  • it's about aids

  • Song is about ... HIV?

  • Song is dope!!

  • we are doomed

  • /watch?v=ThI3_IrhvnU

  • i wish Lupe would go back to songs like this, he's much too commercialized on his Lasers album he let them talk him into changing his style the feel of his music is not the same anymore

  • @LadyRed4u727 hipster alert

  • @LadyRed4u727 yea Lupe is starting to lose his old flow

  • @LadyRed4u727 he is forced to move into a new style of music but he is still speaking the truth but with a different type of beat but i wish he would remain with songs like this too

  • this song is about the Apocalypse by disease, lupe even says so himself

  • hiz last name means disaster

  • @EazyMixes dude read the lyrics what kindof retarded scientist would say it only affects the mind? also why would everyone want u to have it....

  • Right On !!!

  • can someone PLEASE tell me what that tune is that lasts for just 10sec while it says easymixes at the beginning, and possible where I can get a copy of it ? . . . thanx :)

  • @deliuhhh: in the im beamin video when they show the pyramid with the eye on top he says, "you see me now, im beamin" as in to let them know..DO U SEE ME NOW..im shining..then right after he says HA.. so he is definitely against the illuminati

  • @deliuhhh: in the im beamin video when they show the pyramid with the eye on top he says, "you see me now, im beamin" as in to let them know..DO U SEE ME NOW..im shining..then right after he says HA.. so he is definitely against the illuminati

  • Wow... This whole time I thought only Epik High were good rappers... But apparently there's another thought-provoking artist who can rap about things other than drugs and sex.

  • @LinkShouldBeAGirl Dude ... Epik High is legit too! I discovered them not too long ago and I'm feeling their stuff as well. (:

  • This songs about the illuminati

  • @FaLc336 -_- no dude. not every famous rappers song bout the illuminati

  • Someone should make a Drum and bass remix, just speed up the drums (y)

  • Wow it's not about illuminati, if it is at all he's not with them... He's known for fighting them off. Words I never said, well he means what he says there really nothing about illuminati at all in that one...

  • @qeezeeqee123 Look Up Im Beamin By Him. See The Official Veideo, And Your Gonna See A Pyramid With A Eye On Top. He Is In Illuminati.

  • @deliuhhhh so am i wake up

  • Thios song is about Ma Kali

  • I find this song to be about materialism (shrug:)

  • the song isnt talking about aids but i see where you got it from

  • SMDH!!!!!!

  • lupe has said that he only makes half the music and the other half is up to the interpretation of the listener. this song is very complicated and hard to fully interpret. i believe that in this song he is referring to the fact that people need to open their eyes and see whats really happening to this world. "she" (the devil) aka the bitch lol is getting exactly what she wants and something terrible will happen unless people start waking up and seeing the truth.

P.S lupe is a huge inspiration

  • @GuyLove93 you totally know it

  • @GuyLove93 its something along those lines for sure. Its so hard to put into words and its impossible to explain it to the sheeple. Look up William Cooper if you want to wake up.

  • @GuyLove93 "The Streets is a female like the action personification of the streets. The Game is the personification of the game. And the Streets and the Cool kind of have a love affair going on. She's giving them the key to the Streets. Fame and fortune — but also the prices. The Game, he's represented by a stripped-down skull, a skull with dice in his eyes and smoke coming out of his mouth. The billowing smoke is actually crack smoke." - This is what Lupe said about it in an interview.

  • the song is about the character "the streets" (and she likes it, she loves it) also the second verse talks about "her." but the song also could have double meaning with aids and stuff

  • This video is obviously about lesbians...Streets = vagina Fire= burning sensation

death on the tip of her tounge? Yeah...All the people with the sick mind out there can figure that one out...just a thought..

  • That 1 person had to dislike this didnt he.

  • its about the illuminati and NWO, when he says she he refers to the Davil. Think about it idiots. How is it about aids wow. Stupid. If u Don't believe me listen to his song Words i never said!

  • @MrFiFa10MaNu - I agree with you; I also believe this song is about a New World Order. The song is quite literal, the streets are on fire because a mass epidemic has hit mankind and the end of times has come true. The "femme fatale" he mentions in this song gives hint to the woman in red which represents all the good things in the world which are held by evil hands (Satan).

  • @DeNi3Lv2 wow thanks, i couldn't have said it any better my self. Also in the bridge in the start of the song the guy says that "the plan is arriving, and shes out there smiling" and " Your cross where you find her" Pretty much saying that her (The devil) uses crosses, or necklaces and stuff which are used to mock Jesus. Thats why alot of famous singers who have links with Illuminati wear crosses and stuff, it isnt actually a good thing to waer a cross, Just my opinion anyway, take care.

