This was pretty terrible, actually. There is nothing wrong with his voice per se, he just isn't singing this song in the right context. It is as if he doesn't realize the song is about a father's new born baby. He sings more along the line of an angry break up revenge song. After watching all his vids from this show, the guy just doesn't demonstrate any real range. He is so very Kevin Costner. Best of luck to him though, I have no doubts that some folks will like him as a front man.

Vocals are driven by emotion and this guy fails to put any emotion into the song, much like everyone else who participates in these idol-like shows. Scott Stapp is a bad singer, but at least he can put some emotion into his voice.

If you go back and check the Loverhammers, Marty was doing the Mad Conductor long before he did the INXS show. Some of the Lovehammer videos are toooo crazy. That is the real Marty being himself!

Mig? Met him in Vegas, wonderful man, has more talent in his little finger than INXS together :-) Doing theatre one day and a rock concert the next.

JD deserved to win, it was his turn to make a place in the world for himself.

This show was so intense when it was first on air. Why they had to ruin a second season by putting Tommy Lee in it is a mystery. But Marty Casey kicks ass. Just not in this particular song. Him and the one chick that did Bohemian Rhapsody. That stuff kicked ass.
