when they're released they'll have each other's safety.

  • Incredible video! What a unique and rewarding experience!

  • Honestly... Even if you "saved" them from the meat market, they would be better off released 50-60 miles away from the meat market where they were bought. Pangolins are personally my favorite animal, and although I find them very cute and would want to save them, bringing them back home is not the way to do that.

  • @Russianczarina I'm not so sure...if she just released them there is a very high chance theyd just be recaptured, and eaten later. I love animals and I'm usually all for keeping them in their natural habitat, but bringing them home was probably the best option for those two specifically

  • good people saving them from the meat market..

  • @bastardfingers calling a 12 year old a cunt? you're so cool now

  • Pangolin is named after Penguling, a Malay word, it is most commonly found in south east asia. Pangolin, and they made fun of how asians speak engrish.

  • que buno que no se los comen

  • oh wow i really doubt this but is it possible to get one of these in the US? like able to but one from the US and not Nigeria, this is like the most amzing animal ever

  • @TheWingait You do not need to support the endangered animal trade. You can just watch them on youtube.

  • @nodollarsign like thats any fun -_- and my soorryy, didnt realise the animal was endangered

  • I wonder if these guys can be bred into domestication. I read a National Geographic article that talked about how some scientists took in some foxes and only let the one that acted nicest to humans breed, thus only the genes that made them nice went on to the next generation. It got to the point where they were just dogs in fox bodies. Complete with wagging tails, spots, and floppy ears! I guess question is that, with enough work, could pangolins be bred to survive captivity?

  • Do you live in Africa? If not, I didn't know you were allowed to bring those guys back to the States...

  • This makes me sick. What has this world come to? I mean, it's not like you need any special education or a nice house to understand that these creatures have lives just like we do. So why the hell would they sell these beautiful, interesting creatures in a meat market. I'm not a vegetarian. I eat meat. But I've heard pangolins don't even taste good and that they provide one strip of meat at the most. Thank you for taking the effort to at least release the one that was still alive.

  • @Trebgah My guess is that since there is no access to supermarkets, fast food restaurants, or other food sources that would otherwise have them covered, they eat whatever they can get. You cant be too picky with what you eat when food is scarce. Just look at what else was in the market.

  • @Arzamol5 I see your point but I've been to areas like that and there is still more animals than just those to eat.

  • @Arzamol5 .......too many people.

  • For those who say these people are evil, these guys were gonna be eaten... And their diet consists of termites, if they were released they'd surely have died... They were not bought in a "black market" they were bought in a village shopping district, similar to our grocery stores...

  • @ZxApolloxZ And that means its legal.... the people who had it broke chinas laws or thailands laws that these may never be taken for such reasons. And they are from jungles that have water here they dont have the water or humidity they need they would die of dehitration.

  • This is fucking sad. People should seriously leave wild animals alone.

  • why did you throw it off the cage at 1:48 ? and try to deny it....

  • @wayfaringstoner I think she was trying to pick it up and it jumped

  • I'm so jealous! I want them! :(

  • still they should have released them. there probably scared to death

  • stupid bitch

  • fuck this is evil buying animals in the black market and releasing them in the us wild where they most likely died.

  • @ctarshis01 what?... it wasn't "the black market" it was a food market, and they weren't brought to the US, just because they're white and speaking English doesn't mean they're in/from the US...

  • @PhauxTheFox Actually just couse its a food market doesnt mean its legal.... and nigeria they would die yes they are from china and thailand not Nigeria. So you failed trying to defend your self. These people dont understand that. Pangolins live in jungels. So that means they where poached from asia and brought back so yeah though good thing i help you learn a bit and others to. Also they would die of dehitration which is worse than the fast decapitation of a cook so yeah dont justify yourself.

  • @ctarshis01 Long-tailed Pangolins, Ground Pangolins, Tree Pangolins, and Giant Pangolins are all located in Africa around the area these people were.

Chinese Pangolins, Indian Pangolins, Sunda Pangolins, and Philippine Pangolins are in Asia(I'm sure you can figure out what parts).

I'd say these were either Tree or Long-tailed Pangolins.

  • @ctarshis01 Granted it is sad that one of them died, but the other was brought to a nature reserve where it probably survived, and it's one of the African ones it's probably fine

  • @ctarshis01

There are 8 living species of pangolin, 4 live in Africa, including Nigeria. The ones in the video are probably either the tree pangolin or the long tailed pangolin.

  • I'm still curios on where they live, there are so many different pangolin species, I thought it was illegal to own pangolins... I'm just a kid with a dream to save the pangolins, and have a pet one ofcourse.

  • I think we need to send you back to Nigeria, there's a few more pangolins and turtles that need saving. What happened to those turtles anyway?

  • Where can I get some pangolins? Where did they go after they bought them, they couldn't have left the country right?( if I had some I would try and domesticate them and be a breeder of sorts)

  • those bast*ards!!! how dare to sell pangolins, they're stupid or what??? that animals are protected by the CITES book!!! God damn they, stupid people.

  • It's a real life Sandshrew, what's not to like?

  • @TBustah ^U^!!!!!

  • i would like to be there....and free them all.

  • @3potatocandyproject5 Yah , if I went there , I'd try & buy every single thing that was still living .

  • SO GOOD OF THEM TO DO THAT!! We need more ppl like THAT in the world!!

