@ramtafs , I stay in Mumbai, I play all my uploads by ear but also getting trained on Piano for grade 6 Trinity. It definitely helps in using advanced chords and arpeggios but identifying comes by practice . I have been playing by ear since I was 5 and it took 4 years to be what I am now. There is still a long way to go :)

Keyboard doesnt matter much except that 88 keys allow wider range of keys. Please let me know if I can help in anyway.
