Its called the "Stomp and Shake" style of cheerleading. Came to being around the 1970's - 80's. Very native to HBCU's of NC, VA, DC and MD. Builds on traditional cheerleading. You have to be elite at traditional cheering before you can even attempt "Stomp and Shake". The beat patterns, stomps, claps, motions, and shakes are very challenging.
