  • phaedra, you are a truly gifted dancer. i had always wanted to try belly dancing, as i grew up watching a troupe perform for a renaissance fair. (they are affectionately known as 'the bare naked bellies")

thanks for inspiring me to dance again. :)

  • You go girl...Loved it!

  • You go girl...Loved it!!!

  • muy buena fusion!!!

  • (aliiooops can you put more videos she dances very beutifull thanks

  • Stunning

  • You move well. But need more variety.

  • This was amazing. and just because it might not be your traditional belly dancing music doesn't make it any less beautiful, so what who cares if she wants to fuse it or whatever and make her own style then thats her right, and she's good at it. I wish I could do that.

  • she knows what a man needs wow

  • your isolations are fabulous!!

  • Wow now thats what i call bellydancing !

  • that´s not belly dancing: it´s fusion...

  • genial!

  • perfecto

  • u are beautiful!

  • ♥ buenisimo

  • This sooooo exactly 10000% my dancestyle too i love it!.

Gurll ive got respect 4 ya;)

  • love it, lady (especially the end). Can't wait to see what you'll do at our next performance!

  • Your fusion is very pretty, you obviously have a lot of skill. But do you have anything traditional done? It would be nice to see it.

  • what song is this

btw GREAT JOB!!! I loved it ALOT!!!!!

  • fORT mINOR REMEBER THE NAME

  • dança muiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiito bem =D PARABÊNS

  • God, you have no idea how jealous I am of this girl's SKILLS. You move without booonnes. Don't ever stop. Hope I can be as good as you some day.

  • what is this song?

  • a remix of an instrumental version of "remember the name" by fort minor with guitarwork added by her brother

  • I know my stylization and music choice is not accepted by some bellydancers. but i am not dancing for anyone but myself. hopefully one day you all will be a little more openminded to the world of dance. this is a FUSION piece. thanks for your input though.

  • You dance well, sorry for my comentary, you enjoy that, and this is the important.. thanks for share!

  • I'm sorry but dont u know that lately, a major number of bellydancers are getting modern and/or western songs for dancing? Atleast the serious ones, the ones who REALLY study bellydance (the dance, not the arab culture! u know its 2 different things right?) dont have a limited line of songs, they can do well with any song they choose to dance. THATS the real art of bellydancing.

  • Sorry Kakyobr, But i don't like the music, I "wrote" she dance very well.. but the music Sucks...... sorry you have your ideas, I respect that, but I dont believe in your ideas, only in my own. Thinking.. about that, the music, the clothes, hairstyle.. for me If I will see this video with other clothe or song, I would have written: AMAZING.. Im sure the belly dance is a culture! My FRIEND read MORE! ABOUT THAT... THE BEGININGS OF THAT DANCE..

  • Actually i read alot, but i also read about the evolution of the bellydance. Nothing remain as it was in the beginings, after centurys everything change. You or anybody else can show us how the dance was in the beginings because for it you would have to be there in the beginings. People evolve, art evolve, culture evolve. Stay stunned in an ancient time is just a foolish way to be atached to ignorance!

  • Hey, how about the two of you grow the hell up. It's a fucking dance for pie's sake!! Phaedra danced how she wanted, to the music she wanted, with the clothes she wanted. Whoopdi-friggin-do. If you don't like it then don't watch.

  • thank you

  • Evoloution is wonderful but to learn to evolve you still must understand the root. Without that a new technique is baseless and meaningless. Even "popping" dance has root its derived from. No one can show you how it was from the beginning either unless you go back through time. Too much fusion in culture from India to Moorish Spain before ottoman empire even.

  • Ok. Kakyobr, thanks for your comentary, Today Im learned more about your opinion, and I apreciate that, Í like and I love the belly dance, and thanks for all, can we be friends?

  • of course we can!! I love to have friends who enjoy chatting about dance

  • So, I don´t know how to add on my msn... ayerim83@hot..

  • I know a lot SERIOUS dancers, and not one of them would dance to something that wasn't considered belly dance music. What Phaedra is doing is a different style yes, but she's probably using music to suit the style. Been to performances where not one bit of proper music was used. Yes a good dancer can dance to anything, but that doesn't mean she should. I would never categorize myseld as an Egytption/Turkish dancer but come out using country music.

  • @Wyndre She is dancing Fusion Bellydance and us "SERIOUS" fusion Bellydancers use what moves the Goddess within, if we were stating we were Turkish/Egyptian we would dance to the "proper" stereotypical music. This does not claim to be anything but Fusion Bellydance. Please do not be dance biased and not open to other interpretations of Belly Dance. This was a fantastic piece of Fusion Bellydance and the music was appropriate for this Fusion piece.

  • @poeticalibi Apparently you didn't get what I was saying. I wasn't insulting her. If you've read other comments I"ve made you would know that I think she is beautiful and talented. I was actually responding to someelse who said what she is doing is not belly dancing but fusion. I'm sorry, I thought fusion was an Americanized form of belly dancing.

  • @Wyndre Thank you for your clarification on your post, sometimes it is hard to understand how people are actually feeling at the time they type a message. I however did not state that you were insulting the dancer. I hope that there isn't any harsh feelings between us and I wish you all the best.

  • @poeticalibi I am not always the most clear in how I present things, and reading is so much harder than in person. Nothing bad at all :)

I have a feeling that we both feel the same way about dancing and people who don't understand what belly dancing is about.

  • @poeticalibi You can dance to whatever you want to however you want to. What I said I didn't like is someone saying they are belly dancing to stuff like country, pop and hop hop. Thats my personal opinion. And since you do not know me at all don't accuse me of being closed minded. I happen to be one of the most open minded people out there. I would NEVER do that to dancers as I've seen what it can do to a community. We stick together no metter the style.

I happen to respect every form I

  • she looks like a Britney Spears :D

    But her performance is beautiful.

  • Whoo! Very nice!

  • Wow. She is really fantastic!

  • Absolutely awesome! I would love to be able to dance like that! Thanks for sharing!

  • wow WOW it's really amazing wow

  • Wow. Taht is wicked!!!!!

  • wooooooow good job girl keep it up

  • so perfect! nice mix between music and moves..very nice!

  • this is more like breakdance, not bellydance

  • glad you see that.. fusion is combining of styles.

  • it's not more like breakdance. I can see that because i know what most of her moves are. I belly dance too and I do mostly tribal moves and thats what I see her doing mostly.

  • Wicked choreo and I am in love with her song!

    You go, girl! (;D) AIWA!!!!!

  • wow, amazing!

    5/5*

  • amazing beautiful!

  • Cooooool!

  • It confuses me. VERY tribal looking in stylization, but the music defies all categorization. Interesting pick for a dance title also.

  • you're amazing!

  • W-A-O

  • best routine without real raq sharqi music

  • How long have you been belly dancing? Your awesome!!!!

  • what is the name of the song?? i love it!! you are a very talented bellydancer!!

  • phaedra...u look sooo pretty in this. well done. :P

  • very beautiful! I like the modern costume :)

only thing is the top looks a bit too much like a lacy bra from the front... but other than that it's perfect!

  • well its a bra... covered in lace.... so it probably does look like it...

  • Better than Shakira baby!! Nice work.

  • What songs is that she's dancing to? Her outfit is awesome. I've just started to get into the bellydancing thing and trying to get some ideas. Thanks.
