Just recently Al Franken introduced a Bill to punish corporations that interfere with thier employees right to go to court if they are raped while working. Thirty republican senators voted NO!
Now tell me again why you think the republican party is the party that protects individuals constitutional rights?
Big govt always came in and tried to make things fair. Remember most whites became Republicans because of civil rights laws. White people don't fear the justice system. They believe it works. As far as voting for Obama because he's black. Whites say that as if blacks voted for Snoop Dog. I wouldn't vote Clarance Thomas for President. Many blacks voted for Clinton over Jesse Jackson. Obama is super smart. Whites can't pin the Affirmative Action button on him.
Lots of things confuse me about voting just based on your personal needs. Bush's war killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iragis and I'm just voting based on not having my taxes increased. Terrible. However, black people are pro federal govt over states rights because it's always been the states that disenfranchised blacks.
