  • Love and Rockets.

  • This is what should be played at all political events!

  • This is the everlasting 'THEME SONG' for this world that we live in / As Long As GREED, WASTE, ENVY, HATRED, STUPIDITY, and LACK of 'LOVE' for GOD, for SELF, for OUR FELLOW MAN, for THE PLANET, and FUTURE GENERATIONS Remain ' Human Character Flaws ' / Nothing Will Change and This World Will Continue To Be A " BALL OF CONFUSION "

  • Muy bieeen¡

  • But Dennis Edwards, Ali-Woodson, Damon Harris, Richard Street, Glen Leonard, Louis Price, Ray Davis (Who replaced Melvin Franklin for a short time after Melvin's death), G.C. Carmen, Theo Peoples, and maybe a few names that I can't think of now. LOL!! But these brothers held their own.

  • the truth is this, Yes David was the voice,BUT Dennis was and still isn't no slouch!! And Ron was playing percussion and writing for the Temptations when they got signed to Atlantic records. Now Ron was no Eddie, but then he's not supposed to be. Ron, just like Damon Harris and Glen Leonard held their own. So it's all good. Each Temptation played their part. So we will always see Otis, Melvin, David (who replaced Al), Paul, and Eddie as the Best Temptations.

  • If the world was run by computers, this would fry their circuits

  • This should be done at this tempo more often. Gives it a better groove, I think.

  • this is some good shit

  • AND THE BAND PLAYED ON

  • Oh Yea

  • Kindred, the family soul, Adelle, maybe 15 R&B artists can live up to the skill, stage presence, great performances and raw talent that are the Temptations. I hope that Neo-soul artist will continue to aspire to this level of performance. The Temptations demonstrated what R&B could be. I dream and hope that new artists can equal or even top what the Temptations did...but that is an awful tall order!

  • @9rexun1 Adelle? you are a fuckin' idiot! She could not lick the sweat off the soulful balls of these guys. You should not even be allowed to listen to soul music, ingrate!!

  • This song is still ahead of the times!!! A classic for real!

  • Who the fuck is Ron Tyson a poor replacement for Eddie and Dennis replaced the great Ruf who many people in the business called him the VOICE and she he was the best followed by Levi of the Tops

  • @georgerestivo i agree but glenn leonard was gone and ron tyson was i guess the only guy to replace both of them

  • Temps only 3 originals I will give you Dennis and believe me he was no Ruffin no charisma couldn't dance lacked showmanship could sing some but looks like he swallowed a fucking Buick

  • @georgerestivo Why are you hating on Dennis? Did he sleep with u and forget to call the next day or something? ...Just sayin....Sounds personal. Dennis was and still is Brilliant!

  • i love part 1:18 though 1:23 but hell the whole song i bad ass

  • Them was some bad boys~

  • the first temps are waaay beter

  • Anyone else here because of TIMEs Mag?

  • Ron Tyson says One,Two,Three Four??

  • Ron Tyson says the part one,

  • Alet me know who sings lead on this song plz

  • Who's singing lead On this song, is it Richard Street? I know Dennis Edwards is doing some of the lead on this song!...

  • @alishadtaylor Ron Tyson sings the first part, the tenor. Then Dennis, then Richard.

  • The music is still good and the world is still a Ball of Confusion.

  • Im 26 wish i was a yong blood of the 60s

  • this world's a ball of confusion!

  • I love it too. Still applies today. Are we not making any progress? Love the Temps.

  • just to understand the meaning of the lyrics, what does "rap on" means?

sorry, i'm not native english speaker

  • @axtronomix

It just means to speak up.

  • @pshark

    thanks a lot, pshark

  • @axtronomix It's slang..it means "Keep talking" in this context it means that they know the Politician is not being truthful, and they're saying they know he won't be able to free them...

  • @axtronomix "rap on" means to speak the (righteous truth about the matter at hand), put it in a way that is down-to-earth, real and understood. Rapping is not simply talking but delivering the true word. I hope that this helps, better late than never.

  • Excellent video - Check out Graham Bonnet's cover of this track to hear a classic rock version.

  • WOW!!! They sounded awesome in this video!! Thanks for posting/sharing!! :)

  • BEST song ever IMO.

  • This is an amazing performance!!

  • The Temptations at their best live!

  • cuz this is the 80s/ 90s version they had to put a spin on it cuz this probably a reunion tour or it's 2nd Temps

  • @johnykonta57

my fav is love and rockets' version.

  • The words still apply today. Denis Edwards was brilliant.

  • my school is singing this woooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The academy of motion picture arts & sciences called. They want Oscar's suits back.

  • Damon Harris is way better than the dick who replaced him

  • Damon harris is better then Glenn Leonard?

  • keep it going guys.

  • love it in sister act, love their moves n shiny suits, i wish i could go bk in time when things really mattered!

  • Ball of Confusion came out in the 60s, when the Temptations were broken up into tow big groups, 2 "originals" in each group. GREAT GOOGA MOOGA... listen....

  • Actually, Ball of Confusion came out in 1970 when the group consisted of four of the original members and Dennis Edwards who replaced David Ruffin. Ruffin wasn't an original member either though.

  • This song is so powerful. This and Papa was a rolling stone. I wrote a paper in college about this song. I got an A. It was easy to write because really the Temptations did all the work for me. Just fantastic.

