  • @Poodleinacan

xD Yep, I don't think there's a way to beat this stage without it.

  • Nice run! Do you think it would be possible to do this challenge on the GBA version?

  • @gleepdiddly

    Thanks! ^_^

From what I understand, it is doable. Many of the glitches in the original SNES one apparently got ported over to the GBA one (as well as a few new ones too). I haven't searched myself, but I'd imagine it would be possible. Don't quote me entirely on that though, lol.

  • @SuzakuBlitz Many of the SNES glitches were indeed ported, like the magic mirror and death mountain descent tricks. However, I couldn't be asked to skip the sword, and dark world crystals don't fall unless you have the master sword. So I had to go to the tower of hera for the moon pearl, descend death mountain, go to the dark palace for the magic hammer, kill the moldorm, get the master sword, then kill the helmasaur king. It was quite odd. :/

Also, the lamp was given a lot of new uses. :0

  • @gleepdiddly

Weird. Hmmm, the FAQ I read that originally inspired me to do this was a GBA FAQ, so not too sure how different it is. Though even if the crystals don't fall without the Master Sword, it's not like you can't just Mirror out and leave then come back after clearing out every other boss and then getting the Master Sword after.

Though yeah, the Lamp does seem to have a lot more utility in the GBA version now, lol.

  • @SuzakuBlitz I actually killed the HK before getting the master sword, and found myself STUCK, unable to use anything but the sword. I got the heart container, but the crystal wouldn't drop and then I found myself locked in the room. It was awesome. :0

I did a few more dungeons and now I'm getting myself destroyed by Kholdstare. Is it against the rules to bring a fairy in the necessary bottle? :/ I could just skip him until after dungeons 6 and 7, which is likely to happen.

  • @gleepdiddly

Well, that is a very odd glitch O-o I wonder what caused it.

And yeah, Kholdstare is such a pain because if you miss even once with the hammer, it tends to end with a four heart punish X_X Just keep working on it. Precision with the Hammer and keeping up with the timing of the falling ice will help a lot.

  • @SuzakuBlitz I beat Kholdstare, but needed the extra two hearts from the other dungeons. I'm now on Ganon's Tower, epically failing with the net. After I beat Agahnim again, I can't kill Ganon without the sword, so what do I do?

  • @gleepdiddly

Unfortunately, Ganon, from what I understand, is the one instance where you will need the sword, sadly. Oh well. Still an achievement to get through the rest of the game without it ^_^

  • @SuzakuBlitz I copied my file, so I now have one file beating him minimalist and Lv2 sword (still hard as hell), and one file glitching to the ending room so I can do the 4 sword palace. Ganon hits for 8 hearts!!! Also, the Arrghus and Mothula rematchs I tried are going to take some doing. >.<

  • @gleepdiddly

Wow, Ganon is beastly in the GBA version xD He only hits for four in the SNES version, so it's simpler there. Though I think the difficulty is more streamlined for the GBA version, it seems.

  • @SuzakuBlitz It seems you're right. On a test file, I managed to win the game by an exploration glitch. Arrghus II beaten, Mothula II almost beaten, Blind II is killing me, and I can't figure out how to hit Helmasaur II without the sword. I can't quite win against Ganon on my minimalist lv2 sword file.

Thanks for the playthrough idea, I really enjoyed doing it. Definitely keep up your videos, I liked this series. ^_^

  • @gleepdiddly

Hehe, go go go! Good luck with your run!

And I plan to keep up with my videos, just at this time I have no controller, so I can't really do my videos without messing up incredibly badly ; ; Hopefully get something done in the near future though!

    Oh, and happy holidays! ^_^

  • @SuzakuBlitz Happy Holidays!

  • You forgot to reveal a valuable clue.

At 9:46, the rocks on the bottom of the screen block a way outside. Exit and re-enter may serve as a checkpoint in case you die later on in the dungeon.

  • @InfernalPurge

Hmmm, I knew that exit existed but there was a few omissions about that part, including using it as a checkpoint. Porting back to the Light World and entering the cave there is also a fairy spring, so it's a good refill point too! Oh well, I guess I could chalk it up to running low on time, heh~ =p

  • Interesting to watch as always :) though you seemed none too please with Trinexx, you never stopped trying to smash him with your hammer lol. Can't wait for the next part!

  • @Pokeus

lol, yeah. Funny thing is that Trinexx was probably the easiest part of the stage, getting to him was quite annoying~

  • Wow. That was awesome. I didn't even know you could beat Trinexx without a sword. Same for Tower of Hera guy, but anyway. Nice video. :)

  • @dumb180

    Thank you ^_^

  • Nice! I can't even beat trinexx (in a normal minimalist run) with a sword!

  • @SSBMaster11

Thank you! I found it was easiest to hit Trinexx as he runs his wide oval around you from the north end to the south end of the room. I don't know why, but that was easiest for me to do to get to hit him. Maybe that'll work for you too ^_^ Just don't run straight for very long and keep sidestepping him to avoid his incredibly painful hits X_X

  • nice work, to bad you got the sword though, would have liked to see a hack in

  • @Lukishrules

Yeah, the only room I believe it's possible to glitch into causes the game to crash, sadly :/ Oh well. Thanks for the compliment ^_^
