  • Bret is a legend and was my idol as a kid but he's so full of his own self importance it makes me gag! Bret thinks he's better than everyone...even better than the WWE it's self. After watching his first DVD documentary i lost a lot of respect for him, he couldn't even let poor Davey Boy have his glory at summer slam 92...he said "Davey thought that was his moment but he was wrong....it was my momemnt" gaaaaa what a idiot! I'll always remember summer slam 92 cause of Davey Boy...not Bret!

  • yeah brett it doesn't seem real at all now and it changed to the worse because it's pg if it turned pg13 again i will be the happiest person ever. which i hope will happen in the next years pg13 is the best better than rated r and better than just pg

  • IWOULD FUCK THE SHIT OUTTA YOU,BRET!

  • He's right, wrestling isn't the same anymore. It was when RAW and Smackdown split up that i quit watching wrestling. Too much talking, not enough fighting.

  • brets the best :)

  • love u Breeeeeeeeeeet ♥

  • i know he is a sexy beast

  • o_O

  • I love Bret Hart and his style...

  • Bret is truly a legend. He is right wrestling it's not what it used to be. That's why i mostly watch Pro wrestling NOAH and dragon gate. Anyone interested you should watch those. I barely catch wwe like every two months or so.

  • smackdown is actually pretty good now man u should check it out plus bryan danielson and nigel mcguiness to the wwe (hopefully they r used right).

  • I heard about that, that wwe was interested in them though i am worried they are going to screw it up. Try noah and i know you'll like it.

  • ya man i already have watched some noah and its righteous

  • glad to meet a fellow fan I can't seem to get enough of it. I have been trying to keep up with wwe though.

  • no you wouldn't

  • bet hart is rite, becuz i havent watched wrestling in 9 years, it doesnt have dat real feel anymore. its jus so fake. nobody i kno still watches wrestling.

  • no body i kno, kno how ta spell eidder.....you are a dipshit

  • shut up bitch, wat da fuck u talkin bout. there no eidder, u got da wrong nigga.

  • You are a typical sparkling wiggle.

  • Da hood love me like grape kool-aid

  • I hope you are white and just f*cking around, because if you are black....well you got that going for you so I guess I don't have to say anymore............

hahahhahahahah you just got fucked up.

  • In response to Robcass7 and anyone else who wants or thinks Bret should wrestle again, I hate to break it to you but he's retired and physically can't wrestle again even if he wanted to. Not only did he have a stroke back in 2002 I believe, he can't risk getting another concussion. I want to see him wrestle again just like everyone else, but he physically can't.

  • it is so unfortunate...i would love to see it but i know it wont happen because of his overall well being...with such an illustrious career us hitman fans never really got one last great match.

  • i would pay $100 to see brett hart wrestle one more time at wrestle mania...i would start watching wrestlin again is brett hart came back...i bet alot of people would too...wwe needs to get a cluuuueeee n get him back

  • if vegas an vince mcmahon find out about that $100 deal, it may just happen

  • I would pay 100 just to thank him for being a great actor/person and wrestler for my child hood.

  • Before some of you start spouting off, please learn proper spelling and grammar.

  • wwf wresterling died in 96 ! its horrible now !

  • damn right

  • It's not bad but it could be better. Both WWE and TNA have some great talent that they are not making the most of. The key is not finding the new Bret Hart, but making megastars out of CM Punk, Orton, Edge, etc.

  • Wrestling in 1997 was one of the most memorable years in wrestling, so thumbs down to you.

  • one more show or even better come back for wresltemania and compete it like have a wrestlemania all legends and bring them all back and have all the legends compete at mania

including ones that are active like flair, sting, hogan, piper, rhodes, triple h, hbk, taker, and many many others

call it like wrestlemania 26 or something

    wrestling legends

  • bret is a great wrestle and i miss him but i miss owen hart more i wish he didnt die just like i wish eddie and benoit didnt

id love to see bret and jim come back for

  • Before replying, go learn legalitys. It was in Brets contract that he had every right to control the last 30 days of his WWE stay. Understand that? Vince signed the contract for it agreeing to the stipulation. Get it? As for Triple H and HBK, come back when you know what politics they pulled to be where they are now. Bret never once played politics now those two jerks.

