  • Amazing!

  • I bought the new album today, and I have to say: It is amazing!

But still nothing can top this song!

  • @Swampdragon102

I feel ya bro. Helvetios is a great album, better than Everythings remains... but Slania still stays on top.

  • its the best song by them in my opinion

  • This genra of music is exhilarating, Eluveite is perfection of it.

  • At first, I thought my english was good.

    Then I red those lyrics...

  • @GundisFTW Pareil.

  • это, господа, пиздец!

  • The lyrics is essentially an elaborate call/prayer for Mother Nature... but then, who says a motherly figure can't be awesome and cool?

  • Absolute folk metal! Hell yeah!

  • epic shit

  • vikings are finnish, norwegian etc countries not Switzerland.... Switzerland was Gaul at those times...hence the language of their songs :D

  • @Mugati1 Finnish weren't vikings, sry

  • @landofthousandlakes You may be right, Although I was of the idea that Northern (or Norse) men were vikings those times. I'mpretty sure Norway was. Thx for correcting me ;)

  • @Mugati1 Yupp norway, denmark and sweden. Finland has different people living there ( slavic)

  • @Guard655 I dont know, but I believe Slavics arent in finland :b Finland speaks a language thats not indoeuropean (slavic is) and is actually related to hungarian. So I'm pretty sure Finns arent slavic :) They are smth completley different

  • @justaguy08 Oh yes you are completely right, my mistake I somehow believed there language were related to the slavics, they are apperently finno-ugric

  • @justaguy08 Though, many names of olden Finn gods are from Slavic Gods, so we have at least lots of similarity with the Slavic.

  • @Mugati1 You're right; Norse men from Norway were vikings, as well as Swedes, Danes and men from Iceland! :)

  • I love musicians that can put this much heart and soul into their music. This is all I have to say here.

    Music...the language of all.

  • Best live show I've ever seen...

    Spectacular!!!!

I just said "Yes! I'm crazy about eluvetie!!"

Then i kinda just... Walked away?

  • @saraphite Ah, I see. Blue Plz? Shame I missed it. Thought it ended. What a coincidence. Thank you :)

  • damn cool....can anybody suggest bands like eluveitie

  • @thefetishkingfarts

Yeah if you like this folk/pagan wave...

They are Melodic Death but I guess you will like them: Amon Amarth and Ensiferum,

And here are some bands singing in german but also do good music:

    Equilibrium, Varg usw,

  • @CalIingTheRain Exactly the same ones I'd Recommend, especially Ensiferum and Equilibrium. In Extremo and Saltatio Mortis are cool too though.

  • @thefetishkingfarts

you could also like finntroll, they are also REALLY good.

Or just search for pagan metal

  • @CalIingTheRain amon amarth officiallyviking metal but you're right there are some song i would call melodic death but Ensiferum is abolutely pagan metal...and you're right varg and equilibrium are great...they have a very special style but i like it^^

  • @CalIingTheRain Equilibrium is amazing. Check out Suidakra

  • @CalIingTheRain

Isn't Melodic Death with Pagan/Folk thematics called Pagan Metal?

  • @Jannitheking1995 Folk metal, Pagan Metal, Viking Metal, it's all the same. But yes, I agree with you

  • @TheBadgerslayer It's not.

  • @CalIingTheRain vikings still rule the earth !

  • @TheAmbiorixXx what does eluveitie have to do with vikings?

  • @Misswanda1 *facepalm* ... eluevetie ,helvetic , phonetic reference ... scandinavian band ... etc.

  • @TheAmbiorixXx scandinavian? eluveitie is from switzerland... they have really NOTHING to do with vikings!

  • @Misswanda1 then it must be an utter mystery for you why Switzerland is one of the greatest exporters of viking pagan folk metal

  • @TheAmbiorixXx i don't know any swiss viking metal band...

