OMG! WHAT SPECIFIC PART OF INDIA WERE U IN? WAS IT TAMIL NADU? i think i had definitley been there. i had encountered many gaurs, elephants, and spotted deer in the forests around the mountain region. it is absolutely beautiful!! and i had been living around yorkshire too :O
Their fur looks soft I wanna pet it so baaaaaaad - You should have brought carrots or something and lured a bull into letting you pet it, that's what I would do
@glambert1225 And for the record, I went vegan for almost a year not eating red or white meat, stopped eating any animal product (i.e. dairy - milk - which I love) though it was hard to not eat honey as that is a really good source of glucose. ;) If I hadn't got Iron deficiency anemia, I probably still would be vegan and living in a monestry somewhere in asia, but thats another story....for a another day.
i think you misunderstood what i said,i said you should tell the animal in his face so he can knock the living daylights outta you meat eaters who only think of animals as meat on their plate, and by the way,i care about animals.
@ragethesavage Honestly, I would like to be right in front of that animals face, it would be interesting from a physiological perspective and to get to know what sort of natural medicinal plants it is eating. I have a theory, no wait fact - wild animals don't take antibiotics, so how do they fight infection, like leptospirosis? Problem with western agriculture is our production system doesn't simulate natural conditions, not that we really understand natural systems for 'domestic animals'.
@ragethesavage I would like to!! Tempting as it might be, I couldn't bring myself to kill one and eat it though, as they would be so rare, and no not rare in the sense of it hadn't benn cooked long enough for my liking lol. I would say this is pretty much a direct descendent of the asiatic wild auruch that is meant to be extinct. The European auruch lasted until around the 15th century, so I don't see why this breed wouldn't be the closest link to this ancient species. I might blog about it.
@liberal4ever Yes, they are much bigger than American Bison. These things can get to be pretty huge. Gaur can be 6-7 feet tall at the shoulder, 8-10 feet long and weigh 2,200-3,300 lbs. They're also the biggest cattle alive today.