  • You believe everything VInce says?

  • I don't believe any of them!

  • Not to worry guys, this piece of shit greatwhitenorth13 closed his account, and after talking all that shit too! What a idiot. Starts something, then leaves. That's a true coward for you. Anyway Bret's the best. His book was phenomenal. Personally one of the best wrestling books I have ever read. I reccomend that people read it. Truly a incredible, powerful, inspirational, story.

  • thank you that he left

    you think greatwhitenorth is HBK

  • i read the book, and dispite the ending being very sad I know this isn't the end for bret... the final chapers have not occured yet!!! we love you bret! all the best!

  • wow you really got issues

  • Hey FuckFace, shut the hell up you piece of Grade A Monkey Shit!

    RESPECT BRET!

  • i need to get that book....i hear its become an international best seller....thumbs up for you hitman!

  • he is the best is. the best ther was and the best ther ever will be. and no one can say anything other wise

  • he needs to return for one finally match against HBK to finally put the SS '97 screwjob to rest

  • Bret Hart talks about being screwed yet in the old independent wrestling days, wrestlers got screwed many times as far as an unwillingness to job. Promoters have been lying to wrestlers forever. He talks about wrestling 300 days a year yet guys like Flair and Rhodes wrestled 365 days a year and they had families as well. Hart, for years, talked about being a role model and having family values yet he cheated on his first wife many times and has been divorced twice.

  • Degenx1973 obviously has a problem with talking about guys dicks. Sounds like he has his lips wrapped around Vince Jr.'s LOL. All I did was state the facts about what happened in Montreal without calling Degenx1973 any names. Bottom line is Bret never lied to Vince. Vince lied to Bret and Vince admits it. Vince never should have given Bret creative control in his contract if he is worried about his employees not doing what he wants. And according to ratings at the time, WCW had #1 belt. LOL

  • But Vince was the boss and Bret was the employee and when an employee tries to become the boss thats what the boss does

  • agree

  • To bad the boss and some of his cronies cant be trusted to keep thier word. Vince should have fired him if he was the boss like you claim. OH thats right! Bret had a contract that Vince agreed to and signed. I guess he didnt want to get sued by bret so vince just lied to bret, screwed him over, and showed the whole world what a trustworthy "boss" he is. Shawn and HHH are such bitches that you see where they ended up. Shawn "got religion" LOL, and HHH married Steph. What a soap opera them 2 are!

  • HaartBreakKid is right your just wrong ;)

  • christalkshowrule I bet you arent even old enough to remember when this happened even if you were alive then. You dont set up the ring for pat patterson do you? LOL

  • bret hart rules...that's the bottomline

  • Bret's been through BS from here to mars and is still going. much respect

  • Then HHH lied on an Off the Record show in early 1998, along with Michael Hayes and Chyna, and Vince lied to Bret about the outcome of the match at Survivor Series to his face. Boy, these arent credible people at all. Anyway Kudos to Bret for having the deceny to write a honest, and decent book that was unauthorized and unpublished by the WWE. Long live the Hitman.

  • we all need to realize that Vince McMahon is that type of guy who fears strong people

if you don't agree with him or kiss his ass you are an enemy

He has gotten rid of the people who are strong and indepdent. It is no coincidence that the worst people in the backstage locker room are running the politics and the leading stars of the company.

  • Bret's not as bitter as he used to be. Really he's not. At the end of the day he is still honest, whereas people like Ric Flair, HHH, HBK, and Vince McMahon like to spew lies to cover their tracks. Case in point Bret was honest in his book, he is no saint by a long shot, but at least he was honest. Shawn's book was loaded with lies, and Flair bullshitted and lied all throughout his book.

  • 100% agree, compare the detail and dates in Brets book to theirs, and the fact he speaks highly of them in the beginning and you realise who the truth has come from.

