  • guitars, bass, voice and drumms in amalgama, such a perfect sound

  • fucking genius

  • Moshpit to this song? I would.

  • I don't think Morrissey has the slightest idea how good the rhythm section of Rourke / Joyce were...such solid drumming is not common...not now, not then...they deserve every penny...

  • The drummer ipnotizes me.

  • this was filmed about 300 metres from my house. god i love this band.

  • I was looking the entire song to see finally what´s the strange sound after the drum ending, and all we can see is the handycam going down... I will never know... :(

  • So, is that what Morrissey looks like in a fight?

    If so, he probably loses.

But that's okay, because he would surely out-dance his competition anytime.

  • I really wish the smiths would of made more songs like this uptempo rockin kind.

  • Smths will never die.

  • OI!!! his isn't What she said. This is London!!!

  • Never mind Oasis... Here is The Smiths!

  • This is one of the most overlooked and underrated Smith's songs

  • Proper awesome dance moves by the Moz. Like he's a giant kitten battling other-dimensional entities that we can't see.

  • Love those rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Love this song, wanna go to London.

  • this band is so good it cant be true, they must be using performance inhancing drugs,,all joking aside, smiths ,,,best band ever,,by miles...

  • HE IS BEAUTIFUL............. i aint gay

  • Absolutely brilliant ! Thanks Gambini - I've always had the record, but I'd never seen any footage

  • Absolutely brilliant ! Thanks Gambini - I've always had the record, but I'd never seen any footage.

  • that was class man. thanks for mixing the rank album footage with some live footage. it looks so awesome and raw.. pure golden

  • sounds good live

  • who's the second guitarist?

i thought that Smiths were a quartet..

  • craig gannon

  • They were a quartet for most of the time. He was brought onboard near the end- he was with them for a little less than a year.

  • thanks for the info too

  • @greyagain During their tour for their third album they very wisely employed a second guitarist as all the tracks were multi-layered

  • @greyagain Craig Gannon - he was dafted in to play rhythm whilst Johnny Marr just basically rocked out and played his lead and pickey bits. Craig Gannon was also part of Aztec Camera

  • pure class

  • That was brilliant! I really like Morrissey's dance at the end, he reminds me of Ian Curtis.

  • @sirenvox

invisible paperbag over his top half :)

  • One of their best songs

  • Thanks for sharing mate!

    cheers !! ☺

  • Wow

  • forgot how good it was!

  • For all those Smiths fans saying that Mike Joyce is no good...Here's a Proof of his killer drumming...and he does that on many live/studio Smiths tracks...so please show some respect to him as well is all I'm saying!!!

  • mike joyce must of had arms like popeye after that ending solo. mega song mega band mega thanks for posting video.

  • What the phuck is going on here? I thought I had my Smith's obsession under control for the last 15 years. I need help! I'm RELAPSING!

  • Name one punk band that rocked as furiously as this. Anyone?

  • @marcabra The Who.

  • @NoNoseProduction. Yes, quite true at that.

  • @marcabra dang, wanted you to argue they aren't Punk... was going to be like "Yeah true, god fathers of punk."

    pssh ruined my trap.

  • @NoNoseProduction Uh, they do have a firmly placed foot in Punk, but Iggy Pop was more the godfather. He was doing it 15 years earlier. For the record, The Smiths made the 1980s -- incredible band.

  • Moz! =)

  • Mike Joyce KIILLLLZZ on this one.

  • London is all about Johnny Marr and Mike Joyce showing off; Great stuff. Makes me want to mosh in a pit.....

  • check the cover of London by Anthrax, of course it can't match the original version, but i think it's quite speedmetal-ish

  • I just did, and it really kicks ass, especially the end. Thanks for the tip!

  • when i first heard the recording of this, i thought, "theres no way the crazy drum part is real." As it sounds like someone else is hitting the symbols But watching this has shown me what an great drummer Mike Joyce was!

  • Cool video! Moz had moves! Is this an amateur footage? The sound quality is actually pretty good.

  • amateur footage with audio from the Rank album

  • all this footage is amazing!! rank is one of my all time fave albums...live or otherwise...had it in cassette format!!

    lol

    now it's on the ipod

  • I'm straight except for Morrisey.

  • Morrrrrissey rrrrrrrolling is rrrrrrr's...cool

  • Haha ace! I have this mp3 on my PSP, pretty cool to have see the video to the song. Amazing live, I wish I was alive back then to see them live.

  • Oh my fucking god, how cool is this video!!!!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet as!!

  • Seriously... FUCKING CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...............

  • Fucking chhoooooooNNNNNN.....

  • This is why Youtube Rocks !

  • Brilliant mate, Rank is a fantastic album, listening to the smiths live is just a completely unique experience. I can't imagine what watching them live would be like.

  • Hey U absolutley right about Mike and Andy. I also hate the fact that everyone talks about Moz and Marr. They are great musicians lots of respect to all of them.

  • How amazing is Mike Joyce's drumming at the end of that song!!! Up-most respect to him for that + he's a nice guy in real life, i hate the way people bring him and Andy Rourke down.

    Leave them alone :-)

    Peace x

  • @ItTakesStrength Tightest rhythm section EVER
