The audio and video are really bad here but I agree that the studio version is more indicative of the quality of this cover. Too bad this clip was not so good as the parts that are clear sound even more like Rise Against's punk style than the studio version. As for comparison with Journeys version, why would you want a band like Rise Against trying to cover a song exactly like the original?

This song was pretty good when Journey made it. And Rise Against just improved it. These guys are freakin awesome!!! Fair opinion, Id say real Punk Rock is more like Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Religion. I think Rise Against's influence stemmed from them and others, so I would feel comfortable calling it "Modern" Punk or something. As long as they're shouting and pissed off about something right? ;)

I dont want to start anything, and as you can see my post was 3 damn years ago. I stand corrected, for NOW, 3 years later, I would say FOB and GC are hip-hop rock. which sucks just as much to me. You can listen to whatever you want, and you can categorize them however you want, but the point is I dislike FOB and GC, and it seems like 19 other people agree. So pick your insults. For the purpose of this video, I like RA, but i'm not a fan of their new stuff.

They probably think they're being funny by wrecking a classic song, but this is still better than any of their own songs. People still listen to Journey songs almost twenty years after they first came out. The only time people will talk about rise against in twenty years is when they answer the trivia question "what band sucked the most ass of all time?".