  • Bret harts 1 of the coolest guys in the world.

  • the best full stop.

  • Real guy, wrestling legend! Much respect Bret!

  • Bret actually had a real life fight with HBK backstage because HBK was irritaing him and causing trouble

people who saw the fight such as the hawk wrestlers said that Bret easily dominated over shawn and would've killed him if they had not broken up the fight.

When the fight ended Bret had a clump of Shawn's hair

  • Man, my childhood hero lost his spark after his stroke.

I agree that he's miserable because of so much that has happened. All the people who passed away.

  • maybe kurt angle is the closest "bret hart" in wrestling today

  • I want to learn to wrestle professionally from this guy.

  • The guy looks fucking misrable...

  • reading book started yesterday so far shocked!

  • a MUST-read for those like me, big wrestling fan in the 80's and 90's!

  • i love the hit man,i love his honesty.

  • Great book Bret really did a good job on it.

  • Bret Hart is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. He was a wrestler that was one of a kind. Frankly WWE is fuckin' stupid.

  • I miss Bret Hart.I've always respected his honesty.I should buy his book and add it to my Bret Hart collection.

  • Bret is still hot.

  • Bret looks really well

  • well as longest WWE can hold on with 2.7 to 3.5 rating etc there okay. but if ever reach 1.9 then really in trouble.

  • If bret went to TNA Wrestling...WWE would go out of buisness in 5 years ill give it !!!

  • i doubt that you make it sound like bret hart will wrestle for TNA to put TNA out of business. bret hart appearing at TNA not going to put WWE out of Business but it would help enhance TNA global presence to the Fans.

  • lol I wish but I don't think that will happen...how about the Rock?

  • Legend! BTW amazing book

  • Wrestlers have a hard life...much respect when you are standing there in the ring. The Hitman didn't give up..Bret Hart the best.

  • Fuckin Wicked Book

  • Was Montreal a work?

  • No it was not a work, it was a business decision by Vince to get the belt of bret to prevent any chance of him of taking the wwe title to wcw which bret wouldn't have a did but vince took a few wrestlers at their word before and they turned on him e.g.(hall, nash, hogan, luger, alundra blaze) and being on the ropes at that time he didn't want to risk it because it probably wouldve been the nail in the coffin for wwe.

  • there no bret hart's in wwe or in tna

  • WWE now days is for ADHD fans. Everything happens so quickly it's getting pathetic.

  • i have to agree but it is addicting but pathetic

  • haha i like how you said that.

I hope in the future, maybe next year they'll start fixing it, going back to how they were back in the day. lol.

I have some attention issues lol. :P

  • Bret hasn't brought up the screwjob for years in any interviews unless he's asked. I listened to him on thebizzleshow the other week and when the bland interviewer said "tell us about Montreal", Bret said "do we really need to go through that again".

It's great his book tours are doing well and it has a lot of interest. The grestest wrestler ever deserves it.

  • his vioce is low?

  • ''There are No bret hart's'' this statement is so fucking true!.. the greatest technician of all time!

  • 5 moves of doom?

I'd call them signature moves, something that every wrestler worth his salt has.

To be WWF champion 5 times takes a lot more that just 5 moves.

  • Exactly. That whole '5 moves of doom' argument is so thin. It's for people who watch a couple of the famous PPV matches and assume he used the sharpshooter to finish every match, preceeded by a couple of his signature moves. Bret had different matches all the time with different guys and he would adapt his storytelling to each type/style of wrestler. His matches has the most creative finishes I've ever seen.

  • I gave you a thumb downs.

  • Sleeping pills may work.

  • What great match did you have?? I must have missed that one. Who did you wrestle?? You're tired of hearing from him yet you're watching it???? Give me a break man. I don't know why I'm even responding to you, Bret doesn't need me to defend him, his work speaks for himself. I don't think he mentions the screwjob in this WHOLE interview. I get it, you're a Shawn mark... makes sense now.

  • Uh huh.................

  • He may be "Ancient". but I respect Bret Hart.

