You guys are so amazing ur better then pearl city I think..... I would love to see your band in person performing ...this is fantastic i'm a HUGE fan of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA...wll all operas...im 13 and i play the clarinet.... i can play think of me...phantom of the opera...music of the night....but i cnt play masqurade that has alot of sharps i didnt know was possible...this is concert music im talkin bout not marching though i got a book with all phantom of ther opera music at marshall music
I was at the Hartselle Comp. this past year, this band was my favorite band there along with Hewitt Trussville (sorry if made and spelling errors), after seeing this show I have loved Phantom of the Opera since. They done a great job, I was so amazed. Plus this was my first comp. ever. Keep up the good work and good luck next season.
mr smith is a great band director. He is always pulling tricks out of his hat and throwing them on the field. I marched under his direction for 2 years, when he left as the director at lawrence county high school in moulton AL.that is when i quit the band
Yes. Mr. Smith and Mr. Bryant are both SO GOOD at what they do! They both are so knowledgeable and we enjoy having them as directors. Not to mention, they have pretty good connections, and that always helps! Our show this year was EPIC and I loved every minute of it.
... I don't really see a point in arguing. This is not meant to be a professional recording. There is no need in criticizing something that was not meant to be professional anyway. For an amateur recording, it serves its purpose well. No one is doubting your professional status, but condescension tends to negate professionalism.
Well, mr or ms know it all, video pro. If I had wanted your expert advice I would have asked for it. I'm just an amateur that did that last minute with a new camera. I realize its not perfect, but I think enough people loved it anyway. No one was expecting a video pro and I bet you aren't as good as you think you are. Thank you, thank you very much.
I'm good enough that I make my whole living doing this and I work for a major TV Station as well as tape live football games to send promo to colleges for possible recruits. Oh, and by the way I film at almost every Alabama game from the sideline. I was just trying to give you some tips. I am a Cullman Band Alumni back in the glory days of the program. It was friendly advice but apparantly you can take no constructive critisizm.
"Glory Days" of Cullman Band? bahahah back then you maybe did 20 sets of drill and a nice ballad at the end of your show... I'd say THESE are the "Glory Days" of Cullman Band. Besides you were probably like last chair epic fail.
Oh and by way......I guess you are just a stuck up want to be. I see you must work or own RumorsDeli. I used to send people from out of town to you but not any more. Oh and by the way, I have traveled the whole country working with bands. I bet you have never left Cullman
Great performance but whoever was operating the camera needs to get a grip. I am a video professional and this is pathetic. .....Let me give the camera operator a hint. Always move slowely and smoothly. You have to move much slower than you think and Zoom in or out as you move slowly. Also don't Zoom so fast. I would love to see another video of this show posted with good camera work.
My high school's band competed at Vanderbilt with y'all on Saturday. We only got a chance to watch a few shows during the afternoon, but we did get so see yours. It was so good! Definitely my favorite out of the ones I got to see.
man this was amazing. we played yall tonight 10/8/09 and yall beat us bad but the band was amazing. me and one of my friends LOVE phantom of the opera and that's all we talked about the rest of the night. thanks for putting this up because we weren't able to see it from the front. [i'm in the band] i hope yall did good at comp this year. we don't face yall any. our last comp is in ranburne this sat.
thanks! lol you should have heard our stands tunes at the beginning of the year. our band director said he thought we were doing pick-a-note when we were actually doing [i think iron man?] anyway it was hilarious we sounded terrible.
hmm? Not sure exactly what you're referring to :P but however this year for Hoover Invitational no one signed up in our class because they knew we were gonna be there ;) lol and as soon as well let out that we weren't going the class filled up!
umm... I don't see how that's cocky. It's true, nobody signed up in our class at Hoover until we signed up somewhere else. It's just how the cards played out, so to speak. So might I ask where you are from? You're so ready to hand down judgment about Cullman people that I feel compelled to ask.
Regardless of the truth, the incessant need to brag about it on YouTube is as cocky as you can get. Plus, the attitudes that I've seen from individual members don't help. And for what it's worth, I went to Walker.
I know that we brag about what we do. Frankly, we're proud of what we do, and as long as we're not putting anybody else down, then I see no wrong. We work long and hard to prepare our shows each year, and by God we have the right to be proud of them.
We're just a big rivalry. I've never put you down. Last time I went to Walker for a game, we had trash thrown at us. What I said about Hoover was true. Walker has a good band, and I've never said otherwise. I don't give a crap about your football team or ours rivalry wise. Football rivalry can cause a lot of chaos; nevertheless, I wish to not partake. If you want to generalize us then go right ahead, but at least get to know US first, not just throw something out there. Thanks
I don't generalize. I'm talking about the jeers that were thrown at me by Cullman's trumpet section in 2007 when I came over with the other band captains to greet your band captains, which is a long-standing tradition at Walker. And I apologize about the trash that was thrown at you by our drunk-ass student section. And I never accused anyone of putting Walker down... All I did was say that every single person from Cullman that I've ever talked to was cocky as hell, which is true for me.
Well... I can more than likely explain the "jeer"... whenever the game clock reads 4:20, the brass section has a traditional yell/jeer. Perhaps yall walked over during such an event, or maybe the drumline was playing "Jig", which also warrants loud noises. I don't think it was meant as insult. Delegation is a tradition at Cullman, too, and if people were really jeering at you, Mr. Smith and Mr. Bryant would have known the difference and it would have been dealt with.
Well... I had considered that as well. We had a few, and I mean less than 5, people who were a problem throughout that year. They were dropped from the program the following March during auditions. The auditions tend to cut out the "dead weight." I think I know who did this and I assure you that they are gone. Please don't allow this to eclipse your view of the entire Cullman Band. As a whole, we enjoy camaraderie with other bands and we have class. I promise that this is no longer a problem.
No problem. We've had to patch problems from several similar incidents related to those troublemakers from 2007. I look forward to many more years of peace and harmony with Walker and all the other bands we are around.
u guys started off with almost a similar start as the santa clara marching band in 1989 just saying great show tho
