@C00lfaec I think i made this before they come out. anyhow, mine has a tapered barrel for starters and a mild steel base tapped and screwed. similar looking though. and i wouldnt pay 47 dollars for whats no more than a mornings work in the workshop.

Most people such as myself aren't engineers.

The concept of a cannon is simple; the chamber holds the pyrodex power and the ball and directs the energy from the explosion forward, the fuse hole allows you to ignite the powder in the chamber, and the bottom soaks up recoil to keep the cannon on target and more predictable.

However, there's more to it, you cant just drill 2 holes in some brass, slap some wheels on the bottom and call it a cannon. That will blow you up.

To make a similar cannon: start with 3/4" bronze rod. Turn to concentric cylinder. Drill/ream bore. Center in v-block and drill fuse hole at back of bore. Mill trunion holes into sides (flat bottom holes, not too deep). Turn profile in lathe and cut off final shape. Braze trunion pegs into sides. Machine base from three pieces of sheet brass/bronze, assemble, ready, aim, fire. One of the trunions in this cannon is threaded for locking down elevation, do something similar.

i made it on a harrison lathe, and after that using basic tools and a pillar drill.

im working on doing a 3d model but im still learning the modeling software. there are people selling them, i think a guy called MicrotekMybisi will ship one within the US.

Are you using black powder? Is flash powder going to work best? I know black powder is used as lifting powder which is what flash can't do. So I'm not sure if it will even fly fast or so with flash (since it is not lifting powder and won't lift it much), maybe this isn't about lift but rather about its push and force.

unlikley my friend. the main issue with this cannon is that the barrel is short, modern .22 rifle bullets powder is designed to burn slowly, so that it continues to burn and push the bullet all the way up the barrel. you need to find a powder that burns and very high speeds. i failed using different powders. i tired handgun powder and rifle powder. however there are many brands, just use the fastest, finest burning powder you can get your filthy mits on.

i think his is real. i believe he used a good fast burning propelant and a very small hole for the fuse. mine is scaled up slighty and more powder so yea i think its real.
