Not sure what you mean about weather? Dobes are able to be walked outside, but just like we do they need to make sure they maintain adequate body heat. They are not best suited to be kept outside full time as they have a single coat, and do not grow a winter coat.
@Mashimarothe18 As far as we know Baron is a full dobermann, there are some lovely updated pictures of him on the website forum. His profile will be updated shortly.
Harvey is now rehomed, and he too is a full dobermann. Thanks for visiting!
my dobbie is 11yr old and not well, but she hanging on in there, but would like to put my name down for a rescue dog,(for when she gone)not before, how do i go about it?, don't need to be a pup, as experienced dobbie owner dont care if dog or bitch, e-mail me, in north east uk
@13Boozebrothers I am sorry to read that your dobie girl is not well.
Please fill in an enquiry form which can be found on the contact us page of the website. Address for website is in the information for the video. Thanks for visiting!
If I had anything to do with it, sorry england2008, you would not be getting a Doberman, your too immature, and by your profile you seem to be wanting a status symbol.
Its the I'll be getting a Doberman or Rottweiler soon commemt and other postings that worry me. One thing for sure, I know the Doberman rehoming association would never let you have one of their already badly treated dogs. Sorry if this is not want what you want to hear but its the truth. rescue centres will see right through you.
Just thought I would like to say, Dobermans need a lot of time and commitment. As puppies they can be hyperactive to the point of despair. They need training, 2 hours exercise a day (or they go nuts), I speak from experience I have two of them one of which came from the Doberman re-homing association. So many end up in rescue centres as people can’t cope or keep up with their needs. But they are loyal and loveing. Would I recommend owning or re-home a dob with a young family simple answer No!
@fdsc43 we have an 18month dobie and i agree with u comments our dobie and me have never been apart since i got her at 8 weeks some people could not handle the breed thank god we have dobie rescue
Hi. ive been planing to buy doberman for more that year but then i found the right puppy i was fooled i lost my money and dream to get a puppy, so now im planing to rehome one but im so afraid because dobermans are such intelligent animal and if he was badly treated before he might do something stupid to our family or am i wrong?
@QDizzyQ Not all dobermann's that come into rescue have been "badly treated". The rescue takes time to make the right match for both the dobe and the prospective family. Dobes that have been "badly treated" often just need given time, patience and love to learn to trust again. Thanks for visiting!
yes i see that he doesnt like cat's ,and this is where my problem is,how bad is he with them, after time would he get used to one ,and also lifting objects near him ..is sad to hear how people treat them ,but i am willing to see what id beable to do for him before i go any further ok ,i dont wana let him dont if i re-home him
im looking for a puppie doberman ,can any one help me out ?? has to be from a young-ish age ,so he/she will be used to freinds ,family, and my kitten ,and maybe a baby if that all goes to plan ..i live in devon ,can travel to pick up but not 100's of miles far from home becuase of the journey home agen ,would be happy if some one can help
If you enquire to any of the dobe rescues I am sure they will consider you for any dobe puppies that might come in. However this does not happen very often. Many rescue dobes have lived with cats and children etc so don't discount an older dog.
yes i have kids and one cat ,soo if an older one is used to those id be more then happy to rehome one ,but not all dobbies are because of their recent live being abused etc ..i live in devon and havnt come across a doberman recuse centre in this area and i see the ones about only rehome locally
Baron was mistreated early on in his life, and this has made him very wary of people, sudden movements and noises. He has come a long way since he has been in the rescue but Baron will need to develop trust with anyone who wants to consider rehoming him. He is not a big dog, he is a standard size dobe. If you visit the website you can learn more about him. ;-)
I am sorry for just jumping in. I am a total doberman lover and my opinion is that someone should adopt some of those arogant owners that abandoned those dogs and treat them like they treated their dogs. don't crush a puppy's life if you're not willing to love it for the rest of its life
All the dogs bar one on this video have found a home. Baron remains in kennels...waiting for that special person who has the time and patience to gain his trust and help him forget his past. This lad has come such a long way...but his journey towards a forever home has yet to start. PLEASE consider taking on a rescue dobe...and look again at the ones still waiting...

Baron is beautiful. Why hasn't he found a home yet? Is it because he's so big? Does he intimidate people? What's his vice?

We adopted our "Ox", a rescue about 1.5 years ago. He is a constant source of love & amusement.

I truly hope ALL of them find the best homes ever, not only those below the age of 1...
Animal organization's staff should encourage people to adopt older dogs, too. As well as blind or hearing impaired.
People sometimes only think they wouldn't manage to take care of such dog and they just need INFO&HELP.
I adopted an old, seriously ill and almost blind dog - it's been 4 yrs and he's still alive, we cherish every day :)
