On August 20 1847 was the battle at Churubusco ex-convent/fort, were those brave Irish fought by the last time, and every year at this place we in Mexico city, present honors to them.

I´m from Monterrey, Mexico.. one of the most heroic battles of this war was fought here in my city.. the americans had to negotiate to take the city, the San Patricios were her to help us, and there is a street here called Batallón de San Patricio (San Patrick´s Batallion) to honour them.. we will always remember.