  • it sounds like a zombie infection?

  • there always seems to be one person who keeps disliking every lupe songmust be one of those soulja boy fans gross smh

  • @oriolesfanforlife was smh?

  • @CarlosEnrique408 Shake My Head.

  • I don't see where michael history is a part of this song. There is no character in the narration. He may be implied to be narrator but - that is never made anywhere near clear in the song - not that I'm aware of.

He definitely talks about aids in the song or stds in general but - the true antagonist in the story, i believe - is vanity, evil, human weakess.

  • the f's look like p's >.<

  • let me help yall out. To paraphrase the song, Lupe speaks of the NWO, martial law and a new pandemic that will take over the world cleasing the earth leaving only those deemed fit to survive the extinction level event of the "Old World" now dig that

  • This music means whatever you want it to. Artists do not write lyrics for only their perceptions.

  • One of the best tracks Lupe has ever made...that 2nd verse is incredible

  • Ever since this came out... I still don't understand what's it about... 4 YEARS OF CONFUSION!!! But I love how in some way we can interpet this song based off our own ideas and perspective. :) Lupe's choice of words just baffles my mind.

  • Clearly... it's about zombies.

  • clearly its about the devil

  • The song is about the end of the world. Read your bibles.

  • @xFlyinRyanx That's what I got from it, too. It draws very much from Revelation. Or, if people want it in a more understandable form, I suggest "Left Behind". Fantastic series depicting what will happen.

  • @xFlyinRyanx Lupe is Muslim.

  • it actually has to do with illuminati if you open your ears, you'd understand

  • @MrAbdi111 dumbshit the streets, the game, and the cool are all aspects of the illuminati if youd open oyur ears on many of his previous songs youd realize that, all of these things are connected its not just one way of truth its multiple ways. wake up

  • he's talkin about the aspect of the streets and being cool, its about michael young but also many other things goin on day to day which many overlook, wakeup ppl its already happening

  • he's talkin about the aspect of the streets and being cool, its about michael young but also many other things goin on day to day which many overlook, wakeup ppl its already happening

  • I was hypnotised by these lyrics, really abstract but so true.. so i listened to this song over and over, before I realised he was talking about the Fear.. the one that everyone has, starting all sorts of suspicions, anger, hatred.. making one start a fight, a battle or a war.. brilliant song.

  • It's the Streets. The charactar from the story.

  • A lot of lupe's songs can mean more than one thing. ie: Gotta Eat - I love that one

  • Watch ya actions or u will become the New World Order.

  • The song is about Pop Culture. Do You.

  • WHETHER IT BE AIDS, THE STREETS, THE WORLD , ETC. NO ONE ON THIS PAGE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THE MESSAGE IS......AND THATS THE BEAUTY OF IT...WHAT IT TRANSLATES TO YOU IS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS MEANT TO BE. ONE THING IS WITHOUT QUESTION THOUGH, LUPE HAS TAPPED INTO NEW DEPTHS WIT THIS ONE! AND HIS PRESENTATION IS STAIGHT MURDER!! NO PUN INTENDED...HA

  • it probably is about Aids but Lupe rapping about only one thing that's a nice joke

  • tupac lupe bone thugs n harmony biggie real rappers no doubt underrated people here.

  • Respond to this video... how could anyone not like this

    one person HAS THE VIRUS

  • y everyone tryin to delve so deep into the lyrics

lupe is a genius that no one can unravel or buy out

    just listen and ENJOY

  • @TheWsdt because its fun and its what Lupe made his music for to make us think he didnt put these lyrics together by chance he wants us to use our mind and dwelve deep into the meaning of this

  • @nosaintiger12 i know and i respect that opinion and i do with every song except for ths go to sleep and blackout

go to sleep cuz i love the song so much i cant define it or it loses its mysterious awesomeness

blackout cuz its so frikin fast

and ya but when people start arguin over it its just frikin annoyin so ya thats y i commented

ONCE MORE I RESPECT EVERYONES OPINIONS

  • ok im a huge lupe fan... i keep listening to this song over and over and i think i got an idea of wats it bout but if someone knows tell me

  • great song 2 play left 4 dead 2 . or any zombie game for that matter

  • @RaGInBaLLeR23 Lupe Fiasco's The Cool is actually about a zombie at least thats what i believe zombie gangsta!!!:P

  • Most of of you are wrong...This song is part of the 4 songs that Has to do with Micheal Young History, look it up this has nothing to do with Aids LMAO i hope your teacher gave you an A though

  • @testme151 I don't know I thought some of the lyrics could depict aids "Disease the virus is spreading in all directions

no safe zone no cure and no protection" Or "Death is on the tip of her tongue" Just because an artist means a song in a certain way doesnt mean that has to be everyones perspective on the song to. And I gurantee if I showed another person this song who had no clue about Lupe Fiasco's The Cool's concept they would think aids would be the songs subject matter. And I got 95 %.