  • poor animals, getting sold like candy...

    Pangolins are very cute though!

  • They were going to eat the pangolins?! I would rather see that entire village starve to death than one pangolin be eaten!

  • @Tactual lmao so true! they look so cool! i want one

  • @Tactual wait really? if so then your actually more of a bad person

  • @Tactual

    seriously wtf?

    you're an idiot

  • youre a kind person. sad to hear bout the other one. how r they doing these days? or were u able to chk it out? tnx

  • ohmygawd... it's so sick to see pangolins being bartered somehow. :( it's great that u guys managed to save 2 from being eaten though!

  • Everyone needs to settle down,.... we released the adult into the conservation center right away the baby was sick and the SF zoo told us to feed him catfood and we also showed him some termite mounds....he died after 2 months- RIP Penny :(

Oh and it makes me mad when I hear my dad on the video saying that they cant hurt me.... I cut myself on one of the scales and it got incredibly infected, so technically they can hurt you if you dont wear proper protection....

  • @rachael575

wikipedia says they'll "extend the scales and make a cutting motion" if you scare them when in a ball lol

  • woah thats so cool pangolins are mad awesome

  • cool, i want to see more

  • ha i like the beavis and butthead shirt

  • Bravo for saving them from the table. Have a care-plan in mind or are they just for titillation? Hope you live in a place where they can survive in a natural environment. Prodding them to see if they will run??? Set them free please, or treat them properly.

  • Poor Pangolins being eaten at a meat market! There should be a law against eating endangered species (thats what i heard they were) I love pangolins and it's a shame they aren't released back in the wild :(

  • haha I'd wear gloves if i where you they can snap their scales shut and cut of your fingers

  • How long did they live for after you got them? What did you feed them, and was it successful?

  • the one that runs , runs like a slomo squirrel

  • que manga de retardados

  • ugh, okay its good that she saved them but there are much better places to take them then your back garden, there are plenty of zoos and scantuarys that could provide much better homes for them.

  • Oh they'll be fine. All they need is some ants or termites to eat.

  • It's so great to see Pagnolins saved from a Meat market. I really wish they weren't sold as a delicacy. Think you could answer me a question or two? One, do you live in the US and if so were you really allowed to bring them back from Africa? Two, if you do live in the US, think you could give some care tips, like how you manage their ant/termite diet?

  • Please leave them ...you morons! Leave them in Wild!

  • They took them from a MEAT market. Pay attention to the video, before you make idiotic comments.

  • @robzombay Lolwut? why would 'saving them from being eaten' be a good thing?

  • @Bleumange Maybe because they're commonly used in Asian wellness stores as an ingredient, and the collective worldly population of the different pangolin populations has been dwindling for several decades. Good Lord put us on this Earth both to rule over it and also take care of it as well as each other, I see no reason not to take care of them.

  • @robzombay Better off eaten than being fucking traumatised by a load of screaming bitches chasing it round a garden and tapping it with their feet, that thing looks distressed as fuck

  • Malditos caçadores...

  • its because of people like this that there are spices endangered

  • Ummmm hello, the people who she got them from were selling them as food. Go to Africa and whine to the people selling them if you are soooo concerned.,....,

thats what I thought, now shut it!!

  • @carllos25

Those poor, poor spices. If only pangolin were as plentiful as thyme or cinnamon.

  • wtf. this made my vegetarian soul cry. fudgin tards

  • Give it a break, they were being sold at a MEAT market, she saved them from being eaten. "vegetarian soul", so self rightous, what a joke

  • i meant the fact that all those animals were being sold and the meat sellers were MEANIES.

  • Thank you for helping these guys!

  • I want a pangolin but I'm a malaysian,so there is no pangolin at malaysia

  • ermmm.... Malaysia has plenty of pangolins in the wild. Go check out the palm plantations, but be advised not to keep endangered animals :-) Thanks!

  • gonna buy an ant farm... then a pangolin... then some needle and thread to stitch my arm up after his claws shred it, cause I would be holdin him

  • if these things are soo rare and endangered why for the sake of god are these people allowed to capture and sell them as food or pets? it was very nice of you to release the other living one to the wild. they are such a weird creature 4 legs but walk perfectly ballanced on 2 only going on all 4s to run...neat video!

I loved it when the smaller one tried to climb dads leg :) we didn't see it but the sounds from your dads was enougth!

  • I want a pangolin,but they don't look very snuggly!

  • Why?...Why do that???. The traffic of animals is bad soo bad if you love animals, dont do that! You are "·%%&&&!!!!!!

  • I love pangolins.

  • I released the adult into the conservation center and the baby died after a month NOT A FEW DAYS.

I fed him cat food, which is what the San Fran zoo told me to do.

And they do drink water, not from the ants they eat, thats ridiculous.

  • I hope you black cunts rot in pangolin hell!!!

  • you do now that Pangolin get there liquid nerishment from the ants they eat right? not from a watering hose!!! are they at lest still alive?

  • Releasing a wild animal into an inappropriate environment is criminal.

  • it was likely where it was captured from orignally. remember, this was all in Nigeria, not in the US

  • Is it legal to bring pangolins into the US without special permits???

  • No. It is also very hard to keep them alive in captivity. That is why you don't see them in zoos. One of these died a few days later, the other was released into the nearby nature reserve.

  • Pangolins are the most adorable animals ever.
