  • When I took some classes at the community college that had a two year program for nursing there were alot of JWs because it was a trade type program. In my regular university there wasn't a single Witness. It depends on the class, if it's a basic class then I wouldn't be surprised that JWs took the class, if it's philosophy, advanced science or otherwise, I'd be shocked.

  • @TimKilgore Really good point. Obviously, this doesn't apply to those who would make it into law school, but as far as Witness undergrads, you'd be hard-pressed to find a Witness in a philosophy or science class (gotta stay away from that evolution!). But trade-type programs are not viewed as quite so dangerous.

  • @nathanaelstacy1 The trade schools were encouraged in my hall, it so happened the only place that offered stuff like that was the Community College. I was the first in my congregation to go to college actually. We all know how well that turned out :)

  • @TimKilgore Yeah, man, ya went to college and became the spawn of Satan. Take that as a lesson, Jehovah's Witnesses. Let your kid go to college, and they'll become the spawn of Satan, like Kilgore here.

  • @nathanaelstacy1 Or you'll get the famous "you'll think yourself right out of the truth" line I'm so fond of.

  • @TimKilgore I don't think I've ever heard that one. If you can think yourself out of the truth, what is it you do to get yourself in? hehe

  • Interesting. I don't really know much about this religion but have learned quite a bit from your vids. Have a friend who is a Witness but avoid the religion thing when talking to her. PS: You have an excellent speaking voice & presentation style. Unusually clear and precise.

  • @featherdude Glad to be a source of information for you. And congrats on being able to avoid the religion issue with your friend -- that often takes some fancy footwork to avoid (as all JW's are taught to look for every opportunity to talk about religion)... And thanks for the compliment.

  • Also the parents want to be percieved as being good Jehovah's Witness Parents by having children that either pioneer or go to Bethel. If they go to college they cant devote their life to Jehovah. A few are able to pioneer and go to school if their parents can support them.

  • @PrintedTruth Very true.

  • Congrats on your education.... I am very happy when I hear when x-jw's go to get a higher education... you can't go wrong with an education...it opens doors for you that you won't believe..... good video.... and best of wishes for your future...

  • @mylilsaffire Thanks for watching, and for your comments. Just wish I'd done it sooner!

  • @nathanaelstacy1 it's ok..you did it now.... and that is the most important thing... your life experiences plus your education will get you very far in life..... 2 thumbs up!
