What people need to realize and understand is that people who are physically abusive rarely do so because of a "seasonal" situation. A loss of a job or car, or stresses @ work are never excuses for putting your hand on ANYONE, and (just as Xem stated) the threats of abuse can never be taken lightly. When the car is back in the driveway, and the paychecks state rolling in, abusers keep on abusing because it is empowering.

Xem, this video is truly plucking at my heartstrings! Im recently out of a relationship. He wasn't abusive, but tried to be. For some odd reason he couldn't handle the fact that I too, just like him, had a strong personality. There was one time where we had a fight tho, & that was "the straw that broke the camel's back".
