  • hi bucky , how you doing? thank you so much for online tutorial . u r awesome.

  • The power of someone actually trying to explain a subject instead of just throwing a highly technical manual at you and saying 'see you in a month'... Is not to be under-estimated.

  • @RealBACONATOR2

15 people have 24 hours to learn it all before an assignment eheheh

  • @PICLex

Your right i actually have an exam on Monday :D

  • Hey man you're really great. Talented teacher. With your tutorials I learned a lot of networking. Great job once again!!!!

  • Awesome

  • i love your tutorials man. i wish my lecturers at uni were half as fun and interesting.

  • now teach us p2p

  • According to the book i'm reading, all end-system are hosts. So client and server are basically types of host.

  • Comment removed

  • so a host is also called a server? or is it that a server can be called a host?

  • @billysbobs999 the server is giving the information so yes the server is a host but remember you need a nic card to connet to a network to get information on the server

  • @2:19 I had to help lift and install a bunch of heavy ass blade servers in 12 racks at work. Not fun when they weigh more then a few hundred pounds.

  • So whats different between host and server? thanks

  • wow im learning a lot from you.. Thanks dude.. Im a college undergraduate and its hard to find a job here in our country but having knowledge on computers could give me some money to buy some basic needs.. thanks again.. GOD BLESS YOU!!

  • I want to build a 3 computer server, can i hook internet to just one and the whole network to have internet

  • how can i make home server??

  • So where is the link between the NIC and the host??. Network 101 FAIL imo :-)

  • other wise... Rape!

  • nice tutorials! big help.. i have a question on how to use two monitors at a time?? tnx

  • When I post on a forum, chat, upload stuff or other stuff, would my computer be considered a host?

  • First of i would like to agree with JACENZ, this is a really good tutorial fir beginners!

I would just like to add that NIC's are mostly used for high end servers and workstations these days, because most Motherboards are already equipped with an on board NIC.

  • @Light1c3 Apart from the fact he missed the need to have some sort of switch or router between the two... *rollseyes*

  • So the ''host'' is actually a ''server'', right?

  • @invnd1245 In general, yes.

  • @invnd1245 either or. A server is also a client when on its network..

  • That's a big mofo server for 3 workstations :P

  • thank's can you give me common types of NIC card?

  • Like in call of duty your always the client unless the host quits then a random person gets to be host

  • tHANK YOU^_^NICE

  • tHANK YOU^_^

  • in the terms used in this video, the host is a server. the information presented here basically describes the basics of the client-server model.

  • the host gives the dada, and client gives the dada.

  • @CaraMello21 lol

  • hey can you show me how to connect these thing like do a map what to connect to what and what else do i need i have a server. 4 computer 3 laptop 1 8 port switch i router couple straight cable 2cross cable isp modem how to connect these you can contact me at hotboysheldon@yahoo.com please and thanks

  • Thenewboston, good videos but make sure your information is 100% correct first. If you are a beginner to networking, your best is to buy a CCNA book. Thenewboston knows a little about networking (very broad) but his examples are not 100% accurate.

  • nice

  • Oh, a NIC-Card. Network Interface Card Card. :D ;)

    Nice tutorials, Bucky.

  • it is really cool wish you post the 7th lyer

  • i learn more from this guy than my teachers lol

  • thanks for this wonderful tutorial

  • My teacher used a lot of your video's in class xD It helped a lot of the 'slower' people in the class which you seem to be able to explain to them well.

  • He does an excellent job of explaining the basics. Props to him!

  • Thank you Thank You Thank You! Your tutorials rule!

  • SUBBBNETTTING ARRRG!

  • OMG thanks man, that definitly clears up everything for me now

  • nice

  • I'm in the middle of a career change too...taking Computer Networking and this tutorial is great. Clear things up for me so much, this is better than reading the books which can be more confusing. Thanks keep up the good work!!!!

  • Great Tutorial

  • You are using Photoshop, aren`t you :D

  • @LoonySeo he's using paint ^_^

  • I knew that!!

  • I'm taking some IT classes right now. In the middle of a career change. Anyway, your tutorials really clear things up.

  • i am taking networking courses at itt

  • a workstation is a high performance computer

  • Great Tutorial for Beginers like me :D

  • ????WHY????

  • Has anybody taken courses in Computer Networking at ITT Technical Institute?

  • yea im am right now

  • That you for the you tube view i have a question about you 3 network tutorial 3 with the star type network that interconnects all the nodes but how do you connect all of them together is it a switch or router

  • I am thinking about taking Computer Networking at ITT.

    Has anybody done it there?

If so tell me how it was.

  • I meant basic in a good way. It taught me a lot so far but one guy was saying it was too complicated and i couldn't help but laugh at him lol.

  • good work man. keep teaching us, we love it. seriously, Thanks alot

  • Hello all i will try to make this to the point as much as i can and would really apreciate some decent guidance

I am a newcomer but to be honest i find this concept of netwoking very interesting and i wold lke to get a beetr understanting of it all but thru y research i found only things that at a ceratin stage confuse me a lot and to be honest i am tottaly lost thats why i would like to ask for some uidance in regards on how to beggin like books or courses but at a vrey basic level please

  • Are you kidding me this is as basic as it comes lol. I'm not making fun of you I just find it funny :)

  • It may be basic to you, but helpful to others...

  • Server basically provides different services like web services, files services, print services and the clients send requests for those services and the server responds to the client requests. Simple is that.

  • if you are upp to date on your computer hardware you would nknow that most NIC's are being outdated by the Gigabit port built in to most MB's these days...meaning no slot usage.

  • It's not called NIC card, just NIC

  • i totally agree...haha

    it only makes it redundant

  • It does not, because NIC stands for Network Interface Controller that is commonly seen in card form, but the 'controller' may take the form of a network card that is installed inside a computer, OR it may refer to an embedded component as part of a computer motherboard, a router, expansion card, printer interface or a USB device.

  • you are the best

  • you are a great man

  • soooo can a server also be considered a host

  • @skatergirl314628 well yes becuz your recieving information from a website or any other source

  • @skatergirl314628 i know you posted a year ago but wudn't a server be considered a super host? lol that sounds funny. hi im your super host. would you like sum wine?

  • @skatergirl314628 Yes, A server is a type of host, thats why when you have a website you need a server to "host" it.

  • @skatergirl314628 yes a "big host" since it has more information then a computer

  • Comment removed

  • @skatergirl314628

    Yes it can.

  • @skatergirl314628

Yes it can. Depending what type of server it is. Thing is servers have to get information put on it before they can share it.

  • @skatergirl314628

no, a server IS a host.

  • how is information stored on the server

  • The same as information is stored on a pc.

  • I don't get it!

  • thanks it too much help ful vedios

  • Photoshop does help out in such stuff...lol

  • Based on one of the Computer Networking books, Hosts are sometimes further divided into two categories: clients and Servers.

  • bucky! :D teach us ip addressing and subnetting please please!

  • brother ou explain everthing using simplicity.thanks very much!!

  • a normal computer can be a server too

  • You don't need a NIC card if you have it built in to your mobo which most do these days. But it is good to have one as some NIC cards performs much better than the ones built in to the mobo.

  • only fucker who ever been able to teach me about computers. ty so much i love you man.

  • Please more C++ tuts! :)

  • Are you making C++ tuts anymore?

  • Cool thanks Bucky
