LOL HAHA. What's the rush? I got through 3 minutes. You made it seem exhausting. I have defenders for my iPod touch and my blackberry, and they take 30 seconds to install the first time. ITS A PHONE PROTECTOR. Not a safe. Easy and yes, very well made.
Can you store the phone in the holster with the screen and keyboard facing in? Seems like it would be very easy to smash the screen when bumping into something with it exposed to the outside.
I dont mean to sound rude, but I feel like I need a nap after listening to you. You really need to slow down. Take your time. BREATHE! Haha! Good Reiew other than that.
@johnandreula13 i totally agree man.. lol, i didnt even finish the vid yet. i had to see if anyone comment on this yet. holy crap... u said it right. im laughin pretty hard, you said it perfect! thx for the laugh bud :)
You say there are "cut outs for the most important vital audio jacks or audio ports..." while pointing to that hole at the bottom. This is very deceptive because that is not the hole for the audio jack (I think it's for the microphone). From what I can see the 3.5mm audio jack is effectively covered up by the dust-cover/flap.
Hi there! Otterbox Defender cases usually have some sort of dust cover for the ports. Even if a port has a dust cover on it, you should be able to attach any cable to the device without issue as long as the cover is opened.
"Cut outs" means that it is accessible by some way and not completely blocked where you would have to literally remove the entire case to have access to. Some cases for example, will not allow you to charge the phone without removing it. Hope that helps
Do you own one of these? If so, do you find the flap obstructive when you keep the 3.5 mm plugged in for extended periods of time? Is it worth buying a set of bluetooth headphones? I hear the Curve has stereo bluetooth capabilities.
I'd really like a Curve, but the real deal maker/breaker is going to be finding a good case.
Loaded comment there! In any case, we find that with all dust covers that aren't removeable, they can be uncomfortable to use. That's just the honest slant of it.
As for Bluetooth headphones - they're a lot better than they use to be but they're very expensive and often bulky. Bluetooth also doesn't usually like audo profiles much either (EQ settings) so if you're a music fan, you may be a little put off by that.
Hmmm... looks awesome, really it does. But that flap that covers the top-left side, it's going to cover the 3.mm at all times, right? It looks kinda loose... so I guess it won't be too obstructive.
It's a big deal for me because I'd like my new Cell-phone to become my primary MP3 player. And I heard going things about this Curve (the top dedicated media keys look sweet). If I keep the audio jack plugged in practically at all times, do you think that flap is going to become bothersome?
this one is called "defender" for about 50 bucks and its also the best one u can get for this phone great for construction workers beisness or just people that jus wanna make sure
@MegaLukas1996 if you go on Ebay, and search Blackberry 8530 Defender case, you can get one really for $1.49 plus shipping and it works the same way as an otterbox would.
Hi there! The commuter case is actually a lot slimmer than the defender case by a good margin across the board for a variety of phones. It's also much more light-weight and usually doesn't have "bumpers" or "plastic molds" that add extra buffering the shell. All in all, the main difference is size even though they are both good rugged cases, the Defender series was really made to take a lot of abuse (like outdoors) while the commuter series is for every day casual usage.
@yumyaw this one is called "defender" for about 50 bucks and its also the best one u can get for this phone great for construction workers beisness or just people that jus wanna make sure
Hi there! The case itself will vary depending on who you purchase it from, but as far as we can tell it may range anywhere $34.99 to $49.99 which we believe is list price. There are 2 series of cases from Otterbox, Defender and Commuter, so make sure you know which one you are looking for as they are different styles.
Hi there! Yeap, Otterbox Defender series cases cater to those who really need protection above all else. The case easily doubles and a half the size of your BB.
Does it fit 9300?

@julianstocks
Yes it should. Otterbox says this fits Curve 8520 / 8530 and Curve 3G 9300 / 9330

Yes of course you can. Actually this is how OtterBox originally intended for you to slide in the phone.
Also as an extra point of interest, on modern OtterBox cases with the redesigned holster - you can put the phone in face in and face out as well.

Actually, in the last layer, the holder, you have to put the blackberry with the screen facing to the other side, so its more protected!

this is so frustrating, how do you put those icons of pictures and stuff on the BB homescreen?

what is the real difference between the commuter case and this case? is tt that the hard shell is on the outside verses being in the inside.
