But not to mention the massive amounts of memory overhead needed accomplish the high standard of terrain deformability that people will say is "realistic" is outright impractical. At least, until liquid nitrogen-cooled, quad-GPU, THz-chip, virtual reality PC systems are standard.

lmao, the nuke was meant to be a cheat, and only used at the end game. Besides, if you wanted a more realistic nuke, go get some mods, there's about 50 of them that accomplish the same thing.

And no, terrain isn't destructible and shouldn't be. It's a gimmick that breaks games.

i ve seen only bfbc2 which has this realistic terrain+environment dmg. if u put that into crysis as well it will be very realistic but i doubt that there will be computers for us normal users which will be able to display it fluently.

Imho, the graphics are amazing in Crysis, especially the details, but this is just crap....

If this is suposed to be a nuke bomb, then it sucks......Crytek should look at Valve, with their amazing physics in halflife 2 (+ep1-2)

the Tac-gun as you use it in your video was not available in crysis! they did not implement that gun to the game, so why should they work out a full area effect for it? If you use other explosives you will see better area effects, but i think what you see in the video is already very impressive

That gun was never finished! only the gun at the end of game was finished and you can't get it through devmode.

Sorry, but this video is stupid. You obviously have no idea about what goes on in terms of the processing the computer does. If you did, you would realise that any realistic simulation would require several super computers to run in real time, your desktop would probably cope with it at a steady 0.00001 FPS.

4. making all the terrain types react with explosions and apply cryE2's physics in all of the stuff in-game(besides making the game run smoothly in those conditions would be impossible, like i said before)would cost a lot and take a lot of time to make, so if you want that features, do it yourself

5.the technology at that time (dx9 chips and in the later game developing dx10 chips) wasnt powerful enough (the best avaliable was 88oogts i think) and not even that board runs smoothliy at higher res

1. crysis is not meant to be realistic(alien meteores crashing, nanosuits etc) but was meant to be the game with the best graphics ever. despite the faults, its still the game with the best graphics ever, but i hope that fc2 knocks out crysis in graphics.

2. i played only a bit of the game, i dont have it. is that nuke in-game or a mod? i presume its in-game

3. you want descructible terrain etc... that would make the game run worse in you pc, is that what you want?