  • @TheAmbiorixXx scandinavian my ass

  • @CalIingTheRain Wow thx for this new band Varg :) Btw Ensiferum is folk/viking metal too.

  • @thefetishkingfarts Suidakra

  • @thefetishkingfarts korpiklaani, alestorm, and finntrolle are some bigger cektic metal out right now amon amarth is great but not so much in the folk tune amon is viking war metal

  • @thefetishkingfarts korpiklaani, alestorm, and finntrolle are some bigger celtic metal out right now amon amarth is great but not so much in the folk tune amon is viking war metal

  • @thefetishkingfarts A band that's less known is Dalriada, Hungarian folk metal. There's also Obscurity which is more like Amon Amarth's melodic death style

  • @thefetishkingfarts ensiferum, norther, finntroll, suidakra, turistas

  • @thefetishkingfarts ensiferum, norther, finntroll, suidakra, turisas

  • @thefetishkingfarts i highly recomend northland, korpiklaani and waylander

  • @thefetishkingfarts Korpiklaani Amorphis Turisas Ensiferum Amon Amarth Varg Equilibrium Finntroll Eluveitie Finsterforst Moonsorrow Enslaved
  • @thefetishkingfarts Korpiklaani Amorphis Turisas Ensiferum Amon Amarth Varg Equilibrium Finntroll Eluveitie Finsterforst Moonsorrow Enslaved Wurst Case Reltih Floda
  • @thefetishkingfarts Eluveitie has a unique style ;)

  • @thefetishkingfarts ensiferum

  • @thefetishkingfarts

    listen to Cruachan

  • @thefetishkingfarts u can try ensiferum

  • @thefetishkingfarts Slightly off the beaten track but I would advertise the fucking amazing band Amorphis to anyone interested in this kind of metal, many of their recent albums have more of a folky sound

  • @thefetishkingfarts listen to Blackguard :)

  • @ianisamonkey1 Yeah they are Kickass and they come from around where I live hahaha

  • @EspritDeBottineQc yeah haha i was a huge fan when they were known as Profugus Mortis :)

  • @thefetishkingfarts I would Suggest you Kivimetsan druidi ( Shadowheart Album ) And Manegarm ( Vargstenen album, they use fiddle for folk instrument) and finally, TrollWar - Shores of Sorrow ( they only have two song hahahaha)

  • @thefetishkingfarts korpiklaani

  • 5 guys thought they were going for a Britney Spears concert.

  • @EnjoyCocaColaLight STOP TRYING

  • 5 guy don't know where the button "love" is. xDD

  • 5 guy don't know where the button "love" is. bxDD

  • Dude, this song is fucking great to windmill to! \,,/

  • This song would be that much better if it wasn't screamo. Nothing against it, but I like the celtic-sounding music with Rock backup without screamo ruining the moment. :3

  • @kugochris Screamo? Dude, Chrigel is growling, not screaming. There is a difference, y'know.

  • @DanniiYoung656

HE MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT growling....! *BITCHSLAPS*

The vocals are nu-metallic, so to speak. it's neither a real shriek nor growl... Although he does indeed go a little deep... at times.

Check out "Thorr's Hammer - Norge" or Anything with Six Feet Under, and you'll hear growl (BONUSFACT: Thorr's Hammer has its vocals sung by a 17-year-old female chick from Norway. HAIL the country of HELL!)

  • i love all songs from eluveitie <3

  • I call rain with this song :D

  • I call rain with this song :D

  • PAGANS RULE

  • these guys are fucking awesome

  • these guys played a show for us on our way back from iraq!!! it was fuckin insane

  • AWESOMEEEEE

  • Guys, let's just give them 3 genre's instead of this "bauhbuah only haev 1 genre blah"-shit... it's Folk metal, Celtic metal and Melodic Death metal.

There you have it. Best of 3 worlds!

  • @CallingTheRain They classify themselves as celtic melodic death metal, cuz they use death growls in the majority of their songs :)

  • MOST FUCKING EPIC INTRO EVER!!!