  • Ancient? Really? What do Hogan, Austin, Rock, Flair, HHH, and HBK all have in common? BRET HART KICKED ALL THEIR ASSES!!! Blow that.

  • ...Yep, he kicked their asses...because wrestling is real and stuff. Are you kidding me?

  • The "E" in WWE stands for ENTERTAINMENT. I am not only a Bret Hart fan, not only a fan of the WWE, but something else not characteristic (look it up) of a wrestling fan. I have common sense and am well educated. Don't make a comment and then get all pissy because someone else has a difference of opinion. That's what makes wrestling fun (or supposed to be). It's all entertainment. DEFINITION OF ENTERTAINMENT: fun.

  • I too am an educated person. I've been watching wrestling since the early 80's. WWF, WWE, WCW, ECW, NJPW, CZW, ROH, UWF, AWA, NWA, WCCW. And i take it for what it is...our generation's circus. You count how many minutes in an episode or Raw are actually wrestling and not the bullshit that we've had to put up with the past 10-15 years. But for someone to say, "BRET HART KICKED ALL THEIR ASSES!!!" is just plain old IGNORANCE. HBK beat Hogan. Does that mean that HBK is a bigger star than Hogan?

  • OK. Let's start from the beginning. Me saying "Bret Hart kicked all their asses' is not an ignorant statement. That would imply I am an ignorant person. If I had put "My favorite wrestler defeated all those other wrestlers you mentioned", what's the fun in that? Did I say Bret Hart was better than those wrestlers you mentioned? No. Bret Hart did beat those wrestlers you mentioned. A factual statement. Is HBK bigger than Hogan just because he beat him? No. We're both big wrestling fans. COOL?

  • COOL, My Brotha

  • That's because Bret is considered the Greatest.

  • Bret Hart is one of the most respected man in wrestling. He has been revered as one of the world's most gifted wrestlers.

I don't know what you are talking about

Bret Hart keeps it real and he tells the truth some of HBK, HHH marks are unable to handle that.

  • He keeps it real.....Real BITTER

  • but he still tells the truth

better to be bitter and honest than a

    bitter lier

  • he has a right to be mann....14 years of loyalty taken away from him...thats painful shht..

  • Well after I deciphered this message with my "Retard to English dictionary", allow me to retort...He was asked to do the"honors" when leaving. Something every other wrestler does. He refused and used Canada as an excuse. That's a cop out. and when Vince did what he had to do, he gets pissed? Are you kidding me? That 14 years of loyalty got flushed down the shitter when he refused to give up the belt. Bret made his bed, and he spends the next 10 years bitching about it. Get the fuck over it!!

  • retard to english..lol..did I offend you that much? chill fam, lol. listen neither of us were there so no one can speak on the issue except those 2 and all who were involved. what I hear was that they did have an agreement for him to give up the title afterrrr the ppv at raw.

  • I WAS there...and learn where the letters are on your keyboard. if you listen to any interviews...by WWE, shoot, or watch wrestling with shadows, Vince asked Bret to drop it at the PPV. Thats where most HW titles are dropped. After Madusa, Alundra Blaze, or whatever the fuck her name is, showed up with a WWF belt n her hand Vince couldn't risk it again. And Bret should have known that. That long in the business the knowledge he had, he should have known that was the best thing to do. SO FUCK HIM

  • listen chill with the insults "aight"? no need for that... I know about the alundra thing. what I meant was there's always 2 sides to a story so only him and vince know what was originally agreed upon, and both of their stories obviously differ. i'll check out the dvd's you mentioned, thanks. bret's still my fav, but if he was in the wrong, i got no problem saying that..

  • Obviously degenx1973 never heard that Bret had legal creative control over his contract, in ring caracter, and the outcome of his matches for the last 30 days in the WWE. Vince is a liar, Shawn is "born again" hypocrite, HHH was sucking up to Shawn and Vince and lied on camera to Brets wife about what happened. Pat "the fag" Patterson came up with the idea, Jerry Brisco helped Shawn out of the ring so he didnt get beat up, and Earl Hebner swore on his kids life he was innocent! Suck ass liars!