  • @doowoppingchainsawer Congratulations. I did a paper on the producers on Motown for my African American Music class I'm no sure what I got on the paper though

  • @MUSICENCYLOPEDIA did yu get your grade yet?

  • @hylianqueen I did the paper back in 2000, and I did get the paper back, but I never learned what grade I got on the paper. I did get a C+ in the class

  • Nobody's interested in learning, but the teacher.

  • omg this is the best song ever how did you find the live performance

  • Tamla-Motown soul is best!

  • i love this but when sister act did it it was hysterically funny.

  • Five stars !!!!! Clasic

  • i hate to say it but i gotta agree, the movie version sounds better

  • SO True

  • No offense, they were great, but I enjoy the movie version better..

  • well obviously this isnt a performace from when they first released the song, this is probably from the 80's considerring the jeri curls, but they had gotten a bit older here so the moves werent as crisp, but they did their thing on this

  • what.....

are u serious... these guys.. michael jackson... made what music is like today... so before u say this to another oldies song like this... i hope u think of this message dumbass

  • yes you are exactly right, and this group inspired michael to be what he was and is today and what he became along with soem of the forefathers of soul and motown

  • :)~

  • you from Germany, what the hell do you know about Soul music

  • I really do wish this type of funk and r&b was more popular today.

  • Anthem! The Ultimate Temps.

  • My favorite song from them!!!

  • We watched this video in my Molecular Genetics class today. It was pretty suiting considering what we're about to study.

  • BAD ASS

  • what year was this? I'm thinking mid-80s because of Ron Tyson

  • I think this is around 87, right before Ali got back in and Dennis left one more time, lol

  • It's amazing how the guys could still move around at their ages! And Dennis Edwards could still sing anyone under the table!

  • Agreed.

  • Hell yes. Too bad no one paid attention the first time.

  • this song and Eve of Destruction are so relevant today .....they were way ahead of their time

  • Makiba08 that is so damn true

  • This song still applies today.

  • One Of My Favorite Songs.

  • do you have one when eddie, david, and dennis sing it

  • do you have one when eddie, david, and dennis sing it

  • mj was so inspired b y this song when he wrote they dont really care about us! LOVE IT

  • maybe times are changing, but not the world, the problems are the same today all ower the world as it were the.

  • All of the things and events that are happening in our world today, the older singers such as the Temptations sang about them back then, and now we can see that they are true.

  • what the balls?!

  • And the band plays on ... ... ...

  • I must admit...I never heard of this song till I heard the Anthrax version (which I like).

The original is better though :)

  • Anthrax did a version of this? o_O

I hadn't heard it til Sister Act 2, good song. It was on the radio the other day, good stuff.

  • I like original, drums and base are amazing!

But i much prefer duran duran version, i'ts

  • "And The Band Played On"! That was the best part of the song is Melvins booming basso voice! I miss and love him! R.I.P. Blue! (:

  • I'm pretty sure this was the first single (45) I ever bought. The second was The Archie's Sugar Sugar.

My tastes have always been quite eclectic. LOL

This song would still be a hit if it came out today. Sugar Sugar...meh, not a chance. ;-)

  • no he is not ther....thats ron tyson

  • does anybody know if eddie kendriks is in there

  • the sister act 2 version is so awesome

so is this, but i prefer the other one

  • This rhythm makes me raise up!!!!!

  • So sad what happened to blue. He looks like he's sooo devoid of pain right here. Like no one would even think he had any physical problems. I miss that guy. RIP

  • i just set this as my ringback tone and i dont care how many ppl are makin fun of me for it, this song is incredible!!!

  • God bless Norman Whitfield.

  • Thanks for comment.

    Loved his music. Miss him....

    R.I.P

  • fuckin awesome effect in opening of Tropic Thunder.. What a fuckin awesome song.

  • word with the helicopters was sooo sick

  • heard this in tropic thunder, great song. i love 0:50 - 1:00

  • these lyrics still ring true today..these fellas had vision and most of all VOICES that could sing!!

  • Dennis voice just makes me melt! I've loved him from when he first joined the Temps. Even though he's picked up weight, he still got the moves! Blu (Melvin) must've passed shortly after this performance. I miss him. His charm on stage was always a highlight in their performances. They all did great though!Great performance.

  • Blue died 8 years after this performance.

  • History repeats itself. All the lyrics apply today as it did then.

  • this version of the TEMPS. were Tight!!!!!

  • Dennis Edwards was the man! Hell, they all were!

  • This song is perfectly written, an understanding of out it was in the 60's during the riots. Damn, I'm glad we didn't have to face that. Now, if Bush stays in office any longer(I am VERY glad he isn't going to) there would be riots worse than that. I don't think the nation is ready for an uprising like that neither.

  • i love this song, brilliant when it was used in sister act 2

  • denis is a legend

  • '88...kewl...thought I saw melvin too.

  • I LOVE this song. Temps RULE! What year is this clip?

  • 1988

  • there was a 20 minute version of this song, which was incredible, but i cant remember the name of the band, any help?

  • Dennis and Otis are showing that a little extra weight didn't mean they couldn't still STEP!!!!! I even like Richard on this one. Thanks for the post.

  • Classic music and some of the best music out there. Take this over rap any day. Wish there were more bands out there making this kind of music.

  • i LOVE UUUUUUUUUUUU

  • These dudes are <3'n *tight*!

  • This song is timeless. The lyrics are as powerful and meaningful today as they were when it was released.

  • love and rockets version is the best!

  • stfu nerd!