  • @EazyMixes There's "protection" from aids.

  • @EazyMixes And you can't get aids by saliva, probably talking 'bout herpes :P

  • @EazyMixes i know this is a old comment but personally i didn't know about the concept of the cool and i looked at the song as a lost of faith and hope. i look at both of as female. the disease spreading is the lost of them. no safe no cure and no protection is the fact of noone can truly protect themselves from the lost of it. as "death is on the tip of her tongue" one bad day when you put alot of hope in something and you lose them hence they die. "the scientist say it only affects the mind"

  • @versal12 truthfully they are in the mind. some say a morgue, some say the skies, some say the floors where is your hope and faith. are your dreams in the sky or have they already been knocked down into the floor? no symptoms define the signs of an infection no vaccines, remedies, and no corrections Quarantine the dreams and seal off the connections some say once faith has been lost you never truly get it back and normally they aren't real signs til your in the final stages. lol ok i'll stop now

  • @testme151 how exactly do u fucking kno?! did lupe personally tell u himself?! im pretty sure he didnt

  • @testme151 where did you get that information from?just curious cause I thought this song was about warfare in multiple forms.Disease such as aids, but also though the media's influence dealing with the coverage of wars.I could of sworn the "disease" is metaphorical for the self destruction that our species is commits that lead to the destruction of us all. And as for the beginning is it really "this whore is my lady" or "This war is my lady?"War makes more sense w/ the lyrics that follow.

  • @testme151

Clearly this song could only be about a zombie infection.

  • @testme151 - i knw about the michael young theme , but lupe has been known 2 do alot of double meaning. and this would just be added to them,. just shows how talented he is. 2 shroud 1 message within another

  • @testme151 Someone's perspective of a song cannot be wrong. Everybody can have a different interpretation of the lyrics.

  • @testme151 your somewhat right, but like lupe the song goes past mike young history and does address aids as one giant metaphor talking in perspective of the story of mike cool young history... so hope your teacher gave you an A bruh... cos you seem to have trouble seeing the bigger picture of things...

  • @testme151 the song is about aids

  • @testme151 Go read the Quran and you'll understand it on a level you wouldnever imagine. If not, check out The Arrivals. Peace and God Bless You.

  • @testme151 I looked it up. Nothing, I wouldn't mind hearing you thesis though.

  • It's a metaphor referring to aids and the streets. For nobody knows how aids originated or what caused. But yet there are all these theories and accusations throughout about a situation similar to that of aids and every blames who. So know body every really knows anything unless they have sufficient proof. It's like how people talk about a conspiracy until the point they can only blame

  • i heard this song is based out of tht book 1984 by george orwell. anybody know if this is true?

  • death is on the tip of her tongue and dangers at the tip of her fingers streets are on fire tonight

  • first time i heard this i played it atleast 5 times on repeat, then listened to the last verse over atleast 4 times..... lupe definitely put some work into this flow.

  • huh, I typed in the wrong thing and found this. Man, im glad I did. that was a good song.

  • most muslim rap is much real song real life about song

  • Deep like pussy of a whore!

  • Im proud to say as a teen i look up to lupe fiasco

  • @bptchargers hopefully you'll love how he'll inspired me :) /watch?v=ThI3_IrhvnU

  • he made characters for his songs ( The Cool, The Game) i guess hes talking about The Streets (u can check on wiki)

  • You people take things way too serously lol it's a SONG not a warning that the end is near by retarded ass stuff. Love the song

  • @hirotenko77

if you take this Just to be a song than you obviously Don't have the intellectual capacity to understand most of lupe's songs. shame..

  • @CrazyTacoGuy303 the streets the cool and the games are all characters lupe made up the song is about the streets the female character, not the world ending by aids, illuminate or w/e. the whole album is a story lupe said it himself stop trying to put things together lol. the world isnt going to end soon by those things. maybe down the road but not now.

  • @hirotenko77

i dont remember saying that i believed his songs were meant to be a warning of the end is near or whatever. i said his songs he makes Have much more meaning than just being an ordinary "song". But i guess your comment was a little misleading..

