You can farm infinite lives off this level if you just run straight for the 1-ups, ignoring the gold, get both, suicide and repeat. Each time you do so, you will have a net gain of 1 life.

@Skillbus That's right, Skillbus. You can also do the same thing with the two 1-ups in the Hub level. (Dig right below when you start the level.)