  • *listens to intro*

HOLY SHIT THIS IS AWESOME FUCK WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD THIS BEFORE OMFG

    *dude starts 'singing'*

    ffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu-

  • lyrics...T.T

  • Eluveitie <3 They're freakin awesome !

  • this song is epic

  • Perfetc :D!

  • Comment removed

  • its new wave of folk metal

thats what the band says =)

(and yeas, folk metal is influenced by melodic death metal ;) )

  • Folk / Melodic Death Metal at its best! Eluveitie is surely one of the most exciting bands out there!

Tell me folks, do they have any songs that could be made into a keyboard/piano cover? ;)

  • @TheLostDemocracy : Not really, because they always use the instruments which are typically for Folk music. Bagpipe, Thin Whistle, etc.

Believe me, I tried to make it as a key cover and failed hard :D

  • @EndOfDeceive Too much epicness for keys, haha! xD

  • @TheLostDemocracy i tried omnos... but i failed BIG TIME!! might be because i have no talent for music, so it could work if you try...^^

  • @manusigl Well, I've tried making a cover of Inis Mona, but I can't play the solo! *cries* xD

  • @TheLostDemocracy ooohh!! i love inis mona^^ but i haven't tried this one.. do you have the sheet?

oh my... if you play it often enough, it's gonna work, isn't it? that's how i cover up my nonexisting talents ;)

  • @manusigl Nah, I don't have the sheets. Can barely even read notes, but I rely alot on 'hearing' the notes instead. :P

And yeah, practice is good too. ;)

  • @TheLostDemocracy too bad...^^ ahh... isn't it hard to learn new pieces without the notes??

  • @manusigl It depends on the complexity of the song, I guess. If there is many notes playing fast I could have some difficulties trying to figure them out. Like a solo for instance. There are also a lot of synth effects that are hard to cover too, because of the distortion.

  • @TheLostDemocracy wow ok^^ maybe i'll try in near future ;)

  • @manusigl If I can't figure out anything, I often kind of cheat and look up covers on youtube if I can. ^^

  • One of the bands I find most musically interesting.

Bagpipes + Medlodic Death Metal = WIN!

  • Pure folk metal!!!

  • strong strong

  • Odd, Irish rock? Then I heard the metal, and I was like "ohhh oh ok"

  • Celtic Metal

  • Sooo goood

  • Damn just love this Irish influence in the song :x.Uber song:)

  • Celtic Death Metal? xP

  • lol no

    thats simple folk metal

  • yeah, celtic metal but in their sound you can hear strongly melodic death metal influences

  • @CalIingTheRain This is Folk/Celtic/pagan/death-Metal :=)

  • @CalIingTheRain What's folk metal? Eluveitie is Celtic metal.

  • @CarnivorousExcrement Nothing like Celtic metal doesnt exists. Eluveitie is Melodeath / Folk metal... Celtic metal never was, and never will be...

  • @CarnivorousExcrement The Celtic part means it's heavily influenced by Celtic Folk music. Hence Celtic Metal is part of the Folk Metal genre, just like Eluveitie, Skyclad, and other Folk metal bands use folk influences from one or more regions/peoples. Who cares anyway what kind of genre it's part of, as long as it rox :)

  • @CalIingTheRain oh, and, Korpiklaani is more like "simple" folk metal. These guys have mixed in more contemporary metal and groove tendencies.

  • @CalIingTheRain

    yesno.

they are pagan metal with lots of influences by melodic death metal.

folk metal is more like for example korpiklaani

    @thefetishkingfarts

    Finntroll

    Korpiklaani

    Turisas

    Amon Amarth

  • @TheThommiye

Dude. You can argue about music with me all the time but just look at their homepage. It says New wave of folk metal

  • @CalIingTheRain

hey, its okay, i didnt mean to correct you.

i guess it doesnt matter wheather the're folk or pagan metal, what matters is the music!
