@SuperHathos They dispatch the EMS and they are already on there way as soon as you call...They keep you on the line so they can update the EMS/COPs on the situation via computer...Im a trained EMT. It's a common misconception that they ask questions and waut to send help.

I think the operator did a good job. He took her serious, the call was totally bizarre. The min she told him a chimp he relayed the info. He could have treated it as a joke call. He kept the cops safe by treating it serious.

This was a horrific thing. That poor lady is now blind she has no eyes. I couldn't imagine.

All the emergency calls to police make the dispatchers sound really retarded but I think the truth is they immediately sent someone out as soon as they know what is happening, they just try to calm the callers and tell them what to do to protect themselves. But I agree that the police is too slow and only arrives when the damage is done.

First of all, the 911 operator has to access what is going on at the residence so the police know what to expect when they get there...the operator did dispatch police while on the phone with the woman...bear in mind that talking to her and keeping her on the phone keeps her away from the chimp and safe from harm herself. Police was sent immediately when she called, his job is keep her calm and gather as much information as he can to give to the officers that are already on the road. That they way they are better prepared to respond to the situation and can solve the problem more efficiently.