  • Dude like this is you friking love this song!! xP

  • why is he blameing a women for the disease..

  • @BaileyIsAChamp It's a concept album. "Streets" is a character.

  • i agree with deezfatnutz .. but this song makes him sound sexist why is he blameing women for this disease..

  • @BaileyIsAChamp how is he blaming women?

  • @BaileyIsAChamp how is he blaming women?

  • i agree with deezfatnutz

  • y is it we hav one hater on dis song dis person mus be weak azz hell

  • The "disease" that Lupe is talking about is not Aids/HIV but Ignorance. Ignorance of the people of the world. Listen to the song and it makes 100% sense. He actually said so in a blog also

  • Comment removed

  • I dnt normally try and advertise other artist on lupe's songs but check out Black Dove. ( symphony, the matriarch of my heart, mental entrapment etc) he's one of the few artist ive heard who come close to lupes lyrical content lol

  • this is amazing

  • I think people who are watching this video are like listening in to it too much

  • @EazyMixes This is what Lupe wants though. This is why he the best, he wants us to think. No one else does this. But im my opinion, he is talking about EVERYTHING detrimental to society, so greed, AIDS, other disease, and ignorance. ITs what you can relate too. So many meanings in one song, dudes fuckin beast

  • @EazyMixes It's pretty simple. He said that this album was a concept album(Tells a story) about The Cool, The Game, and The Streets. This song is about the streets. According to Lupe Fiasco, that's what the song is about at least lol.

  • @EazyMixes definately not about aids dude lupe is so much deeper than that when you think u understand it you;ve barely scratched the surface

  • @nosaintiger12 I think it's multiple subjects not just one in particular like "government"

  • @EazyMixes might be we will never know Lupe's real deep and i would give all of bill gates' money just to take a look into his mind

  • @EazyMixes and you right too. i believe lupes songs are all like this. multiple meanings they up to u. for me hip hop saved my life is inspirational. i put that song on and i can do what i need to, i could write a song after listening to that. for other people it could mean someone who wrote a song, got famous, and got him outta poverty. just that, its all on perspective. if that what it means to u thats what it means to u. its amazing. and me oo as a teen i look up to lupe too. my favorite str^

  • @nosaintiger12 yeah man it does allude 2 aids in someways like he said it is about multiple subjects tied up in one.. I mean I know all the different subjects.. but u can use it about that subject. Just as well I could use it about The Streets and break it down..

  • Every now and then the song talks about some woman i.e. the chorus and "She likes it, she loves it" Who is that supposed to be. Is it mean to be a whore since it says she's next to a pimp? I also thought of the fact that since it says "death is at the tip of her tongue" and the fact the the song is about HIV. So is it a whore or am I missing something?

  • @CristianV88 shee is AMERICA. the song is pretty self explanitory if u know about the illuminati

  • @youtubar I dont know if the song goes that far but can see where you can get that from. Lupe is telling us something and we need to listen. I think he's talking about world, but thats just an opinion and I think we as people can start healing each other once we establish a conversation loving one another.

  • @kdtheballa the illuminatti gather negative energy and the song talks about about that and the song also tells us how they do this to (media). i mean the album is named the cool. the devil is the ultimate deceiver and the album talks about what we think is cool and how we have been decived to precive bad things as cool or good.

  • @kdtheballa lupes first verse he talks about this disease of the soul"No pill

Can heal The ill of this Sickness". second verse talks about how the disease is spread wich is media. america is at the head of spreading this disease trouought the world.

  • Favourite current hip hop artist. LUPE and Talib

Favourite producers . J dilla and Pete rock

  • if i had to pick one rap song as my favorite.....if i had to pick one rap song as the greatest in history............its this.......far & away......

  • the beginning says "this war is my lady...these bombs are our babies..." not "this whore is my lady... we've lost all our babies.

  • i thought he was talking about aides.. i think you guys are reading a little too much into the song.

"death is on the tip of her tongue"

  • damm lupe is the rawest! we need to give him more credit, who else can make a whole story line using his music? no one, its amazing

  • i agree with reargef

  • ... speechless.

  • Here are my thoughts on this song:

Before you read this you need to be aware of the three characters The game, The streets and The cool.

I think the virus he's talking about is "the game" and what it portrays as being "cool". In other words; If ppl like soulja boy and bow wow where to be "The Cool" I would say ppl like Lil Wayne and so on are "the game". Trying to puzzle the main core of this song thou, the part where "the streets is on fire".

Make any sense or am I lost?

