The preselector on this Drake R4-C has the scale for use with the FS-4 Frequency Synthesizer, which allows for coverage of any 500 KHz (actually 600 KHz) range within 1.5 MHz through 30 MHz without the use of any crystals. The FS-4 would turn this into a general coverage receiver. The FS-4 is visible in the background of my NB-4 Noise Blanker Video.

I have a Drake R4C but my preselector doesn't look like yours. Was that an extra mod or a later version?