  • Yeah I heard about the 30 day thing too...you know what thhough, karma's a bitch, it'll all come back. Bret's always gon be the man!!

  • Let me repeat myself because obviously it needs 2 b done. Bret has Creative Control. SO WHAT? Vince asked him 2 do what every other respectable wrestler has done, and do the "honors" at a major PPV. His contract was up and VInce couldn't risk him showing up on WCW with the Top Belt in the business. He did what was best for WWE, and wreslting. He's the owner. Period. You guys need to get off of Bret's dick and realize what really happened. Bret got what he deserved... Fuck him and his lazy eye

  • i agree with you and he also refused to lose the belt to HBK so HBK did what was an equaliser. I agree with yu i dont care what any1 says and how innocent bret tries to be

  • Kid you better get your facts straight. HBGay refused to drop the belt to Bret first so Bret had Shawn go in Vinces office and they had a meeting. Shawn admitted to saying he would not drop the belt to Bret. So turnabout is fair play. By the way your comment about Vince being the boss and all, lol, Vince hasnt given anyone creative control in there contract since Bret had it in '97. Vince fucked up bad and he knows it. Show does Shawn, HHH, Brisco, Patterson, Heubner, etc. Liars and hypocrites!

  • he looks like shit

  • stress...stroke...more stress...

  • Bret is beginning to look like his dad.

  • I got this book and I gotta say, it was very interesting. It made me respect him like I had again. However, I did notice that his side of the story of the Montreal Screwjob, was once again slanted. He did have in his last month with WWE 30 days creative control. But that was over his character, not the belt that someone laid down to give him. One of the best, yes, I believe that immensely. And I'm a Shawn Michaels fan. But THE best ever? I have my doubts. One name comes to mind...RIC FLAIR

  • Bret Hart is was and will be the best wrestler aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee period bitches...

  • i was so impressed by bound for glory 4, tna is definately growing, almost would like to see a one time appearance with bret in the ring with angle, but brets all about wrestling.

  • Like Bret Hart would go to TNA hahaha!! TNA is the last place he would go!

  • TNA? Growing? Their ratings have been stuck in the 1.0 area in the last two years. Their SLs make no sense and... well... it's basically WWE-Lite.

Back when it actually focused on AJ Styles, Joe, and others and was actually different.. THAT was good. Today, it's just... all the same.

  • lol tna is like a wwe-lite... but they are definately putting on a entertaining show, i think tna has some good stars that are working hard like james storm who should get a major push after his tag team run, with a storyline to bach him up, i also think tna should scout undiscovered wrestlers similiar to matt cyndal(evan bourne)'s style to capitlaize on the whole total nonstop action thing.

  • Oh don't get me wrong, TNA has some amazing performers and they were different to watch at one time. The problem is, they always forget to include logic, force 50 storylines a week down our throats, and give their performers terrible gimmicks.

If they just kept the total nonstop action gimmick (seriously, only four matches last night?), they would be something to watch. Instead of being different, they're being a fourth WWE brand.

    The 1.0 ratings prove that.

  • well i dont really think wwe is a really a standard to compare anything to these days. I think the 2.7 raw ratings prove that. Isnt that what nitro was doing before they went under? Raw is too corny and cartoonish these days, they need to get back to the attitude era and give the fans what they actuall want.

  • Nitro was pulling around the 1.5 area, then 1.0, then under that. RAW's current rating was 2.9, rounded up from 2.89.

It is definitely a standard if you're wanting to become a big company, however, a different company shouldn't mimmick everything they do.

Just a few months ago, WWE was at a strong 3.5. Hell, they weren't even in the 2's until a few weeks ago.

It's definitely going downhill, but still holds something worth watching. Check out the RoW (JesseJinseiLee) on YouTube.

  • Utter bollocks WCW never got a 1.5 rating & never got a 1.0 rating. In 1999 WCW averaged about a 3.5, in 2000 it was abou a 2.5 & in 2001 the show never went below a 2.1.