  • @Benziiish kinda wrong the cool is "michael young history" and was good but raised without a father so... later in his life he was lured in by the streets and her and the game corupted him into having a drug empire and he was killed and his zombie is the cool the cool's right hand is rotted away bacause of lack of RIGHTeousness and he reperents what the media says is "cool" guns,drugs,......

  • great video :)

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at mp3iiiiify. Check that site out - its sick. Google mp3iiiiify

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at mp3iifffy. Check that site out - its sick. Google mp3iifffy

  • "every dream is designed and broadcasted from the masters to the masses

from the antennas on the top of the shrines

refine the receiver and plant it during the panic, and shorty it reports back

    everything in your mind"

research "HAARP" you'll understand this line... physcologist say that the fundementals of brain washing is to create fear or panic because when the mind is in a state of fear it is easily led and open to the first solution put forth.

  • @fnguy06

I really like this definition, I believe and I'm not going to talk more about it til I have done more research, that 2012 is a Government plot to create CONTROLLED CHAOS.

  • @DaWreckThreat ive read that 2012 is supposed to be the start of the tribulation and the illuminati is supposed to introduce some demons digiused as aliens to draw us away from god. thats supposed to fufill there plans to bring about the NWO

  • @tresagoes there are alot of different theories, I just believe that they are trying to create the same affect that they created with Y2K, alot of people bought a lot of products for no reason, spent THOUSANDS of DOLLARS on GENERATORS and CANNED GOODS; for what, just for them to be like "oops it didn't happen," now take the same Idea, but instead of telling people that all the COMPUTERS are going to crash now tell them that THE WHOLE WORLD ITSELF IS GOING TO BE DESTROYED. What will happen???????

  • This song is fuckin awesome!

  • This war is my lady

    these are our babies...

etc. You might want to double-check the lyrics...

  • These bombs are our babies, that is.

  • Lupe is by far the most talented\ unappreciated rapper in the world ....it really pisses me off.

  • lol, yeah yo, i agree with u, hes very under rated and other shit trappers like lil wayne, or even drake get more credit than him.

  • i know right like fuckin soldierCrap i mean soldierboy =p

  • he good but idk if hes on madvillans lvl yet

  • @deezfatnutz damn i couldnt agree with u anymore.. i feel the same way its bullshit that he aint mentioned as one of the better rappers in the world

  • @deezfatnutz so true

  • @deezfatnutz you have almost as many thumbs up as the video itself. lol.

  • @deezfatnutz and therefore I would say is the only rapper who really knows his Lovly Shit

  • I'm not sure Lupe Fiasco actually means this, but I think the first verse could be interpreted as being the disease of 'death', and to a lesser extent, the disease of sin.

The second verse and any reference to 'her' i believe are references to the fallen world we live in, a world corrupted by sin.

  • Streets is a character Lupe raps about... she resembles the life on the streets (hence the name) She is in a relationship with the Game (the same ref. but as for hustlers, pimps, etc). the Game takes the Cool (aka Michael Young) under his wing since he has no father. the Cool has an affair with the Streets.

You have to know his characters before decoding his lyrics. all of his songs contribute to one big story

  • explain

  • Nice work, sony vegas?

  • Lupe is beast

  • it seems only a few of u r realizing this "streets" is the charcater in "the cool" same as "game" and "my cool young history" so this song isnt about a real disease nessarily its about cloths and jewls what it means to be cool basically and those things are destroying us. but i think the aids idea is really cool to though.

  • In the final verse he mentions a "femme fatale" which is a woman who lures u in with her beauty and then destroys you. This is what the "streets" are, or the disease. It refers to the biblica story where jesus asks god to show him the world, and he does so in the form of a woman. From a distance she is beautiful, with nice clothes, etc. As Jesus nears, she turns into a skeleton, showing the worlds true side. There is no cure, once pulled into the streets.

  • reargef i don't know you mean but you almost made me cry with those deep words LOL

  • damn thats some deep sht

  • @reargef I know its been a while since you made this comment, but could you tell me what verse and chapter in the bible where it states that God showed Jesus the world in the form of a women. Thanks

  • @reargef what is the bible verse about showing the world in form of a woman?

  • @reargef Oh, damn, I was kinda happy not knowing the meaning behing those lyrics. :) It's fucking poetry though

  • @reargef Not saying I've read the entire Bible...but in all that I've read I have NEVER heard of this story of Jesus. Where did you get this from???

  • @reargef wow, i NEVER heard of that bible story...

  • @reargef Why would Lupe Fiasco incorporate a Christian story/message/metaphor into one of his songs, when he's a muslim?

  • @reargef couldnt have explained it better man ;D