  • Yeah, my mistake. I was looking at the Thunder ratings. Even then, the lowest they got was a 1.5, my mistake.

  • Jurk? don't you mean jerk you idiot. Bret Hart is a legend in the wrestling business.

  • not as muchs as say....

Shawn Michaels & Hogan, 2 of the biggest jerks in wrestling

  • At least he can spell simple words!

  • Why u looking for bret then and search him u fucking SonOfBitch

  • miss the hitman bret 4 life

  • Headbutts into someone's back would damage the spine if done properly.

His basic point is the psychology, the realism that had once made pro wrestling what it was during the late 90s and early 2000s isn't there anymore. As a result, storylines are often garbage (i.e.: Glamarella). Which is why I'm glad HBK, Jericho, HHH, Big Show and Taker are still around. Very old school in their approach. And if you hadn't noticed, Old school works in pro wrestling. That is what's on the marquee: WRESTLING

  • It doesn't really do anything and I dare say that it would cause more damaging to the headbutter than the receiver.

I've been watching since the late 90's so I do know what he's talking about. But I'm also a martial artist, so I do know what realism is as well. Headbutting someone in the back isn't that great of an offense. A shoulder thrust, yes, but not headbutting.

  • I really miss the old days.

  • You and me both

  • I agree with Bret on the current state of wrestling, Vince should break up his monopoly & revert the sport back 2 the territorial days of wrestling.

  • Yes, because we all know the territorial days were better! With wrestlers working matches in barns and making $10 a match, because "if they didn't like it, they can go elsewhere."

Vince actually does pay his performers pretty well. Even guys like Paul London, who's unbelievably underrated in WWE, is being paid better than what he'd be in the territorial days.

  • the average wwe wrestler may be getting paid better now, but the quality of the wrestling has gone downhill. it's all about getting in as many spots as possible in their 5 minutes, even if there's no reason for them. the good thing about the territories was that young up and comers got to learn several different styles, and get their skills and character polished, before being put on the big stage. now they're thrown on tv as incomplete performers, trying to learn as they go

  • WWE is nowhere filled with as many spot monkeys as TNA and ROH is. I will admit that it's very spotty and you have to pick and choose most of the time, but it's still a lot better without the territorial system.

We're closer to forming a union than ever before, something which can never happen in the territorial days.

There are still hundreds of places to learn the craft. Mexico, Europe, Canada, Japan, and even Australia are great places to go to when starting out.

  • i agree on the tna point, i can't watch impact, or the ppvs even tho we get them for free over here. it's like watching a b-movie...a really bad b-movie lol

  • you get them for free? Damn.. that's either desperate of them or lucky of you.

I actually liked TNA back before they became WWE-Lite. Yeah, it was nothing but spots, but it was fun to watch something different than WWE at the time.

    Today, it's just unwatchable.

  • yeah he pays them well, but, I also feel that 2 have them on the road 4 200-300 day out of the year is detrimental 2 their personal lives as well as their health. @ one point, I wanted 2 be a wrestler, but when I saw how long they spent on the road, becoming addicted 2 painkillers & reading Mick Foley's first book, I decided 2 remain a spectator

  • Living life on the road is tough. Truckers do it, carnival folks do it, and even the guys who sell stuff at the shops during WWE shows do it. It's a tough life, but it's not terrible. Look at Lance Storm, he went through his entire career and never did any sort of drugs.

Now look at him, at an age where most wrestlers resemble 50-year-olds, he's fit and running his own school... and actually content with his life.

It's tough, yes, but not impossible.

  • Yes but truckers and carnival folks don't abuse their bodies the way wrestlers do. And I'm merely talking about the work they do in the ring. It's hard on the body.

  • Yeah, I meant to point that out, but the limited character count forced me to pull that off.

I understand that more than most. I went through some training (not much) after winning a sort of contest around here. It was hell.

Again, it's not impossible though. I will admit that having house shows isn't needed anymore these days except to help returning/debuting wrestlers a chance to hone their skills before showing up on the screen.

  • thanks
